Good article on Derrick: http://weblogs.dailypress.com/sports/college/accblog/2011/07/top_gun_cam...
Derrick Green looks like a must get for the Buck's. It seems like he's all Buckeye. Dunn, Green and Elliot could be a 3 headed monster for us.
Do we have a timeframe for commitment?

Don't forget about Warren Ball in there as well. Definitely not one to forget.
Derrick told me he wants his teammates to get more exposure to colleges so may wait a bit...talk about unselfish
^^^ true be to that
Amazing article. That's Heisman type work ethic and 24hr dedication.
He told Rivals today that Clemson has surpassed OSU as his leader.
Was asked about his comments to other sites in which he stated OSU was his clear leader, and he said things have changed.
While Clemson may be his flavor of the week, at the end of the day, I think if a kid grows up rooting for a team and gets an offer to play there, he's going to play there. True for any school. Hopefully Green ends up with the Buckeyes. Seems like a great kid, and a great talent!
@Ethan: I wish that was still the case, when kids say they rooted for a team these days it is not the same rooting we did. Kids are just not emotionally attached to their college teams like we were. ( I still want to believe kids in Michigan and Ohio are better at it than the rest of the country) I literally cried when Michigan lost to Northwestern in what people like to call,"the basketball game on the football field." I will not admit to crying in the 06 game but damn was I close lol and I was 21 at the time. I am sure some of you guys had your moments in tears as well. (1995 and 96 Michigan games)
I learned a few years back with the recruitment of Ronald Johnson and Nick Perry that it does not matter who a kid roots for. Those kids went to USC got enamored with the weather , pretty girls and I am sure a booster or two that helped them make their decision. ( I am positive those two got paid btw) Do not be surprised if something like that happened with Green at Clemson or anywhere else in the future.
I like Green, I hope he picks OSU. Kid is a beast. Modernday ManBearPig
Pretty dissapointing if we lose green to Clemson

I'd hate to lose him but at least clemson wouldn't be someone we'd see in the title game.
I like the other Green that the Bucks have offered, Ryan Green, maybe a little more than Derrick. Anyone know anything on Ohio State's chances of getting him?
His highlight video is unbelievable. Looks to have great speed and plays in Florida against good competition. It's St. Petersburg, not south Florida where there's a ton of talent, but still quality football all over the state.
I like Green alot but I have been told over and over that Urban was only gonna take 1 RB in this class and we already got Elliott. Please make room for this kid, he is a top player and great kid.
My view on clemson.
I really hope we land him, I also think he is a "must get." He is a no doubt a special player, but seems like a great hard working kid definitely someone you can build a team around. I now live in South Carolina and have a bunch of friends who are Clemson grads it would be devastating having to watch him that horrid orange and purple.
Honestly, I think Clemson is leader because he just visited there. I would be surprised if we are not his leader after he visits for the Spring Game.
He's scheduled to be in Ann Arbor this weekend for ours. I'd rather have Isaac and you and Clemson can fight over green.
Those who stay will be CHAMPIONS!

thanks for sharing
i wouldnt be so quick to count clemson out of a title game. they have a lot of young talent there
mark may wins douchebag of the year... again
You'd rather have Isaac than Green, Hail? I would much prefer Green. As Corveyer said, I think he is one of the "must-get" prospects, along with Anzalone and Pocic.
@Hail - He takes it to the house a lot but his team runs that counter play about 100 times and it seems like its the only one he scores on. Obviously his blockers must execute the play at a high level. I'm not saying he doesnt look fast and athletic but I don't think there's eneough diversity on the highlight film to label him the top RB in the country. **My opinion is completely based off his highlight film - I have never seen him play in person.
I would much rather have Green who can pound the ball between the tackles, but can also use his 4.4 speeds to turn the corner or go the distance. If The Hut plans on running a pro style offense, Green would be a much better fit (Dunn also if he was a good eneough recruiter to land him). Isaac is more of a scat back similar to the ones you've had for the past 5 years.

Green is all OSU and the only way he does not land at OSU is if Urban passes on him. Clemson is a second choice but he dreams of scarlet and grey!
I hope we get him but he said that Clemson is the leader and that scares me a bit. @HAYZE- I hope youre right and he does actually make it to the spring game and changes back to the bucks...
If we lose him, I'd much prefer seeing it to a nobody like Clemson that will never sniff the National Championship game. Better than an in-conference rival that could give us fits for years to come.
Don’t forget we just got Dunn and Ball. We may not need a RB in this class. Eze E could be it. Let us all be patient and trust the Urbanator.
Those who stay wil be .......Diinner!!
Brady Joke
FWIW Clemson had another 4 star RB commit to them last night. I cant imagine that competition will shy Green away from any school. I do think he is playing the recruiting game well. Even if Clemson has popped up on his radar. They don't have Urban Meyer, they don't have a top class thus far, they weren't childhood favorite, and most importantly they wont have Curtis Grant starting at MLB this fall.
He and Grant are good friends and the idea of starring with one of your good friends is always a big appeal. If Green goes elsewhere Urban will be very happy with Elliot as all of us should be, but I cant imagine if Green tries to commit we wont take him. Depth at running back is never a bad thing especially in the spread that Ohio State will run, more talent the better. IMO Green will be a Buckeye, and a special one.
I really hope he ends up at the spring game, I think that will bode well for tOSU.
Who's to say Green isn't doing that to get Clemson on campus to see a few of his teammates? He made it clear he wanted to use his recruitment to get his teammates looks.
I think he absolutely could be doing that, and it speaks a lot to him as a person, especially now a days with all the emphasis on committing early as possible.
Clemson pulls in a number of great recruits every year, but they never get over the hump on the field. In the end, I'll be surprised if Green doesn't choose OSU if UFM still has a spot for him. But recruiting always is unpredictable.
Interesting bit here, RB Wayne Gallman just committed to Clemson today, wonder if that will have any effect in the Derrick Green recruiting game.
Though I'm sure Wayne Gallman will be a nice addition to their ground game, we can speculate about the fact that he is from the same school as Robert Nkemdiche, a consensus top 3 prospect and Clemson target.
I think Robert will be going to Bama
I didn't say that means he's headed to Clemson, but if you're looking for a way to try and sway a top recruit, why not pick up one of his best friends? Just an observation
Yeah, I knew where you were coming from. Just stating how I felt on Robert.
I'm right with you there
A 3-star recruit having an impact on a solid 4-star recruit? I doubt it.
If that has an impact on Green's decision, the Elliott would probably eliminate us from contention.
I think the point is, would he rather share carries at the school he's loved forever, or the school he just recently became partial to. I think the idea was that he was supposed to be the feature back at Clemson..
