For anyone interested, here's somewhat of a compilation of track times for commits/prospects that may fit the bill in terms of "playmakers". Some of these guys have only ran a season or two. Also, keep in mind what grade they were in when they ran a time. (This is not a comprehensive list, just the guys I could easily find)

Quick has some good times for his 10th grade year. Mashalls times are his 9th grade year and I really hope he is much faster then his times. A 55 second+ 400 is bad, girls can run that fast. I watched a white guy run a 49 last week after he ran the mile 1 race before. But having said that as we saw with Saine track speed doesn't always mean they will be good football players. Saine never really never showed his potential. He had to wiggle only straight line speed. Also I would be more concered with each players quickness not overall top speed. With a lot of bubble screens, crossing routes and all the other short routes they use quickness is probably more important IMO then burner top end speed.
Hey, white guys can be fast, too lol
Jeremy Wariner :-D
This white kid is fast, he runs the mile in like 4:10 or something he won the DI state title last year as a junior. He doesn't even look like he is going that fast. But he is going to Penn State for Track so boo to him.
I'm a white dude and ive ran 47 in college : )
Thats pretty fast 47, I am not saying white dudes can't run fast, just more often then not they aren't as fast black guys. 400 times thought to me aren't as critical, 100 and 200 times are probably better evulation of football speed but could be wrong.
the "white kid" has the fastest 100 time
Your right on Alex Root. The 100m is probably the best outdoor track indicator and the 60m indoors is probably even better. Short burst acceleration (first 2-3 steps) are the most critical to get separation. I've played football with sprinters that I absolutely destroyed on the track, but I had trouble keeping up with them in short spaces. Theres a big difference between running fast on a synthetic track to running fast on grass in pads and a helmet.
Had no idea Devon Allen was so fast in the 100M.
