Apparently Ohio State has been listed in his top 2, the other school being Oregon. I haven't seen any talk about him on the forums. Anyone have any insight on this guy?

Wow. I know nothing about this kid and don't even remember his name being mentioned around here. Staff must be well aware of him since we are in his top 2 with Oregon and he is from Texas so distance shouldn't be a factor either.

According to the link above it shows down to two and those two being Oregon and Texas which would make more sense but who knows...
Texas had been in his top two with Oregon so Herman must be working more magic (maybe with some help from JT Barrett) He looks like the shifty speed back that Urban loves.
Peter, thanks for the share. Guys like Wilson are the reason I don't get too disappointed when targets choose elsewhere; the coaching staff has plenty of good alternatives scouted out.

Go Bucks!
Good God that was the most annoying highlight tape I've ever watched..
I love Derrick Green but give me Dontre Wilson-- we have similar backs to Green- we don't have a back like Wilson
If you ain't a Silver Bullet, you're a target
He looks like more of a wr than a hb to me runs great routes
Hardly home but always reppin
good fit for the spread...literally came out of nowhere with this...made me do one last edit to my FORECASTING 2013: RUNNING BACKS piece that will be out tomorrow afternoon
Is it just me or does it seem like he needs to get his pad level a little lower, just looks like he's standing straight up while running through the line.
Otherwise, looks great
his cuts are just so darn quick. Never heard of him before this, but he looks incredible on film
@Partisan, I agree, but honestly, I would be surprised if he wasn't being recruited as another slot reciever/ wideout. He's got that hkind of height and looks more like a reciever coming out of the backfield than an RB. Probably why he's listed as an APB, just out of lack of position designation
We have backs like Green- but we don't have any like Wilson. Wilson's an all-purpose back which I bet Urban loves. Demps and Rainey were also all-purposes.
This kid looks great. Has speed and great quickness. Really does remind you of the speedy Oregon back Lamichael James.
@William ... What was so annoying about the highlight tape?
@Partisan ... Yea, he is running a bit upright, and he got blowed up a couple of times because of it too ...
All Ducks... wake me when he makes an official
Cause I couldn't go for three
@BUCK-I.8 I would tend to agree with you about recruiting him as WR/Slot guy but remember this is Urban Meyer we are talking about. He seems to me (maybe not same track speed) that he's around the same size as Demps and Rainey and I would say they did pretty well.
Dude is quick... I'll take him.
Don't give up... Don't ever give up.
I want them both! They are different types of players but I'll take both.
Probably not room to take 3 RB's in this class I would take Green over Wilson. Wilson looks great, but we already have a commitment from Elliot who is a shiftier fast back. I think Green is about to blow up his senior year, he is already rated highly but it would not surprise me to see him climb those charts not that they really matter I just think Green is a really good player.
Has he even visited campus? Just curious... kind of comes out of nowhere...
My point was just that if they both want to commit-- possible, though unlikely --Urban may take them both because of differing approach
Good Point @Buck-I, especially considering that Wison could probably play WR.
I really want Green in this class, since he grew up as a Buckeye fan, but this kid's film was more impressive to me. Fits the spread VERY well, he and Elliott are both very good all-purpose backs. He could easily be a slot guy, and he is VERY dangerous when he has the ball.
I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.
Am I missing something on Derrick Green? His youtube highlights aren't really that impressive. A powerful back w/ no breakaway speed. Always got chased down. Obviously I'm no expert but I'm pretty confused why he's ranked so highly.
Saw Gerdeman mention him yesterday. Kid is dangerous in space for sure.
vacuuming sucks
I know it's ESPN but 6 schools?

6 schools seems more realistic to me. Just hard to see Ohio State being in the top 2 for a player from Texas that has never visited. The Baugh situation was similar to this and he commited but at least he had family in Ohio and a cousin at Ohio State so he was somewhat familiar with the area and he seems to be enamored with Aaron Hernandez and the chance to play the same role he did in college. Everything I have seen on this Wilson kid sounds like he is Oregon's to lose though. Saw a quote from a couple of weeks how he mentioned Oregon's running back coach was like a best friend to him.
Ok, but if were in his final two and he hasn't visited yet, it's even better for our chances. Get him on campus, suddenly he went from being high on the program to being blown away
@ buckinbama - I wasn't too enthused about the music, so maybe that's William's beef with the video?
FWIW, according to 247, Oregon already has the #2 RB, OSU has the #25. Dontre is #10, Derrick Green is #12. Dontre may view OSU as less "competition" in his class. I think another athlete capable of playing both RB and WR is more desirable than another "big" back since we'll already have 4 when he arrives on campus.
I just found the editing of the video annoying. I don't need the whole scroll on the bottom as well as the extras, just identify the guy on each play and have the footage play, nothing else is needed.
This dude looks good, he has really good speed and is elusive something we don't really have, but maybe elliott is that guy. But to me it looks like Wilson could line up at RB or WR, so he could be a good fit for the harvin role.
