- Joey Bosa has committed to Ohio State
- Lewis Neal has committed to Ohio State (Neal is being recruited as a linebacker and takes what would have been Courtney Love's spot in the class)
- Tennessee offers Chavas Rawlins
- Virginia offers Josh McNeil
- RB Derrick Green says that yes Clemson is in front, but Michigan will be hard to say no to
- WR James Quick says Ohio State draws even with Louisville following Saturday's visit
- Clemson offers Andrew Brown
- Stanford offers Da'Shawn Hand
- Derrick Ansley from Tennessee visits Jalen Ramsey
- UCLA offers Kain Daub
- Pittsburgh offers Reon Dawson
Scout $ - Trubisky Adds Tennessee Offer
- By Scott.....Also recaps his Spring Game visit to Ohio State. Plans on making a decision before his season.

The question becomes, are we done adding defensive recruits? 13 with around 16-17 schollies open (maybe more). Gotta add another WR or two.
Neal is going to be playing LB for Ohio State
Outside of Bell and Jaylon I think defense is done. This class is gonna be crunched cus were at 13 now and still looking at Gibson, Quick, Heuerman, Pocic, at least 1 more OL, and possibly a few more.
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
Jaylon Smith has in if he wants....as does Dymonte Thomas, Vonn Bell, or Su'a Cravens......
other than that I think you see 1-2 more WRs, a TE (Heuerman), 2 OL, maybe another QB, and maybe another RB (looking more doubtful though)...that would be 18-20 and where I think this class will sit
We need a Safety and an OLB, other than that I think DEF should be closed. Offensively Heuerman should commit soon putting us at 14. The remaining 4 or 5 should be S, WR, WR, OL, OL. I still think Derrick Green is a can't miss but we are full at RB.
- Respect the Rivalry -
With Anzalone being a OLB and Neal most likely being OLB, I'd prefer to shut down at OLB unless it's Jaylon Smith (he is an OLB right?)
Agree with you that OL and WR are the big targets now.
Alex, do you think Urban will now start a more of a slow process now, since his class is over 60% full? It's 10 months from signing day. Also, how is this class ranked so far?
I think Neal is being brought in to be a pass rusher. I assume he will be in the 3pt as a DE as well as an OLB.
- Respect the Rivalry -
Yes, OLB is done unless Smith commits. My guess to remaining:
DeMarcus Ware type of player
@Doc I believe with Bosa we jumped over Alabama for 6th on Rivals. But don't quote me.

We are 5th on 247, still a long time from now til NSD though
@Jedkat, thanks. Who is number one?
scUM I would assume. Remember, these player rankings are going to shift like crazy with camps and their senior seasons.
Yeah, Jedkat, who is number one?
Those who stay will be CHAMPIONS!

Thompson with another year could be a top safety prospect, although if Bell wants in you can't say no. Kids a monster

Hail I believe osu has the edge on um on average star rating. Not that it matters though you can't judge a class until they've graduated really

24/7 Top 5:
A couple of my Michigan (cringe) friends are getting all defensive...listing off O-Line recruits saying our D-Line won't be able to touch their QB. Pro style beats spread. They'll have a better class, etc. etc. lol icing on top getting under their skin.
Alex, does this mean Kimbrow is out?
Yes Kimbrow is out. Smith is the last LB prospect for this cycle that has a chance of getting in.
@hail, quit poking the bear. Everytime you come into a thread you always gotta start with a poke. U of M is #1 because of the # of recruits that have commited and thats it. You will have a great class none the less.
@Recruitbuck, That Disappoints me. I would have loved to see him in this class.
Its probably the only time they will be ranked #1 in football, so let them have their fun with it.
@Recruitbuck, you seem to be in the 'know'- any idea about Dorian Bell on the sidelines saturday? I know I've heard about him just being there to support his ex-teammates ect, but is there any more to this? I'd like to hear your thoughts.
I didn't see him. I was on the west sideline by the linemen warmups during pregame, which was the only time they let recruits on the field (temp passes). I did see Lewis Neal and family, Anzalone, JB, Hurst Jr, and Wheelwright (and a bunch of other guys as I walked back up). Honestly, there were a lot of big guys down there. It wouldn't surprise me though, these are his bros.
Tracy Sprinkle to enroll early.
So now Green is bitter that OSU if full at RB and he's seriously considering Mich? Good riddance
"Love my State, hate the football"
JT Barrett is going to enroll early. Both per Twitter.
I really think we are done with the defensive line. After the Bosa and Neal commitments, we really are finished. Since we already have 13 commitments, I say we get about 18-19 recruits in end. Here are the last 6 I think we get:
Heuerman
Pocic
Gibson
Devon Allen
Bell
Quick
And one big name recruit that we will get down the stretch
Very possible list except I think its 2 of Gibson, Allen and Quick and go for another OL recruit.
Favorite Buckeye: Obviously BJ Mullens
Green from an Eddie George idolizing, Buckeye lean, to being high on Michigan? Seems like he may be a little resentful right now.

No shock Michigan is number one they have what 16 commits already? They'll probably be number 1 on Rivals when they come out too. One thing I will say though, I don't like 247's ratings anymore than ESPN. I just don't think they are that great.
Rivals is pretty much the only one I really like, I'll go to Scout now and then, but I think they are more inclined to over rate players.
I like 247's ratings fine, but I think their class ranking algorithm puts a lot of emphasis on quantity, which isn't always the best measure of quality. (Calm down, Michigan fans, that's directed less at your constant gloating and more at the fact that Bama/SEC teams have higher ranked classes because they oversign)
My dislike for 247's ratings and my opinion about Michigan's class aren't tied together. I believe, for now, Rivals will have them number 1 as well. I just don't care for 247.
Why, exactly? Most of the guys at 247 are former evaluators from the other services, A LOT of ex-rivals guys? Can you give some empirics about what you don't like with the ratings? Just curious
Added some last bits for today
If OSU will have him Trubisky is a buckeye. If not I think he will end up at Tennessee he visited a few weeks ago and really enjoyed the coaching staff
