Now that Anzalone is not coming to OSU what LB prospect becomes our target? Excluding Jaylon Smith( longshot but a spot is always waiting for him) Kimbrough would seem to be the logical target. I don't know much about Kimbrough but he seems to be high on all boards. I'd like to hear what you all think.

Jaylon Smith is the only LB with an OFFER imo and we are battling ND for him, we need to go all out on this kid and go for broke. I see an offer possibly for Kimbrough in the near future if Smith does not appear to work out. Devaris Brunson could possible get an offer some time as well. We just offered a LB today by the name of Yannick Ngakoue, don't know a whole lot about this kid, but he has a ton of offers. I think he's 50/50 on Maryland and Auburn at this point.
Another kid with an OSU offers is Peter Kalambayi, great kid but we aren't recruiting him hard or pretty much at all. Has great discipline and vision. His top 3 would be UNC, UVA, and Stanford, but Clemson draws intrest as well as Arkansas.
Only two other LBs at the moment hold OSU offers, Matt Rolin and Mike Mitchell, both not being recruited that hard as well. Rolin at this time is a South Carolina lean and Mitchell is most like going to the Big 12. Baylor and Texas A&M he is 50/50 between with offers, but he is interested in Oregon and Texas, not holding an offer from them.

Sounds a little like he's actually thinking about the situation and realizing this isn't really Osu's fault what so ever. If that is the case, I do give him credit for it even if Alex doesn't end up back at Osu.

i hope that this doesn't turn into a davonte neal situation where the father becomes the spokesperson for his SON'S decision...
furthermore, the fact that this was an unofficial visit seems to suggest that this falls more on the parents keeping tabs on this particular recruit, not the school being visited.
Two kids that could play some OLB to keep an eye on: Jason Hatcher and Jonathan Allen. Both ELITE with OSU interest.

I imagine Urban has been on the phone with the Anzalone's and trying his best to cool things off. Maybe there is a slight chance Alex comes back. I won't hold my breath, though.
I wouldnt get my hopes up. If this has been coming for a while, there's no short term damage control.
If we could get Anzalone back, this would be a great example for Urban Meyer to use when or if he enforces a Twitter ban with his players. I'm sure Mr. Anzalone would be willing to warn others of these types of situations.

Does anyone think Kimbrough is a good fit? He has wanted to be a Buckeye and he is highly rated.
The knock on Kimbrough is that he lacks the speed that Urban wants to see, but there's no doubt he's a solid LB, getting great reviews in camp. I think he'll get an offer if things keep trending downward for the other options, Marotti will just have a bit of a job to do with him
Somebody has to bring it up.. I hope we offer McCray.
@DMCDOUGAL I wouldnt mind seeing Urban offer McCray and put pressure back on Gedeon. Make Michigan sweat a bit, these are guys in our backyard
If Kimbrough is not fast enough for Urban system then why were we considering McCray and Love who from all the stats run a almost identical 40 time? ( 4.6-4.6 ) I personally would like to see OSU go after Smith and Kimbrough.
McCray never got an offer, I don't think he was shown any more interest than Kimbrough, but at today's camp McCray was said to be quicker than the other LBs there. As for Love, I don't think anyone without insider knowledge can say why they were so high on him, but there must have been a good reason. He does look a little quicker on film, but not in his 40 times.
Farrell just tweeted something about Osu still being alive for Anzalone and attached a paywalled rivals article. I don't put much stock in it, I'm sure Gene will summarize it for us at some point, but I'm not a fan enough of rivals to subscribe, so if someone wants to summarize AA's statement, that would be nice.
Hope we get Worley from Glenville to commit to us. He's an Ohio kid who can grow into a 200 plus pound linebacker/safety...kind of like Jermale Hines. Personally, I'm all for Ohio kids playing for their state school. Worley is from the eastside of Cleveland, so I'll assume he and his family are not wusses when it comes to accidentally encountering weird strangers in a big city.
Great point MOOPDAWG what kind of rock does AA live under that this is such a huge shocker? This could and probably has happend at any university and especially one with city population of 1.5 million. Dr. Sal needs to wake up and realize that where ever his "saint of a son" goes to he will encounter something weird/bizzare, that is reality of life. Maybe he can go to PSU where the coach can actually be the wierd/bizzare dude instead of the fans?
Even if offered I don't think McCray would flip to OSU at this point, just like I think Dymonte Thomas is a lost cause. I think Urban would do well to go after guys who are still available now rather than try to flip others. 2012 was a unique situation in that Urban came on late in the game and needed to play catch up. Then there was the PSU scandal which OSU was able to use to its advantage. I don't see the need to go after guys who are committed to schools already.
@ADAMANT73: yeah, the thing that pisses me off most about Dr. Sal is how he talked bad about my school, The Ohio State University...he saying to some extent that "something isn't right about Ohio State," and "how can the coaching staff allow recruits to go to such places." The kids were at BW3s from what I understand. I guess if we want to make sure that there aren't any pedos in the building, we need to take the recruits to the strip club....just kidding about that one. :) GO BUCKS!!!
I think if Anzalone thinks it over, and decides he wants to win a NC, he will come back hat in hand.
I am guessing that he got creeped out, and being from PA and the Happy Valley Boys Camp scandal fresh in his mind, he panicked. That sort of thing can really shock you when you are that young and have not been around. Perhaps he took a ribbing from school mates over it as well (although I suspect not directly to his face).
If he does not come back and it is over this, if what is currently known is all there is, then he did not really want to play for Urban Meyer and win a NC anyway. So, I am not sweating this one.
If Bosa leaves, I will feel the same way about it. If their 18 year old pride cannot take the fact that they unknowingly had their picture taken with an unsavory character, then they are not mature enough for college IMO.
My vote says Bosa stays and Anzalone comes back before next season is over, if there is even still room for him... something he should consider.
