Which potential recruit do you think is an absolute must get for the Bucks?
For me:
Offense: Treadwell (playmaker and one less for the TSUN)
Defense: Jaylon Smith

Offense: R. Foster, (yeah, I know the reports are we may have cooled off...but, I'm hoping for another visit where he makes up for the alleged/perceived attitude problems...he is still a 17-yr. old kid)...if not him, then I'd go with J. Quick A big-time receiver is what we're missing.
Defense: J. Smith, I'm with you on that. Right now Linebacker doesn't look a position of need, but you never know what the future will hold (injuries, transfers, etc.)....and this guy's numbers say "must get" prospect.

There are none who are must get. If you can make most of your starting lineup out of 4* kids plus you'll be fine, and OSU will surely do that with Meyer. This WR/playmaker thing is overblown a bit IMO considering Meyer really prob 5 total playmakers (Tebow, Rainey, Demps, Hernandez and Harvin). OSU has had that in the last 6 years themselves (Braxton, Beanie, Ginn, Gonzo, Smith). Brown, smith and Spencer should be fine and if Williams plays well, along with Stoneburner and Braxton, we should have the weapons. The WR and the QB were all rookies basically last year and it showed.
And I left TP off the list somehow...
Offensive must get=Pocic or Treadwell
Defensive must get=Jaylon Smith or Bosa
Offense:r. Foster
Defense: j.bosa

I'd rub the OSU recruiting Genie lamp and ask for:
Su'a Cravens/Vonn Bell- love to watch top notch safety play and how they effect a defense
Marcell Lazard- he's beefy
J.T. Barrett- need that next in line guy
Like Buckeye06 posted, any recruit can be as "must get" as Louis Irrizary, Sentreneal Henderson, Jimmy Claussen, Jamal Berry....etc.
They've got to get some more playmakers on offense if the goal is national championship. I think at WR they should take 4 if you're counting Marshall as a WR, which is most likely where he'll play. That's a lot at one position, but the more you take the better the odds you find a star. Plus I really like the talent at the position from what I've seen on the videos. It seems like theres a lot of potential in this WR class to get a couple players who turn out to be stars.
Assuming they don't recruit Foster anymore I would be happy if they got any of the WR's out of this group: Quick, Allen, Treadwell, and Gibson in that order. I hope they can land 3 of them.
On defense, this isn't a must get but I'd love it if they could find a way to land Cravens. He's a game changer at the Safety spot, especially with all the talent they have up front. Look at the 2 defenses in the NFL that have been good consistently for a long time, the Steelers and Ravens. They both have this in common, a good pass rush and a super star at Safety. A game changing Safety like that is the difference between a good D and a great one.
JT Barrett for me since it sounds like Foster isn't going to happen.
...I heard Bailey doesn't have us in his top 3 now, so Barrett may be the main (dual-threat) QB

Joey Bosa
JT Barrett & Anzalone...
I was really up in the air between Barrett and Treadwell, but I don't think many teams are in the running for a guy like Barrett each year, so he's my guy. I'm not feeling overly confident about getting Smith at LB, and we have some need there. I think Anzalone is the next best guy.
As some other people have also said I don't think there is a guy on the list now that is a must get at this point in time. We aren't really hurting for a super star guy at any position imo at this point in time. Tressel didn't leave Meyer nothing he did recruit pretty well, he just left the O-line a little hurt. But the two guys I would want the most is JT Barret simple to be able to have a QB get a year or two under his belt before he starts not a big fan of true freshmen QB's starting. And on defense I just really like Bosa seems like a great kid and is a impressive DE.
I think this class is loaded with guys who can be termed "must gets" like Jaylon Smith, Anzalone, Bosa, Green, Barrett,Treadwell, Foster, Pocic, Gibson, Quick, Bell, Cravens, Heuerman, Love etc... and I really like where we stand with a lot of those guys.
That said on offense Urban will bring in the athletes he needs and you never know how some of these guys will turn out as we have often seen a lot of guys are over valued while other are under valued. I think wide out is the easy pick in this class to target as must get and Treadwell is at the top of my list followed closely by Gibson, Foster, and Quick. In particular Foster, I hope he gets a chance to redeem himself and get his recruitment back on track, thats of course assuming that it was just immaturity that caused the staff to cool on him. But I think the biggest must get comes down to JT Barrett and Derrick Green. With Braxton only going to be a sophomore and tons of depth at running back its a tough call. But I give it to Green the kid has been impressive every step of the way I think he can step in as a freshman, even without depth at running back, and be Clarrett esque and really take the team to the next level I think he will be a really special player. I also think he's one of the most underrated recruits in the country right now and it wouldn't surprise me to see five stars next to his name come signing day.
On Defense I think we are very well off all across the board right now, but I think after the haul we brought in at linebacker that is a real strength and will be so while I would love to sign Smith, Anzalone, and Love if we miss on any of those guys I don't think it will kill us. Joey Bosa is about as must get as they and I really hope he is a Buckeye soon and feel good about our chances after the visit today. But I agree with @ericbo a game changing safety can make a great defense an unbelievable one. So I think Cravens or Bell are the biggest must gets on Defense with Bosa being right up there as well.
From a need standpoint (outside perspective), I don't know how it could be anyone but Pocic.
All the big names will be great additions, but your secondary is stacked, your Dline (last year included) are elite guys, Gibson is 99.9% Buckeye and you have Marshall, and your runningbacks are solid. Any weakness has to be Oline, IMO.
Those who stay will be CHAMPIONS!
~Bo Schembechler
Hail, that's a good point. O Line depth is still an issue. Pocic would be a huge addition. I'm not sure I'd say our secondary is "stacked." It seems we could use more true CBs, although we do have Cam Burrows and Eli Woodard already on board for 2013, and we have Armani Reeves and Najee Murray coming this Summer. Okay, I'll shut up now...
Offense - Treadwell
Defense - Bosa
Offense-Pocic & Treadwell
Defense-Bosa
I completely agree that a great safety is a game changer when it comes to a great defense and Cravens is that guy. I will say that I have full confidence in Najee Murray. Murray is the kind of safety I want on my team, kid hits like a train. Youtube the hits he put on some Cardinal Mooney players, kid lays the wood.
Offense - Pocic
Defense - Dymonte Thomas. I know his Twitter is all blue, but I want him so badly. A more realistic must-get for me is Anzalone
Pocic really is all... Urban and company are doing an incredible job and im sure when it all shakes out we will have a top 10 class. We will miss on a few guys we really want. However we will have a top ten class and with mariotti and everyone else they will be studs on the field!
mark may wins douchebag of the year... again
Offense- Pocic (obvious big time need)
Defense- Su'a Cravens / Jaylon Smith
Abosolutely love the way both of these two explode to the ball and make impact plays. Both are very top tier guys!
A lock down corner - may already have.
A enforcer safety - may already have. Really need two.
A couple good OLB prospects.
A couple good DT prospects.
A ready to go OT - Lisle may be the guy but we need another.
A ready to go OG.
Two QBs to start learning the system.
A WR who is a deep threat, can create seperation can block and has great hands. Prefer two of these. I don't want any more WRs who don't have great hands.
A great TE prospect to replace Stoney - may already have.
A RB/receiver playmaker - I'll take two and we may already have both.
Edit: I forgot a kicker. A kick ass kicker.
I gotta agree with this...
Before, I would have said Rob Foster, but after the reports have surfaced about his "attitude," I'm willing to settle for Treadwell instead (and it would be nice to block TSUN :-) ).
AS for defense, I'd say Jaylon Smith or Joey Bosa, and give the notch to Smith. With the defensive line haul we had last year, Bosa isn't as pressing as picking up a top-notch LB.
Unfortunately, I don't think we land either (i.e., Treadwell or Smith) :-(
Pocic first and foremost then either Foster or Treadwell. Treadwell would be nice on 2 counts (getting a playmaker and getting a kid that most tsun faithful think is thiers) Then id go a heir apparent to Braxton in JT.
Defense is surely not as pressing but id go Bosa,Smith,Bell in that order.
@Hail that is a really good point. In light of that I would also put Pocic in "must get" position #1 for offense. Especially because I think whoever Urban ends landing at WR he will get 3-4 guys who he is happy with and who are the playmaker types he needs. That said I would still love it if we were able to sneak Treadwell away from you guys. For all of the obvious reasons, but also because he has been as impressive off the field as he is on it.
My order of "must-gets" (in quotes because no one is truly must get)
Offense: Pocic, Barrett (only 2 offensive guys in my mind because it's always good to have really talented QBs and we have a big need on the line)
Defense: Smith, Fuller, Hargreaves (Bosa is great but d-line is not a big need so not a must get. I think Smith is the best defensive player out there except maybe Nkemdiche and again we don't need d-line although LB isn't too big of a need either, but a great athlete like him as a lb is hard to come by. the cbs are needs in my mind because we are solid at safety and it is easier to transition a guy like burrows over there than it would be to bring thompson to cb.)
It seems unlikely that we get any of the defensive guys, but I am not too broken about it because the bigger needs are definitely on offense, and we might get both of those...
Without throwing out a ton of names this is hard to answer, but i'll throw a few out there: On offense 1) James Quick- would LOVE to add him along with Foster but with his status uncertain i think we gotta land Quick. If you watch his film you see he just has that "it", i think he's a potential top 5 pick (rarity among wr's). 2) I want Green because of his talent, but we're loaded @ rb so he would be a luxury.3) I take our 3 Qb's as is if need be, but that o-line is still lacking depth so give me Pocic and Lazard. If someone told me the only other defensive recruits we'll land would be Jaylon Smith and Vonn Bell then color me satisfied. Smith seems to be a longshot however so a combination of Love and Kimbrough would be righteous!
Edit: Don't know how i forgot Bosa!
^^^^^^^^^
I agree 100% about Quick. I don't know about a top 5 pick but that's because of how rare it is among WR's. But he's my favorite WR that Urban is targeting. I want him on the Bucks badly.
Offense Pocic
Defense Bosa
