Michigan recruits, Willie Henry and Tom Strobel (both DLmen) helped North beat the South 21-16 tonight in the state high school all-star game. After the game, Henry was asked about him and Strobel returning to Ohio Stadium in November as Wolverines:
"It won't be different except I'll have a blue jersey on," Henry said with a smile. "I'll still come out of here with a victory."
Has it now become a requirement, if a kid wants to play for Michigan, that he must run his mouth before he even steps foot in Ann Arbor?

They take after Morris. I'll be glad to see him get the Tate Forcier treatment.
I'm not sure why this upsets people. Would you expect anything less from a kid committed to play for OSU's rival? I think we would hear the same type of talk from OSU guys too. Sure it comes across more douchey because these are future UM players, but it doesn't really bother me. Let them run their mouths all they want. Talk is cheap if it can't be backed up on the field. We'll see how it works out for them come November.
In honor of 4/20, I can't wait to smoke their ass!
Tough times never last, tough people do
Stop being so damn senstive...its all in the spirit of the rivalry. OUR recruits have, and will, do it too. Hypocrisy is not a good trait.
Everyone keeps saying our guys do it too, maybe I'm missing something
Urban Warfare
Hell, our recruits last year were doing it too.
The title of this Forum post, the first paragraph, and the quote are "straight reporting" - simply documenting another example of trash talking from a particularly chatty group of incoming Wolverines. I'm not upset or sensitive about it - in fact, I like that they're talking so much smack. It does them no good so whatsoever, while possibly adding a little fuel to the fire for the good guys.
As for my rhetorical question at the end - I have not seen any examples of incoming Buckeyes talking trash, whereas we're seeing a relatively high volume of such chatter from Wolverine recruits.
Guys, come on. Find me a quote from an OSU recruit saying "There will be blood on the field and it won't be mine." I don't mind a little trash talk and confidence saying I look forward to winning etc. etc. but it seems like a lot of Michigan guys are taking it too far before they even get to campus.
I agree with REDSTORM45...I just don't hear this type of talk from Buckeyes...but, Meyer probably runs a tighter ship than Fred Flinstone.
Enough of this crap from Michigan players. You've won 1..ONE, uno, games vs OSU in the 8 tries, 2 in the last decade....get over yourselves. In terms of recent success, Michigan is a joke. Until last year, Kansas had more BCS wins than them.
I haven't heard one OSU recruit come out and make Morris, Kalis, Pipkens, or the two princes above type of statements. It is simply having some class. If there are links to such talking I would be interested where they are. Also, it's one thing for a current player, as in one that has actually played a collegiate game to talk, but these scUM guys are recruits. Sounds ridiculous for them to say anything remotely close to what they have said. Play a game first then state who and how you will beat someone. As I have said before, these guys are getting this bravado from someone during their recruitment. What is in their head is coming out of their mouths.
The swagger is back on both sides of the ball.
Class of 2008
Morris, Kalis, Pipkins, Strobel; our guys just aren't doing it. Not that I care, though. It'll just make our victory a little sweeter.

Have to agree about the over-sensitivity. If a kid says his team will win against a rival, that's not really trash talking to me. He won't even be on the field this year. When he starts guaranteeing victories and taking shots at you guys, then I'll be concerned. And it's not like Kalis wasnt instigated, but that is a little much for a high school kid to be saying.
Those who stay will be CHAMPIONS!

It's not "sensitivity" lol, that's for girls, just pointing out facts.
The talk goes both ways. What he said was nothing IMO. Our guys do it too. It's just a way to get fans on their side pumped up. Now lets get to this Spring Game and have some fun!!!!
Forget all the talk, it means absolutely nothing!!!!
Let's see what transpires on the field. Or as Speilman likes to say "once you get hit in he mouth"!
Run_Fido's favorite word is strawman.
Agree with redstorm. I haven't seen our guys do it. I'm glad it's their kids saying it though and not ours -- just gives Urban and the players more incentive to take care of business.
@Hail: Being over-sensitive would imply that I have feelings. Feelings are for women so your argument is invalid. Good day!
"if irony were made of strawberries, we' d all be drinking a lot of smoothies right now."
Nobody mentioned it yet, but he won't have a blue jersey on when he returns to a football field in Ohio.
It will be a white road jersey.
Haha M Man this is why we appreciate you here
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
I dont really consider that to be trash talk either. I did have to smile though because they are both DL and, well, Ill take our DL. At least they may see the field on the DL in Ohio Stadium if they play for Blue.
Eh, nothing to see here. Let them talk, all that matters will be the scoreboard. Plus, didn't we have a coach, who before he coached a single practice, basically talked trash ? Granted it was in his own Golly Gee kind of way, but he more or less guarranteed victory to the crowd at the basketball game right off the bat.
It's called whistling past the graveyard. They know what's coming.
@BTALBERT25
He just said "you will be proud of our young people on the football field in Ann Arbor". He never guaranteed victory, just expected us to do well. And do well we did. :)
What a dumbass. Visitors wear white jerseys!
Class of 2010.
Wow,he sound 's like a "RENTAL OUTHOUSE"~~~~~~~Full o'shit !
The buckeye recruits are talking like the UM recruits but I guarantee they are thinking the same thing! Heck, Bosa is already saying TTUN. Not trash talk but a little instigation!
