How many Top 150 recruits do you think we will land for the 2013 recruiting class? Does anyone know how many Top 150 recruits we have been averaging per class and what is the most we have ever had in a class over the last 10-20 years? It just seems like we are going to have a lot of elite talent coming in or I just never paid that much attention. Thanks and have a great weekend!

Alex, how many stars was the Hawkster?
I'm pretty sure Hawk was a three star, not positive. If I'm right goes to show how little stars can matter.
In reagard to Top 150 guys (I assume you mean ESPN), without knowing for sure I would guess OSU over the years has gotten around 5 a class give or a take a couple any given year. But ESPN absolutely in the last 6 years or so, ever since the SEC got really hot, chronically over values southern SEC guys. Some accuse ESPN of having a OSU bias, and a common argument its that it happens because we are probably the biggest program that doesn't have an affiliated ESPN page. So while it definitely nice to pick up ESPN 150 guys, I usually when looking how highly a guy is rated, just average out all the major sites (espn, scout, rivals, 24/7) ratings for a given player.
That said, I would say we usually get a few more guys (1-2) off the other sites top players list, but that again just varies per year.
Not really an answer to your question, but my favorite recruiting list is Athlon AC100 which is a composite of all the other sites. As the name implies the list doesn't make it to 150, but if you get a prospect off that list you know you're getting a top athlete.
Agree with corveyer ^ You really have to use all the sites to get a solid list and a real idea of the talent. Even though they are newer IMO 24/7 sports has done the best job rating at least in 2011 (which I consider to be their first true year in recruiting) as far as having the freshman who dominated their freshman season (Braxton, Thomas, Watkins, Lynch, Chickillo) as ranked near the top. Rivals would probably my #2 pick they always seem to do a solid job as well and continue to rerank players based on performance. ESPN ranks players based on who is playing in the under armor all american game as well as SEC offers, and southern talent. They really enjoying underrating midwest players (especially ohio) every year that clearly deserve a higher ranking. I enjoy following recruiting as much as anyone checking out how many stars players are but at the end of the day reguardless of stars or numbers you have to trust that Urban is gonna bring in elite talent and find the sleepers (Jamal Marcus)
Hawk was a 3 star, but for some reason I think it had alot to do w/ a injury otherwise he would have been ranked higher....
We probably are only going to be getting 2 or 3 more 150 level guys a year honestly. Tressel did a great job recruiting and bringing in top flight talent. 2-3 more top 100 type guys moves his classes from top 10 to top 5 every year. I just hope those 2-3 are on the OL
I won't do a list of this cause it's hard to judge as there are so many sites and they really only started doing this 150 within the last decade or so. Just know that the talent will be there in droves
