Been all kinds of bad news on the recruiting this week. With Anzalone no longer a buckeye will Bosa be next to go? These two were pretty tight so its fair to wonder if the self proclaimed bash brothers are both heading elsewhere. Maybe Alex or someone can shed some light on whats going on. I know about the whole Pedo thing but is this really the reason or is something else going on. Hopefully whatever is going on dosen't have a snowball affect.

Only if they both go to Florida will their decisions affect each other. If Bosa decommitted, he would likely head to Bama, Anzalone to PSU. So they won't both decommit to be together probably. I don't think Bosa follows him right away, if at all. I think we'll see this die down a bit, and if Urban handles PR correctly, backlash can be minimized.
Great points, BUCK-I.8. Urban handled the bowl ban news with recruits great; being up front and honest. And that's what he needs to do again with this news. As for recruits, I can understand their decision to not want come here, but I think if you really love Ohio State and Coach Meyer that you will wait for everything to play out and then make a decision.

It's such a crazy circumstance. Buckeye Nation has millions of followers and fans, how was the school supposed to know that one of them was a creepy piece of garbage? You can't blame Anzalone for making his decision, and I don't think I could blame Bosa either. A sad day for Ohio State.

I think Anzalone's thing had a lot to do with his dad, I think Bosa and probably his parents are stepping back and realizing this was just 1 guy not even assosciated with the university, atleast I hope.

It seems like sal anzalone is a bit of a hothead and furthermore that Alex and sal might be a bit strange. It's not like this guy was going to violate his 6'4" 220 son. He's not even affiliated with the program. It's not like OSU can run a background check on anyone that sets foot in Columbus. Something like this can happen anywhere. It's the anzalone family that judged OSU. If he truly wanted to be a buckeye this wouldn't prevent him from comming. I think the main thing here is that sal was embarrassed his son took a picture with that guy. Unlucky for OSU and not our fault. Mark it up as a loss and move on. There are a ton of talented lbs out there. This should also be a reality check that this thing isnt going to be perfect. Urban is not going to get every recruit he wants, we're not going to go undefeated every year and shutout every team we play. Alex is a great talent but do yourselves a favor and put this in perspective. I think sal owes urban an apology.

@fail, i think you're spot on. i think the anzalones feel like there is mud on their faces. this is a sad attempt to pin blame on urban and the ohio state athletic department in general. he's embarrassed his macho, stud recruit son was caught in a twitpic with a registered sex offender.

It seems to me you guys are spot on. The fact that he did allow him to get that close would reflect more on their parenting than Urban Meyer in anyway. You can't police these kids for their entire visit, they have to show a little maturity. Its a tough situation, I feel for the kid because he probably still WANTS to be a Buckeye but his parents may have jumped the gun.

@Highwire It is painful but I think the insight and banter we gain from the 3(?) good Michigan guys on this site is worth it. Plus they follow the rules, so what can you do. I bet Woody and Bo would have understood the interplay as long as we didn't go sign a peace accord and braodcast it everywhere. Those two shot-the-bull all the time with each other. -Yes, you wouldn't think that an older pedophile would be able to physically violate a guy of Anzalone's stature. Not without a weapon of some sort. Anzalone isn't the kind of kid to carry a weapon, nor should he be, and campus isn't an area where you should have to. But if the pedophile had a gun or a knife or anything like that, you never know.
Anyways, I REALLY hope Anzalone finds his way back into this class. My favorite recruit we had, and that's saying a lot.

I think that the Anzalone camp may have over-reacted and may have acted to quick in decommiting. I am not sure if he will realize that this was a bizzare situation and could potentially happen at any university but it would be worth reconsidering OSU.
It was posted earlier by JC Shurburtt that Alex visited Florida Thursday before decomitting . I'd say this kid had cold feet to begin with. This Perv ordeal was just icing on the cake.

Did Urban know about that visit and not enforce his policy?
JC Shurburtt tweeted that Anzalone was visiting UF on Thurs and Friday. Urban Meyer most assuredly revoked his scholarship offer after than. The Eric Waugh issue may not be as big. When Bri'onte Dunn wanted to visit UM, Meyer was clear that it meant losing his scholie and I am sure that is what happened if Alex indeed went on a visit.

The other thread about him being in now is probably all that is known at this point on Bosa (trust me...I've looked). I agree with a couple people above...I think I'm done looking at recruiting until after the season. It's too early to be worrying about what these kids are going to do...Feb. 2013 is a long ways away.
