So is the total 24, with 9 self-imposed? How I feel. Noone cares, but I do believe their dirty laundry stinks worse. And as far as lying to the NCAA, they sign the same forms Tress did. Weak sauce.
I cannot believe how easy UNC just got off. Academic fraud! The D. Coordinator taking money! Their punishment is comparable to what OSU received but clearly the crime is much worse. Are there no guidelines the NCAA follows when dishing out their sanctions?
Shitty thing is South Carolina, or any other $EC institution for that matter, will get off with a slap on the wrist. Or no slap as is Auburn's case. Poor showing NCAA :(
@Norwich - Why do ppl keep bringing up Auburn? There was no proof that Auburn offered any money for Newton, only that his FATHER was looking for money from various schools(no fault on the schools here). Only Miss St was shown to have offered and that was from a booster.
Again..............PROOF. Players can tweet all they want but its what they tell the NCAA that matters. Same thing with Newton.....PROOF. I'm not saying I feel that Newton is clean or that others players at other schools haven't taken money(you're a fool to think otherwise) but continuing to bring it up isn't going to change anything, esp in relation to our penalties. Let's just be thankful it wasnt worse than what it was and move on.

What I have reluctantly accepted is the fact that Ohio State was made out to be University of criminals and villains by the media. It was a year long obsession and Ohio State could not go a week without the most irrelevant and meaningless actions being sensationalized by the media for ratings. It was disgusting to watch these so-called journalists claiming to be professionals creating stories based on hearsay and bias third party allegations from “unknown sources”. Many of these “allegations” came back false and instead of retractions we had more “allegations” shoved down our throats.
ESecPN showed they had no journalistic integrity as they regurgitated the same stories over and over and every time added some new evil twist about how corrupt and arrogant the Ohio State University was and how they think they’re above all NCAA rules.
ESecPN spearheaded a media onslaught that gave the perception that Ohio State was lacking Institutional Control, the masses of sheep bought it. Funny, I thought that was the NCAA’s job to declare LOIC not ESecPN?
We can sit back and throw out a 1/2 dozen current teams with serious NCAA issues and question why ESecPN is not putting in the same “go for the throat” reporting mentality and dedication as they did with Ohio State, the reasons are obvious.

The main issue I have with ESPN's treatment of the Ohio State scandal is the lawsuit. I've never heard of such a thing against another school. If I'm wrong, I apologize, but it just didn't seem right from the start.

Wonder if South Carolina will get anything similar...

I don't think the 15 is added to the 9 self-imposed.
Not us. Don't Care. Not gunna cry about other teams not getting punished harder just because we got screwed
Its 15 total, just like when they announced our penalties, what the NCAA issued superceded our self imposed reductions.

@Cincy - at least 5 former players at Auburn have come out saying they got paid. And read the NCAA rules...Newton was ineligible.
