So I saw a tweet yesterday (forget from who) that Foster and the coaching staff have been talking a lot more recently and it seems like things may pick up again. Anyone have any insight into this?

I heard another topic saying that one of the other Buckeye sites was reporting similar info. Alex did say it was the first he'd heard of it, but this is definitely good news! After his visit, it seems like he was trying to clear his name (granted, could have also been covering his ass since he doesn't want other coaches hearing about his discipline issues), perhaps this new info shows that the staff's coming around to him.
Kid's an absolute monster, he'd be an awesome get--if he cleans up his percieved "act."
I hope this is the case, but with the reduced schollies and probation, we need a kid who will keep his nose clean and also not drop out of school. What good is it if a 5 star recruit flunks out after 1 or 2 years ?
In Urban We Trust
How many people usually do the tours with the players? Was it just him and a guide or was he with regular students or a group of recruits? I look back at how I acted around school or school functions when I was 16/17 and sometimes to get a laugh I said and did some smart assed shit. Could of been he was just trying to be funny and it just didn't work out for him.
@Btalbert
If I'm not mistaken, he was taking the tour with one of his high school friends Jordan Whitehead (2015 DB?) and just kept making fun of everything the guide said. I was a pretty big smartass wehn I was that old too so I can relate, but it's also something the coaches were not real happy with.
The buzz on Foster is that he's been trying to make up the ground he lost during the visit, which to me shows how interested he really is in being a buckeye.
I can chalk that up to a kid just being a smart ass in front of his buddy. It was early in the process too so I'm glad Urban put his foot down and basically let him know he won't get away with that kind of crap at Ohio State. Good on Urban and the kid if he ends up here.
Albert, same with me.
Also, one possibility: when I was a kid playing sports, I liked to believe that I was a "gamer." That I'd play all out in games, but maybe not as hard in practice.
If the kid (wrongly) thinking that way is a freak of nature (I most certainly wasn't), he'll still have tremendous success at the high school level. Then perhaps that attitude carries over into their overall attitude on non-game-days - it did with me. It's almost like you begin to rationalize that working 80-percent during practice and workouts is why they're able to go 110-percent during games, and your goofing around in practice becomes a matter of pride.
Not saying that's the case with Foster, but if so, he's probably not a lost cause. Two weeks of Camp Urban will fix him right up. On the other hand, if he's a punk . . .
Well the only other places Ive heard Foster being interested in is State Penn and Pitt. If I were him I would try and get back in the Buckeyes good graces so I dont have to be doomed to a college football career of mediocrity.
"if irony were made of strawberries, we' d all be drinking a lot of smoothies right now."
Give me Foster over every other offensive player left on the board ... He has 1st round draft pick wrote all over him ... Threadwell doesn't come close ... Foster, Quick, and Gibson ... I coudlnt care less about Threadwell ... He is by far the "least" elusive of all the WR's we are recruiting ...
Idk about Threadwell, but Laquon Treadwell is pretty damn good.
Damnit Buck-I, now that we know he's probably going to michigan we have to make it seem like we don't want him. Don't you know anything about recruiting?
Haha so this is the reason why we have that stigma.
Even though he's headed to scUM, it's pretty hard to argue that Treadwell is less elusive than Gibson. I'd say he's about equal to Quick. Foster is obviously the best of the bunch.
I'm not making it seem like I don't like him as a player, but I was never thrilled about him from the beginning ... Compare Foster to Quick to Threadwell ... and you tell me who you want the most ... Jus because someone doesn't pick OSU doesn't change my view on them I'm not that easily swayed .... ...
@Woody ... I recant my statement about Gibson ... I haven't seen much tape on him .... So his elusivness compared to Threadwell could go either way, but Quick is downright better then Threadwell, and if I had my pick I'd take Quick ... I like the guy Stringfellow we just offered more than Threadwell too ...
Quick is not "downright better" than TREADwell. he has upsides that will work better in our system though.
For our offense:
Foster > Quick > Treadwell > Gibson
@BUCK-I.8
Is his misspelling bugging you just a tad? ;)
Well your entitled to your opinion just like I'm entitled to mine ... In any offense you take Quick before Treadwell ... His skill set is more diverse, and he brings more to the table ...
Threadwell
Don't worry, I've moved on to his misuse of "your/you're"
It would do this thread well to stop misspelling the last name "Treadwell"....
Do you see what I did there? :D
I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.
Are we here to have an Spelling/English class, or talk about recruiting? ... People on this board are quicker to pick an arguement then share, or contribute something to the actual topic of discussion ... Ahh well to each his/her own ...
Yea, this whole thread went to crap about 10 posts ago. I'd love to actually hear some info on Foster. Instead we can have a p*ssing contest over spelling kids names.
There's nothing that cleanses your soul like getting the hell kicked out of you.

Marshall, Gibson, Foster would seem to be how it could be.
Quick doesn't know yet what he will do and Treadwell sees less competition at michigu and Hoke is putting a gun to his head to commit.
Spots could be tight at Ohio State with not many schollies to give out.

always happy to help, pal
Buckster, how do you figure Hoke is pressuring Treadwell to commit? It's been said for awhile that he has a spot open regardless of what happens and he knows that.
I agree that Foster and Quick fit UFM's system better than Treadwell might, but he's still a fantastic receiver. That's the consensus from all scouts and recruiting services, not to mention his offer sheet. I can't read Urban's mind, but I bet he'd be thrilled if Treadwell wanted to commit. He would have a place in this class if he wanted it.
Its annoying when we criticize scUM fans for the crap they pull when they don't land a prospect. They insist the coaching staff cooled on them, or something better came along. Plenty of tOSU fans do the same thing....just because tOSU doesn't seem to be a serious contender for Treadwell's services anymore, doesn't mean we cooled on him. It doesn't mean anyone else were looking at for WR is way better. Give me a break. It just means he thought another school would be a better fit. Let's not stoop to the level of those we constantly criticize on this forum.
Wait, I thought we were talking about Threadwell... :)
