UFM Keynote This Morning

Hey guys, I was able to listen to UFM speak this morning. He had some interesting comments on coaching and recruiting. He also pointed out Spence, Decker, Dodson, Marcus, and Perkins as guys he was especially excited about. He also made the Block "O" president do 10 pushups for saying Michigan. I'll post quotes and video when I get home. He also confirmed that he is set rosterwise barring any unforseen exits (I asked this question). No more unannounced changes a la Whiting.

I'll administer the same 10 push-up penalty with my kids. My four year old uttered that dreadful word about a week ago. Drop and give me 10 little man!

This makes me smile because Coach Meyer continues to make it clear that he totally understands the rivalry (in case anybody had any doubts).

Some rough quotes, I forgot my camera before I went back to campus from home, so I'll transfer over spring break when I head back.

Rough quotes

My question was "Is your roster set with the completion of the Jordan Whiting transfer?"
Him: "We're set, we're at 82, I don't think more will happen"

Other guy: "How about that recruiting class? One of the best in the country!"
Him: "I feel really good about that class (contradicts earlier comments about marginal guys)...Especially that young man out of Harrisburg, PA (Spence)...I'm really excited about Spence, glad we got our two OTs in Dodson and Decker, jacked about Marcus and Perkins who are some speedy guys." He also expressed concern about not having a speed guy/gamechanger and said that he's working on getting that early and often in every future class.

Outgoing Block O President: "Coach what's you're take on the OSU Michigan rivalry?"
Urbz: "Don't say that word" (awkward silence) "Now rephrase your question, and drop and give me 10 pushups"
Prez: "Can you really say no to Urban Meyer?"
*takes of suit jacket" room counts out 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc. He then explained how it's "the game" and it's not about "silly slogans" (here's looking at you, Brady Hoke) but rather decided by prepared men on the football field. "We will be prepared, we will make the great state of Ohio proud"

He also pointed out that he has "his guy" in the weightroom and felt good and confident about his staff (someone asked about all the former head coaches).
