From 610 WTVN radio interview. Do not know if this is ok to post this. If not please remove it. Matt Hayes is a douche deluxe. He sounds like he is 15 years old. How defensive can he be?

I like when the interviewer asks him if he has examples of Meyer doing bad things or not being a good guy, and Hayes says 'well, did you read the article?" Hayes says he got many players to speak about Meyer but they were 'afraid' of what could happen to them and didn't want to go on record or whatever. The only example he had was this Thomas kid with the medical hardship, who comes across as a kid who is still mad at Urban. The kid basically says in the report : Meyer is a GREAT coach, He's just not a NICE guy.
I also loved where Hayes and the interviewer go back and forth about who is telling the truth or lying, cause both sides can't both be telling the truth. And Hayes says : "You're not gonna get me to say Urban Meyer is a liar, if thats what youre trying to do." Seems like in his report he was basically already saying as much, just not in those specific words.
F Matt Hayes. I used to love the Sporting News, but didn't renew after reading his smug comments about the B1G & OSU in last year's CFB preview. He was over-the-top and enjoying the hard times OSU was going through.

Kyle Dodson shared some insight that backs Gee's statement that the piece was bad journalism.

Matt Hayes has about as much credibility as George Dorkman. When all you've got is a single disgruntled player (in the case of Hayes' article), and an anonymous source (in the case of Dorkman's article), sorry but that just doesn't fly. Both of their articles equate to slander IMO.
I listened to that interview that day....I was surprised the guy was so defensive. The radio host was not trying to get him to say anything other than just asking basic questions. Hayes might be a great writer but he came across as a butt hole. I thought he was embarrassing to say the least.
What a coward. If you're gonna do a smear job at least do it with some CONVICTION! He was all mr. big shot when he published the article, at least have the courage to stand behind it.

If you guys wanna hear something that might make you wanna vomit, take a listen to Mike Bianchi, a sports writer from Orlando, a graduate of Univ. of Florida, and noted Urban Meyer hater. He has a radio show and shortly after Hayes' article was published he has him on as a guest to talk about Urban Meyer. In this interview Hayes references the interview he had with a radio station in Columbus (which I assume was WTVN). Again I give you fair warning, but clearly both of these guys hate Urban yet REALLY like one another.

First off, I'm not entirely convinced Urban Meyer is clean. I'm actually pretty sure some shady things went on while he was at Florida. But no more so than happens at any other D1 program... I have a cousin who was a backup linebacker at Wisco. Relatively clean program, but he said violations happened all the time. Probably the same with Florida back then (and now for that matter). Small violations that everyone does so the NCAA turns a blind eye.
Second, I go to Notre Dame, and we can equal your hate for Matt Hayes right now, because a few weeks prior to his Urban-Bashing he published a 3-page article with literally zero factual basis all about how ND is irrelevant. (which is why you need to write an article right?). Matt Hayes is a hack who probably bought his way into a job at Sporting News and now just looks for sore spots he can inflame around the country to get clicks.
Wow, nothing like a bitter, amateurish, immature pair of so called media "professionals" using their opportunity to make a guy pay for leaving their team high and dry. They mention Tim Tebow "putting up with this" but conveniently haven't happened to interview him about any of it. Only person with a name to this has an axe to grind. Strange how that works. Glad you posted that TennBuckeye19. You would think a lot of Gator fans would have enough backbone to speak up about the issue. I know some have but as always the haters have the loudest voices.
Chubler, I don't doubt that things went on at Florida, just as I don't doubt that violations occur at most if not all college football programs. The thing that upsets me is the hack job journalism of Hayes and his ilk where they pass off speculation as truth. I'm not fully convinced that Urban Meyer runs a completely clean program or that he's a completely honest person. I'm also not convinced that it is possible to run a big time college football and be completely clean or that you can be a big time coach and be completely honest. I want to see an investigative report written for EVERY top 10-20 program in football and see what is uncovered. I think we would see that there is stuff going on everywhere. The only difference is the level and degree of violations and whether or not a program gets caught. It doesn't make it right if everyone else is doing it, but unfortunately it is the reality of the college football world.
Florida fans who complain or talk shit about Urban Meyer now are a lot like UK fans who talk shit about Rick Pitino. Much like Kentucky, Florida fans need to realize that Meyer saved their program. He won them 2 titles and made them one of the most dominant programs in college football for a few years. He made Florida relevant again. Not Chris Leake, Tim Tebow, Percy Harvin or anyone else. Urban Meyer did. Anyone who says otherwise is a fool. What do you think Tebow would of done had he played for Zook for several years? We may have never really known who the kid was.
