Not sure if you seen this, but Cravens has now said he will announce his commitment on June 6th his moms birthday. He then tweeted he is trying to make unofficial visits. Not the best ideal situation for us schools not on the West coast. He has confirmed he is taking an unofficial visit to Michigan, I was wondering if any of the OSU recruiting services have heard he will do both on the same trip?
I'm not sure what you know about OSU but we are not in the West, nor are we on a coast...
Sorry meant hurts schools not on West coast. Correction fixed, but you totally missed the point of the question.
No, you seem to be confusing "missed the point", with "if I knew something I would answer, but like pretty much everyone else, I don't." But since you insist, no, no news of any extended midwest trip, so I wouldn't get my hopes up.
Idk about unofficial, but it has been known for awhile now that USC, Michigan, and OSU are set to receive 3 of his official visits, as well as Nebraska (I believe). Can't remember the 5th off the top of my head.
@SCARLET Cravens is deciding in early June now, so it looks like he probably won't take officials.
^^^^^ Now there's an example of missing the point. The kid is now planning to announce before he can take any official visits. So now all of his previously planned official visits are null and void. It sounds like he's going to make an effort to make unofficial visits to the schools he's most interested in... but Michigan is the only one in the Midwest he has confirmed via Twitter.
EDIT: Buck I.8 types faster than I do. I was responding to Scarlet above.
@COMMAND that's really a shame, because I peck the keyboard with two fingers like a giant asshole
Everywhere I have looked I've seen that USC is far and away the favorite. Even the folks at MGoBlog have conceded that he is going to be a USC (except for the few dreamers who hold out hope). I'd put his list as USC (95%), TTUN (4%), and OSU (1%) in that order.
EDIT: Find me someone that announces his decision date without knowing his decision. Aside from Marcus Baugh, show me someone who has decided without having visited the school. It's a long uphill climb
@DMCDOUGAL This may just be splitting hairs, but I think he likes Nebraska more than Michigan. He and Mathis have mentioned it fairly often, and Mathis especially likes them a lot. So I'd say 90% USC, 6% Nebraska, 3% UM, 1% Other.
I don't disagree with USC being his far and away front runner... and the speculation is that he moved up his commit date because he was worried that the USC class was filling up. But any visit from an elite prospect outside of your region is a win for your program, even if he does not commit... gets media attention... and the attention from other good recruits from around the country.
I read that he has a prior relationship with ttun and has positive vibes with the coaching staff. Nebraska could be higher I suppose, but I never saw them as a real player. Splitting hairs indeed since we're talking such a small percentage.
I am very confident he won't end up at Michigan. Its USC or OSU
- Respect the Rivalry -
I would say USC is the clear favorite. I never really heard much of Nebraska until Mathis visited there. Until he says he visiting OSU I put them at 1%, Michigan a 5-10% and the rest is for USC to lose. Even if he would commit to a non west coast team, USC will be in his ear for his whole senior year of football. So always a scary commit.
I'd say we have a 100000000x better chance with Bell. He's all USC.
I would rather have Vonn Bell anyway. Hes a far more productive safety and a pipeline into GA will be important with the talent coming out of that state in the coming years.

Surprisingly Vonn Bell hasn't been mentioned much here. It seems Alex prefers Cravens and hasn't discussed Vonn, in fairness to him, other than to say he doesn't have much to say. As fluid as that kid looks, with the ball hawking ability he shows on film, I'll take him too UABuckeye. 180 tackles in his junior year with 119 of them solos is a baller. Plus on the interview on here recently he gave glowing reviews of Urban and the Bucks. Unless his grades are iffy, go after him full speed ahead.
Bell looks sweet. At least from his highlight film he is probably one of the best tackling safetys ive seen in a while. One play this RB was running full speed and Bell stopped the kid in his tracks and decleated him it was pretty impressive. Either one of them would be a great addition to this team
UAbuckeye
Cravens>Bell
But it's not like you're a getting a bad player at all in Bell.
California>Georgia
Again it's not like it's a huge drop off. Just in my opinion would rather have a pipeline to California than to Georgia.
A pipeline in CA isn't a pipeline at all because USC is gonna have pick of the litter regardless. On the other hand the top to players in the country,Nkemdiche and R.Foster, are both from GA. Neither of which will be attending UGA. CA pipeLine is a pipeDream.GA gives you a realistic shot at their top tier kids

Think Cravens is all USC, but I think OSU is in very good shape for Bell and with all these early committments and Bell saying he wants to commit sooner rather than laters, I think Bell commits to OSU before the fall.
Forgive me, but I honestly didn't know that Official visits could only be scheduled after the student-athlete completes his 1st day of classes Senior year. Did not know that. Was wondering why there haven't been any Officials, lol.
My mistake. I pride myself on being better / mor eknowledgeable about this stuff than most.
@Itsmich,
Whether California is > Georgia depends on what > means. Certainly, California produces more BCS prospects than Georgia, but that is largely a product of its size. As far as the quality of football being played in each state, I'd say that both produce some of the top prospects in the country. Trying not to threadjack any further, but I can't help but say that what Richt hasn't done with all the quality players coming out of Georgia is pitiful. UGA should be a perrenial power in the SEC. Gotta wonder when that seat of his starts heating up.
ND recruits well out of California. Michigan has pulled a few kids from their over the year. It's not impossible.
Ahh Saturday
I would almost argue its harder to pull kids from Georgia than California. One football is biiger in the Midwest/South. I feel it's harder to pull a kid from Georgia who is in the heart of the SEC with Alabama, LSU, GA, Arkansas, Florida, SC after these kids with easy travel distance. At least in California you have the one major program in USC and you're equal to everyone else thats not west coast that is fighting the distance factor.
And because of its size I'm arguing that California is better with more overall talent. As a buckeye poster pointed out its huge getting a recruit from Cali just to visit as it puts your program in the news with other recruits. Even more obviously when you land one.
Its not about who we want in this case. Its about who wants us. TOSU would take both of them if they wanted in. IMO our best shot is with Bell. Either way, both are Studs!!
