I'm sure Alex will be contacting him shortly after he leaves campus. I hope his visit is going well, although it's too bad he'll be leaving the day before Spring practices start.
He is an important recruit but not because we didn't get Zaire, sure it would be nice to end up with Zaire since he is from Ohio, but there are other guys and Meyer will go after successfully, JT just appears to be the most talented of all we are going after.
This kid is better than Zaire anyways in my opinion. Never been impressed with Zaire's throwing motion. I think Barrett and Bailey are my two favorites at QB right now. McCrary or Swoopes would have been nice to get along with Barrett.
Looking at his offer/interest list, it seems like you guys have a good shot at him. Looks to me like your stiffest competition is Oklahoma, LSU, and Nebraska. Seems like a good get. He outshined Shane Morris in Dallas over the weekend...maybe a sign he's destined to be a Buckeye so they can battle it out on the big stage.
Alex (or anyone), does he have a top 3 or any favorites at this point?
Those who stay will be CHAMPIONS!

Earlier today I watched some highlights of Tra'von Chapman on youtube. And I must say I was pretty impressed. Thows the deep ball well, fits it into tight windows, and can move in and outside the pocket. I watched both his and Zaire and I must say I was impressed with both, but I was more impressed with Chapman because of his ability to fit throws into tight windowns, just seemed to me that Zaire was only hitting wide open guys. This is all just IMO, but I came away more impressed with Chapman. Of course this could be baised at the moment, but I definitely had more "wow" moments with Chapman.
Saw him on campus yesterday while he was touring the RPAC, he can't be any taller than 6'2", and he looked pretty lean. He'll definitely need to bulk up a bit to play QB in my mind.
Love the way this kid throws. Already has a pretty sound motion and can throw accurately with power as well. Reminds me of Troy Smith I think he is a must get and he will be prefect in the new offense. I think if Urban lands him it would be worth while to stop going after other QB'S and bank the scholarship for another position, especially with the number available probably being in the neighborhood of 16-18 instead of 20.
@William Troy Smith was only 6'1" and look what he did. God I would've loved to see Troy in this new offense, or Braxton in the offense Troy got to run for that matter.
Yeah marotti will have him playing at a good size for sure. Hope we can land this kid, he'll be perfect for the new offense. Looks like a stud to me. Hope the staff wowed him during his stay...
Triv, Troy smith is listed as 6"0 but from what I heard when he went to the NFL combine, he might not even be that tall like 5"11 1/2. so 6'2 is fine for me.
In the ESPN story Bassplayer linked to above where J.T. is talking to Trent Dilfer he looks smaller than he does in the later part of the video where he is throwing. Broad shoulders, big chest and backside, strong legs, and powerful arm. For his age he definitely passes the looks test. Compare him to Shane Morris and he looks like a body builder. Speaks well and humble too. Go get him Urban!

Favorite Buckeye: Obviously BJ Mullens
He leaves campus later today I will text him
@ BJ Mullens Hope you mean Meyer, not Matta.

Here's a story about JT's performance leading to his Elite 11 invitation.

@Hail- Last I heard in an article a few days ago, he said he was pretty wide open and it didn't sound like he had a list put together yet
"Love my State, hate the football"

I think if I had to guess his "favorites right now" they would be OSU, Baylor, LSU

Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
Good ESPN write up, impressive kid.
@Triv, just saying he looked a lot more like a wide receiver than a quarterback.
William, I have two words: Coach Marotti. ;-p
Yeah marotti will have him playing at a good size for sure. Hope we can land this kid, he'll be perfect for the new offense. Looks like a stud to me. Hope the staff wowed him during his stay...
Alex, any word on how the visit went?
^^^, not sure if he left campus yet, I think he did, but Alex said he was gonna text him and go from there to get the skinny
excellent excellent!! :D
I dont always root for college athletics, but when i do (which is most of the time) I choose THE Ohio State Buckeyes.

I meant look what he did in college, implying that 6'2" is plenty tall
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
Awesome news Alex, can't wait to hear about it!
