Ezekiel Elliott is a serious football talent. The tapes and stats do not lie. A few things Buckeye Nation might not know about your soon to be star football player:
- Great kid from a great family - dad played football and mom ran track at Mizzou
- True student athlete - on track to graduate from one of the most academically challenging high schools in the country
- Integrity and discipline - would be shocked if he does not honor his verbal commitment to Urban
- Young and still growing - put up huge numbers as a 16 year old Junior (doesn't turn 17 until this summer). Btw, bumped into him last weekend and he is visibily bigger and more cut than he was in the fall. And based on his track performance this spring appears he is getting even faster
- Well coached - high school coach is Gus Ferrotte (15 yr NFL QB) so he is getting access to serious coaching/training resources
Looking forward to watching Ziek lead the JBS Bombers next fall (hopefully to State for third year in a row), then as a Buckeye in 2013, and perhaps on Sunday's after that!

I think he has been under-rated by most of the scouting sites. I think he can be the Harvin type we are looking for
- Respect the Rivalry -
Ezekial is that you?
Just kidding
best of luck to the young fellow. Any idea if he'll pursue a track career at OSU?
Yes I've heard he's planning on running track as well as football
100% going to run track (for at least 1 season, per an interview he gave to local St.Louis tv media). I really think he's going to end up being a special player-- as Bomber Parent noted, he's still very young and his track times are pretty ridiculous. I know track speed does not = football speed, but still, looking forward to Ezekiel wearing the S&G.
If you ain't a Silver Bullet, you're a target
I hope he can be shifty. A lot of track guys struggle with the change of direction speed. Either way I love the kid.
This kid is more highly touted then Saine, But Saine came in with insane track speed as well and he didn't turn out to well. Just hope he is much better then Saine and I think he is. Also not saying saine was terrible just not what he was expected to do.
Saine was one hell of a player--It's not his fault he wasn't utilized well within the offense. Also, Saine's currently with the Green Bay Packers.
If you ain't a Silver Bullet, you're a target
Sigh... When does it stop?
October 20th: National Kenneth Guiton Day
Ehh there's a difference between saying he can be the Harvin-type or play the Harvin role, in my mind that's fine. What irks me is the ZOMG he can be the next Percy Harvin!!!! There's a difference to me at least, one is stating that a player could play a vital role in the offense and the other is proclaiming that the guy will be a world beater before he steps on campus.
Agree with William. Intent of my post was not to compare Ziek to Harvin or anyone else. Let's not jinx the kid by setting overly high expectations before he even steps foot in the Horseshoe. My point was that he is a great player but he is an even better person - smart, polite, articulate, respectful, focused - qualities that are so lacking in many of the 'thug' egotistical star players in today's college game. He has potential to be a real leader and role model for your program. For the record I have two kids at JBS and know him and have watched him play the last couple years so am perhaps a little biased. I am also a Northwestern alum/fan who will clearly be conflicted when the Wildcats take on the Buckeyes.
