Irish get two that were high on Urban's list. OSU has a great shot at Pocic, but if he goes elsewhere, is OSU going to be hurting for Oline talent (not forgetting Lisle is a stud)?
I saw this. I was a bit surprised ---- who knows what Beetface said to convince them to sign early. Must be that great Notre Dame "tradition" that's been sooooo dominant the past 19 seasons.
I'd like at least 3 OL in this class. I like our chances with Pocic but Im not sure who Urbz wants or can get as another one. Who knows maybe Bivin or McGovern will pull a Taylor Decker and flip to the good guys :)
I can't help but feel like Urban is dropping the ball a little when it comes to the OL. I know its early but most the of the big names are already off the board. He better make up for it by landing some of the BIG names at the other postions like Foster and Bosa.
Up North, he still has over 10 months to finalize this class. Considering how he salvaged the O Line recruiting in the 2012 class in 2 months, I'm sure we'll be just fine in the end.
If you notice, this was posted immediately following our BB win to go to the final four by a scUM fan. I think it was a way to try to take away from our moment. He made another remark about Urban a few minutes prior to posting this last night saying he better land Pocic or he'll have to move his d-linemen to the other side of the ball. Has problems handling our success, sound familiar?
I was under the impression that we needed more help at the position, but if Alex says that they will take 3-4 max and Lisle and Pocic are the biggest names in that small group, I would definitely be ok with that.
With Mike McGlinchy also committing to ND, I would be shocked if Pocic isn't a Buckeye lock now. That would give OSU two outstanding OT and will need to fine one more interior lineman to complete the OL class.
I only see an offer from Illinois for Peterson. Am I missing something? Yes, I know he played with Braxton in high school, but is he the caliber of player the staff is looking for?
What is OSU chances of getting tunsil? I think 3 is ok for this class, we had a good class last year and added a lot the year before but i am not sure on this past years freshman OL. It is early, but we will need to get some guys on the OL for sure next year.
Fortmeyer, you have complained about each and everyone of my posts. Get over yourself. When I start making posts that bash OSU, you will know it. Yes, OSU is Michigan's number one rival, but in case you didn't know, Michigan and ND is a pretty old rivalry, too, and we play them every year, as well (with the exception of a two year break coming up). So while I must admit I'm a little happy that Urban doesn't always get his way, ND isn't exactly a Michigan fan's ideal secondary landing place. Not to mention that ND is starting to put a heck of a class together themselves, mostly of players that Michigan had on their radar at some point.
And to your little theory that I'm trying to ruin your moment about OSU's berth into the final four (in the football forum), I haven't watched a game since Florida State got knocked out by UC. I posted it when I did because that's when I first heard about it...sometime between 10 and 11 last night. And for the record, I'm long over the OU loss and just praying that Trey Burke doesn't make a terrible decision to enter the draft.

Hail, as much as I disagree with your choice of team to cheer for, please ignore those saying you're trying to rain on the OSU parade. You were the first to post it on here I believe and I for one appreciate that. Unfortunaly urban can't win them all, but come feb Urban, Hoke, and now even Kelly will have quality classes.
P.S. I played against Burke in high school, kid is rediculous. Wouldn't be surprised if he went pro but I think he could use one more year
We will be fine... I read somewhere that said Urban knows a little something about recruiting and a little something about coaching those recruits.
ND & tsun have almost always recruited well so I think the bigger challange will be to see how well they coach their recruits. Things are looking a little better for tsun now that they know who OHIO is.... (: well they better know because they dont play at home this year
Alex, I think you do a great job on this site, I really do. But, I also feel like you feed to your audience. In no way is Pocic a guarantee to don the scarlet n grey. I just think that is too bold of a statement to make, unless he has told you this. (which he maybe did)
I would be pissed if some of the mods on our rival sites say something like that and it does not happen, or even on Mgoblog.
Call me crazy, but I think if Michigan has a few scholarships left over, they are going to go after Pocic again. I do not think someone as elite as him will be worried about the competition that he would have to encounter there as well. Also, Notre Dame is going to be a huge factor in his recruitment till the end.

I think OSU we'll get Pocic, though.

Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite

I foresee Lovell Peterson possibly getting an offer soon

@Fortmeyer yah it was Hail, I think he is still hurt from losing to Ohio. Its ok, whatever maks scUM fans feel better.

Sucks to see Urban & staff whiffing on recruits left and right. We may be left with 2 stars when it's all done.

@Rational - I think Alex has a decent track record of being right. Has he been wrong? Yes. But not that often!
