Some reports, mainly from Scout, say Foster and the staff have "decided to part ways" after, for whatever reasons, the school and player are not a match. Rumor has it Foster wanted nothing to do with academics and the staff didn't like that. Now, Bucknuts has an update ($) that Foster enjoyed his time at OSU and will come back for an official visit.
I personally have been hearing more of the former, but I guess we shall see how this plays out. Interesting situation to say the least, but my guess as of today says Foster is not a Buckeye, where as I felt the exact opposite way last week.

All these old heads and their conflicting reports and rumors
Seems he (Foster) just doesn't like getting up early and felt that all visits are alot alike. He liked what he saw from what I can interpret. He seems to be an apathetic teenager. Who knows how the staff feels about him?
He seems to be like I was when I was 16-17.
Seems like Treadwell is enjoying himself.....
Wow.....well that's a good thing, but what about the reports that Urban decided to part ways with him? Just goes to show you can never trust what you read on the internet, unless it's coming from Alex of course!
Let's see how this plays out...as I said, info I am hearing says Urban/staff aren't huge fans after the weekend, but let's just see....not sure what is true right now
I think this is just an example of a young kid acting poorly and immaturely. Lots of 16-17 year old kids would, and do the exact same thing. I think Foster's behavior is something to take note of, and the staff seemingly has. That said I hope Foster has a chance rebuild his relationship and get his recruitment back on track. I think his apology tweet shows he is still very interested in tOSU. After it all plays out, assuming Foster does the right things, I think theres a good chance he may sign for us come signing day.
Thoughts?
That's exactly what I think Corveyer.
If his attitude is bad his skills won't make up for it.
I don't think his attitude is bad. He's a kid. If more comes out so be it, but he seems genuinely concerned about people saying stuff.
I think the simple fact that he didnt want to get up early is disconcerting. If is made about taking a visit, how easily will he comply to team rules? Would he give his all in every practice and game? Would he be able to make those midnight workouts? Just some questions about commitment I think.
Class of 2016. Go Bucks!
Did you want to get up at 6AM when you were in high school?
Not really, leaving at the same time for a 13 hour car trip from Georgia is pretty bad. However, I didn't openly mock the people giving me a tour and I didn't complain for the entire world to see on twitter. It doesn't help that he has a spotlight on him, but he needs to man up and have some humility.
Class of 2016. Go Bucks!
He wasn't mocking them. He was being a kid. There's a reason his tweets are protected, they aren't available for the whole world to see.
"He wasn't mocking them. He was being a kid."
LOL
News flash. Kids mock people. And I'm not saying I don't mock people myself, just saying that I have the presence of mind not to do it in their faces.
Class of 2016. Go Bucks!
I feel like some of you don't understand that when he's writing these tweets he's not thinking about a bunch of grown ass men reading and interpreting every sentence. He (and this applies to most other people his age) is thinking about all his high school friends and is probably just trying to make people laugh.
That's probably true, but he should have the presence of mind to realize that twitter isn't comprised of just his friends.
Class of 2016. Go Bucks!
Sounds like he still likes us but we don't like him? If thats the case, he'll have to put some work into repairing the relationsip with Meyer.
Interesting to say the least.
listen this has nothing to do with 6 AM....Urban Meyer wouldn't turn away a kid because he said he was tired from leaving at 6 AM....Urban Meyer has more serious things he is looking at in a kid's character....if Urbz feels the kid isn't OSU-character quality, I am on board with that decision....more to this than you, I , or anyone else will know
At Michigan fball clinic they did a great presentation on social media and they were educating the hs coaches on making sure that the student athletes they coach understand the significance of anything that is posted in social media outlets. The one thing i got from the whole thing is,"it takes one tweet to destroy your character."
When you are a national recruit like Foster you need to be aware more of anything you put out in the public. Twitter was the reason many athletes had their scholarships pulled last year, an example of that is Yuri Wright with Michigan.
There is a little bit of difference between Foster saying "tired from these old heads talkin at OSU" and Yuri Wrights graphically sexual and completely racist tweets. Both disrespectful but very very different ends of the spectrum. If Foster made anything near Wrights statements OSU would not consider him recruitable.
I was apparently A LOT more mature in high school than
most people then and im not too far removed from it. For the people saying "they're just kids" boggle my mind. They are 16-18 and fully capable of being polite/respectful/thankful. If I was offered to tour a campus, I would wake up at 3am with a smile. There's a difference between being immature with age and being rude/disrespectful. We learn manners as soon as were old enough to talk
"Love my State, hate the football"
I'd have to agree with Upnorth. I'm seriously tired of the "They're just a kid" cop-out.
It sometimes scares me that you guys think like that. He's 16 or 17. He's not a senior, he's not a college student. HE IS A KID. He's not in college, he's not a man.
It's not a cop-out if it's fact. We all made mistakes at that age. Heck, people I know still act immature. It doesn't make them a bad person, it makes them immature. I'm sure Meyer and Pantoni know what they're doing. It's not up to us to judge KIDS based on a few tweets and rumors.
Granted, I wasn't a D1 prospect. Never had the red carpet rolled out and twitter didn't exist. I wasn't disrespectful either. But come on...these kids have every so called guru and recruting insider tracking their every move. They've been in this process for a couple years, and they never get a moments peace. When you're treated like a rockstar, it can get to your head. He put his thoughts into the twittersphere, and now everyone is crushing him for it. Call it a character issue, cal it immaturity. it is what it is. But criticizing a 17 year old kid is ridiculous. I just don't get it. If urban saw something in him he didn't like, then that's between him and robert foster.
Jesus Recruitbuck, get off of it. We get your opinion. This is our opinion. This is an opinion-based forum. Everyone here makes opinions based on the information available to us. This is one of those times.
If these rumors are complete lies then we stand corrected. But where there's smoke, there's fire. How is this any different than when we heard the rumors about Jordan Diamond or the rumors that came out after the Davonte Neal in-house visit? Do we know EXACTLY what went down? No. But based on what we know, most of us are of the opinion that we don't want those kids on our team.
Recruitbuck posted his tweet in which he said he was sorry if anyone felt disrespected. He's a junior in high school. 99.999999% of high school juniors will say something you do not like. You may not want those kids on our team, but they are on every team. I'm not saying Urban and company shouldn't try to weed out the bad ones, but do you really think what he said is that bad?
And if he didn't care would he of tried to apologize?
We also heard Chris Field rumors. How did that turn out?
Just relax and enjoy the ride.
I like to believe that my best hits border on felonious assault.
JACK TATUM
LOL. This response makes me laugh when kids sign to other teams. All fan bases do it. "We didn't want him anyway."
October 20th: National Kenneth Guiton Day
if foster wanted to come to OHIO , he would to many like to play rockstar side of recruiting
"Give me Liberty, or Give me Death!"
Some people have pointed this out, but please take into consideration that these are 17 year old kids in most cases. I don't know about you, but when I was 16 or 17 I sure didn't want to wake up at 6:30. I still don't want to wake up at 6:30. With social media it is so easy for somebody to say something, tweet it, and instantly regret it. There's no taking something back once it's out there, and 17 year old kids simply don't appreciate the consequences. It isn't becuase their "immature" in the sense that some of you are using the word, it's just immature because we are dealing with 17 year old kids.
Being a dick is being a dick. Yes immature kids are more likely to be a dick but that doesn't excuse it. It will lessen your chances for things like getting a scholarship to play college sports at the best places.
When I was recruited for college (I was a three-star, just like my fav AJ Hawk), we had to walk uphill both ways to get to the visits and we sent our tweets Western Union.
Taquitos.
Instead of just restating the same things 400 times, let's just conclude and move on...
Point: He's only 17
Rebuttal: He should still act mature
Conclusion: Agree to disagree
Dead Horse: Beaten
AJ was a three star
