Well, considering it takes awhile to get a hold of a recruit, it was past 9PM, and the NFL draft was on, I think only he and his family know. Chill, there'll be news if it was important; there needn't be a thread for every tweet about OSU recruiting. The information will come eventually.

On topic, it looks like he's made a few comments about "just talked to so-and-so's coach" throughout the past couple weeks and I don't think much will transpire from this single conversation. Its got to be a good sign that they are talking, especially since he recently made a comment that he has only talked to Urban once

Don't tell me what to do Buckeyenation, the thread doesn't bother me (trust me, I want Green more than most other offensive commits), the timing was just a bit off (considering most writing staff would be writing about the draft, not investigating a phonecall to a kid past 9PM minutes before, it would be highly unlikely that he would answer any reporters)

"Don't be a jerk" is the golden rule of the commenting policy. I'm not sure I've done anything wrong besides delivering the straight truth [yes, that pisses people off sometimes, get over it], but the unwarrented attacks against me are unnecessary (@UpNorthBuckeye).
It is often difficult to determine one's tone, sarcasm, etc. when reading a message forum, but there are occasions where you come off as being somewhat harsh RecruitBuck. I don't think you intend to do it so I've given you the benefit of the doubt, but I could see where some interpret it negatively. Just something to think about
So you're saying I should sugarcoat things rather than telling the real truth? I don't speculate just based on guesses, I make predictions and am usually right.
So what if I'm blunt and am going to be firm on where I stand on things as far as they're reported. If you guys don't like that, that's your fault, not ground for attack. Sorry, you can't change my personality; I'm not a jerk, I just like to think that I know about what I'm typing about, which is why I'm often the first to report on here breaking commits (except Bosa/Neal, I was actually working at work) etc.

It's not that I don't like you guys (as UpNorthBuckeye seems to insinuate, I love you guys lol), it's that I usually know what I'm talking about. I love it here, after visiting Rivals/Scout/247 boards. This and TheOzone's forums are awesome, except there's typically more people commenting here.

I do agree that not every tweet deserves a thread. However, you can tell the truth while maintaining some level of civility, and without sounding like a dick. And how long should someone wait after reading a tweet before posting?
I think this guy read the tweet and thought that we had backed off of Green, but when the head coach is calling maybe that is contradicted a bit. He just wanted some update if there was one and I don't think he needed one that night, just as soon as anyone had heard anything.
Back on topic: I am interested to know what our standing is with him and how hard our staff is going after him, since a call indicates pretty solid interest.

If it was important, it will come out. There's nothing more to this than that. He than told me to relax, then I said that I was entirely relaxed, and everyone thought I was mad (wtf?).
Let's look at my sentences:
1st: the call was around nine, soon after this was posted, there were more things for writers to be focused on (first round of NFL draft). It was highly unlikely that anyone (writer wise) could get ahold of him at that leg of night.
2nd: Most tweets aren't important when it comes to recruiting. Fact. If it was important, it'll come out in a "Catching up with..." or quick bits. You aren't going to get instant info from a recruit so the thread was oddly timed.
3rd: Summary of second.
Where's the anger in those? UpNorthBuckeye?
He then told me to chill.
4th sentence (second response): I was entirely relaxed, there was no need to tell me to chill. What else was I supposed to say? If I had said "rawr I'm mad at you, rageragerage" you all would have elicited a worse response lol.
So where exactly was I mean, dickish, or a jerk? I know what I said and how I said it for a reason. I live by "say what you mean, mean what you say".

I think it was the tone of what you wrote. What you intended may not have been how it came off. Listing all of those reasons why no one will know anything yet makes it sound like you are calling him an idiot for even asking about it. Also calling someone out for even making the thread in the first place is always going to sound dickish no matter how right you might be.
You could have said:
"It will be interesting to see how this plays out, I am curious to hear what comes out over the next couple days since we probably won't know anything for a little while."
Like I said, if they have a problem with me, my Twitter information is posted above.

IMO, telling another poster that he need not create a thread on a topic of his intrest, because you didn't think it was necessary, is where the problem lies. Though I really don't think it is a problem. Anyone can post/create what they desire, as long as it adheres to 11W guidelines. We all have different emotions, patience levels and thoughts. We can all learn a thing or two from each other, if we can try hard to understand things being discussed. If you don't want to discuss a thread, don't.
We are all Bucknut crazy, things roll along, and we'll be partying like rockstars together soon enough to welcome Miami, OH to Columbus.
EDIT: 11W is stupendous. All posters combined make this site awesome. I don't agree with everything that is typed in. I'll state my case and then it's time to move on to something else in the CYBER BUCKNUT WORLD. Usually a disagreement is such a small thing. The smaller we can keep them, the bigger the good stuff on the site becomes.
So it's okay for me to post a new thread everytime a potential commit tweets about OSU, the Buckeyes, the Silver Bullets, or the coaching staff? That's what you're saying, correct? Just trying to see things clearly.
Perhaps we should have a "Recruit Name | Class Year | Official Thread" system similar to BuckeyePlanet, as to focus things. That seems to make sense...anyone else agree? We could shove all their tweets, interviews, and such things in there (at least until we get the new recruiting DB that we keep hearing about). Finding solutions within conflict!

It's the totality of it all, Recruit. In itself it's probably not super dick-ish, but taken in the context of the rest of your comments, it's enough for people pop off. You're kind of the annoying know-it-all of the 11W commentariat: you are always telling people what they should post, how they should post, correcting people's mistakes, bragging about who posted something first. That doesn't bother me all that much but by the sounds of most of the people on here (and how quickly they dogpile on a negative post against you), it's not the best way to make friends and might land you somewhere in the ballpark of being a jerk despite how vigorously you defend yourself against such an appellation. So take that for what's it worth; not trying to be a jerk in return. Just what you called yourself, blunt and to the point.
Seriously, look through my post history. I post what I read because I find it interesting and not everyone can find all information. Gene and Alex are the only ones I know who do the same. I don't want people to be misinformed. I don't brag about anything. If you don't believe me, dive into my history.
It's a long way until the season starts.
One thing I've found funny is that I intentionally troll the Craigslist forums and they love me, I try to do the opposite here and the result quite the opposite.
