I disagree. Hail does come on here and say somethings that are fair. I don't agree with alot but he is not trolling. Real trolls have no true judgement and are so one sided. They can not be argued with or you will go crazy. They can be very unrealistic. Hail shares his opinion and doesn't push his agenda. He and Mman comment very soundly.

Michigan still sucks though!

Hail isn't doing anything wrong and is civil around here....I personally don't care to read his comments that "hopefully we can just get the rest of the guys we want", well because I don't hope TSUN gets any of the guys they want haha

Actually Gedeon is an interesting case.  By all accounts, he is an extraordinarily high-character kid from Hudson, with a brother who plays for our off-field rival, Harvard.  ;-)  Michigan doesn't have any terrible personnel needs at linebacker, yet Hoke seems to be going out of his way to create space for kids that he and Mattison want as extremely capable athletes (Levenberry?) and team leaders/examples (Gedeon).

The quiet story, between Michigan and OSU, is to what extent Meyer tried to recruit Gedeon.  There was a Buckeye offer, and as far as I know it was a very serious, committable offer.  But I am not so sure that Michigan's getting Ben Gedeon is such a terrible defeat for the Meyer program at OSU.  The commit was not a surprise in Ann Arbor; he's a kid we've been waiting for.  The story of an OSU offer is one on which I defer to the experts at 11W.   

Hey Flip... No need to get nasty... I'm sorry that I could care less what any fan from TSUN has to say.  They have their site, and we have ours and that's how I like it.  Do we always get what we want in life?  Of course not but I can still wish for it....

Let's get a few things straight: 

I hate Ohio State.  I rarely support them in any way.  However, I have the upmost respect for Ohio State.  I occasionally throw in some (usually sarcastic) digs, but I behave on here, for the most part...just like Rational and M Man.  Do I speak up if I think that the consensus feeling about something Michigan is incorrect? Sure.  Do I complain about Brady Hoke fat jokes and Michigan insults...not once (here, at least).

It's kind of funny how this topic makes its way to a thread at least once a week.  Well, if I wear out my welcome, Mods, feel free to boot me.  Most of the regulars here are good conversation, though, and would be missed. 

Sometimes hearing the same things over and over at your team's board gets old and you need a perspective that's a little less homerish.  I see Buckeye fans (and ND, Alabama, MSU, PSU) in every Michigan forum I visit almost daily, and I'm fine with the ones who offer insight.  Heck, Fortmeyer reports what goes on at MGOBLOG once a week or whenever he feels like the Buckeyes are being shamed.  Don't worry, having a civil conversation with your enemy doesn't make you a fan of them.  Obviously we each have a vested interest in what's going on in the other's camp---if we didn't, we wouldn't be rivals.  This thread is exact proof of that, along with every OSU related thread on M boards.

Not a terrible insight, Hail. While I wish destruction and winlessness upon your team, thanks for commenting. 

And the sheer number of these comment threads (WHY IS A TSUN FAN ON OUR WEBSITE) is astounding. I have to think that a new one must get started by each new 11W reader when they get an account, like a rite of passage or something. Go Bucks! 

@Hail, doesn't this come up at LEAST once a week ("he's a troll, grrrr, get off our board"), every member is a die-hard tOSU fan, and as MUCH as I despise all things scUM, it is nice to get some persective and the going on's at scUM.  And I think what's going on in the B1G right now with recruiting and all the press is very good for a conference that's been down the last few years. 

That being said and moving on to the real subject, I think Urban really overloaded with linebackers in the 2012 recruiting class as it was a HUGE area of concern with us (and it was pointed out by Fickell as a position of need).  I just think they wanted Gedeon for the reason's listed (good kid, smart football player, etc) however I would say he was probably the fourth option behind Love, Anazlone, and Smith (of course).  I think scUM got a good LB and it's going to be fun playing mostly Ohio kids in the next few years (maybe we can start calling scUM....Northern Ohio Junior College with all the Ohio kids playing there??? <sarcastic dig>).

11W does a good job of making sure trolls don't last long on here.  The moderators do their job well.  This is one of the reasons I do frequent this site.  For the most part the comments are interesting and rarely go over the edge.  Hail, Mman, and Rational M are courteous and do engage in civil discussions.  Contrast that to M1EK, a PSU troll whom the moderators eventually banned - there is just no comparison.  While I understand the views of some of the posters not wanting rivals comments on here, I also enjoy the input when it is offered in the manner these three put forth.  I must admit, it gets a little annoying that they are called out so often, but I have to remember that this site is attracting new readers every day, and many just don't know the history and/or the rules.  Without exception the fans of other teams that come on here just trying to stir the ashes and pick a fight will not last long.  Trust your moderators!

This is perhaps the biggest reason that I just can not read too much on the newspaper sites that let the commentors run wild.  It just is not worth reading the crap in the comments generated by trolls on both sides.  I know the content on here is great, but the encouraged civility on the comments just makes this site the best option for everything Buckeye!
