Sounds new. I'm holding back any bad jokes I have out of respect for Joe Paterno.
Dustin Fox was our leading tackler as a corner.... because his guy always caught the ball.
WE ARE...
unoriginal
I am interested to see what their alma mater is. I imagine its something by Michael Jackson.
Sorry, I could not stop myself....
"if irony were made of strawberries, we' d all be drinking a lot of smoothies right now."
What a novel idea!
Nor should you Gray. To hell with Penn State as a team and an institution.
4-6 seconds from point A to point B and when you get to point B, be pissed off
I'm surprised they weren't already doing this. I thought this was pretty much a standard practice among most teams. Do you think someone suggested this to O'Brien with the words 'Hey coach I think if we sing the alma mater after home games it will really unite the team and the fan base in the wake of, well you know what happened in the showers, back there (and points to the locker room).'
They need to drop some of the old traditions like pedafilia.
I bet the previous coaching staff would have done this with a 1980-something Econo-Creep Van, with a painted ski mural on the back windows. Okay, I'm done.
"You win with people." - Woody Hayes
The PSU alma mater's lyrics are mostly about fracking, right? Because that's all that surrounds the town at this point.
Taquitos.
I think that is a great idea. They should also have the band spell Pennsylvania on the field. or they could all drive up to lake Erie, boat out to the middle and jump in and drown!
O'brien is starting to look like a dumbass and I am loving it. Here's to 10 years of kicking their ass over and over again!
Eh, I don't have much of a problem with this. It's a cool tradition that Tressel started doing, but I'd be pretty surprised if we were the first team to do this.
If we are, I'll eat crow but not sure why we are on our high horse if we were not the first ones anyways...
Don't have any problem with this at all. Singing Carmen after a win or loss is always great, and I'm glad other students will get to enjoy doing the same thign elsewhere.
As long as they're not singing Shaggy's "It Wasn't Me"..
If you ain't a Silver Bullet, you're a target
Yea, we all know all PSU players are rapists because an old coach is, some of these posts are completely written by -ppl i disagree with-.
Yea, "what a novel idea"... we started doing this like a whopping 10 years ago. Gimme a break people.
My favorite PSU gameday tradition was the obligatory pick 6 they threw (or TAINT, for those of you who read Simmons) every time we played them. This tradition was started and perfected by Anthony Morelli (i think he had 3-4 in 2-3 years as their starter) and McGloin (he's got MOXY though!) kept the tradition alive two years ago. Here's hoping they re-institute that tradition this season!
When told OSU set school record for 50+ games this year, UFM said "That's good. We're gonna break that next year."
Hey, I was just joking about the other traditions but still think O'brien is an idiot. The pedifile stuff should be left alone, just like those kids should have been!
Tankman has given us our comeuppance. Shame on you guys.
@Brewstersmillions
Absolutely. Man, I hate Penn State. Hate their fans so much. The only fanbases they compete with for "most classless" are LSU, and Wisconsin. And of course Michigan. :)
Carmen Ohio is the best alma mater in the country...no doubt in my mind
O'Brien added later that the new tradition will include holding hands while singing, cuddling, and hot chocolate in the locker room after the game.
@Trig at least it isn't in the shower.
I don't always take names when I kick ass but when I do, they most often belong to a Wolverine.
I heard a funny line the other day.. on a scale from casey anthony to jerry sandusky, how much do you like kids? I couldn't help but laugh, but that is awful!!
@GABuckeheye, funny but sad.
Hmm...I wonder what tradition that reminds me of...
Class of 2010.
