Per Mark Porter, the WVU commit has just got an offer from the Buckeyes. Thompson plays safety for Toledo Central Catholic and always liked OSU but committed to WVU early as they were on him first. I know Urban wanted him in camp, but I think they realized he is a very good talent. Bucks will definitely make a strong push here.

Nice. Would love to land Thompson. Although, if we land him, that probably means we miss out on Kendall Fuller, Su'a Cravens, and Vernon Hargreaves III I fear.
Would love to land Thompson, as well @Scarlet!
Really like his film S is definiteily a position of need in this class.
Here's a link to his JR highlights: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1S7rAbpYgwA
If Thompson jumps aboard, I don't think that precludes tOSU from going after 1 more at the S spot- Dymonte, Cravens, etc. and also, 1 more at the CB spot- Mackensie Alexander is the kid to watch out for there, IMO, over Fuller and Hargreaves III. Alexander is coming up for the Spring Game, and he told Bucknuts, "“I’ve got to get up there and talk to coach Meyer again,” Alexander said. “I’ve got to hear his voice again. I think I didn’t give them enough of a chance.” FWIW
If you ain't a Silver Bullet, you're a target
Do we really even have a chance at Fuller or Hargreaves anyway? Cravens it seems we have at least an outside shot but I've heard next to nothing about our chances with the other 2
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
I like the offer. I will believe Cravens and Alexander about their real interest in OSU after they visit, that is if they actually make it to campus.
I didn't see a lot of pass protection in here. He may be fine in that area. I am not impressed with his run support at all. He has good to great speed but he tackles high, very ugly to watch, and he takes bad angles. He hits like a cornerback, scratch that, Eli Woodard hits a lot harder and with better form. If he is teachable I guess we offered for his speed.

we are NOT getting Kendall Fuller...if I'm wrong awesome
Do you see Fuller ending up at Michigan or maybe a place like Bama?
Favorite Buckeye: Obviously BJ Mullens
Almost no chance he ends up at Michigan. He and teammate Dorian O'Daniel were set to visit together for the Spring game, but O'Daniel was told we are full at LB, which he didn't appreciate a whole lot. As of now, as far as I know, Fuller is still visiting, but many feel that he will cancel last minute. Even if he does visit, rejecting O'Daniel could not have helped our chances. Our only shot is that our current CB Blake Countess went to Good Counsel, also.
No clue about 'Bama. Everything early on pointed to VaTech for Fuller, where most still believe he is a lean.

I agree Hail, I never thought Fuller would end up blue, even if we did get O'daniel. I definitely think he is going to be a Hokie.
As opposed to a Hoke-y. (had to be said)
Good one, commandhead. We can start calling scUM recruits as Hokey-ys. lol.

The guy runs a 4.7; isn't that kinda slow?
If he comes up north you guys can call it whatever you want.

I would call it a miracle given that Hoke hasn't offered him. He must not be good enough. :)
R.I.P John Hoke. Thoughts and Prayers to Brady Hoke and family. His dad played for Coach Hayes at Miami of Ohio.

Thanks ytown. I live 5 min from Hoke's parents in Kettering. My buddy's dad played football with Jon (brady's brother) and Brady at Fairmont East. Said the Hoke family is top notch. It's always tough to lose family.

Looks like my old dude Jeremy and I have a similar source....just got a text saying Jayme Thompson is going to visit OSU this weekend....if he does I say it is all over...BUCKEYE
Sorry to hear about John Hoke's passing. I second Ytownnut's condolences.
Alex--is this such a good thing. I am really less than enthusiastic about him. Is there some other footage of him or something more about him you can tell me that will get me stoked for this kid. I guess it appears as if I am questioning the coaches judgment but this video alone has me wanting for more. He's fast and I hear you can't coach that unless you live in SEC country.

I don't want to sound like I am a know it all about football but I like to consider myself fairly savvy. I see speed and that is it. I was hoping you could tell me more about him. I saw bad angles and bad tackling. Was hoping to be told where I was wrong. He had a couple nice interceptions in there but some of the hilights looked like your run of the mill plays. I am wondering why he even included that play where he attempted to disrupt a pass (With another players help) and ended up getting put on his back. Anyhow, if he is a need and Meyer thinks highly of him then I hope we get him. Just critiquing him a little.

He committed! Welcome Jayme Thompson!

Go Bucks!
Rivals.com lists his 40 at 4.53 seconds. Urban is looking for competitors, kids who will run through a wall for him. Maybe that's what he saw in Thompson and a teachable kid without ego. OSU had a porous secondary in the final four games iast year, and how many of them were rated 4 stars in high school? And he's from my high school alma mater. So I'm biased. Sanzenbacher came from Toledo CC and look how he developed. Don't run Thompson into the ground just yet.
@Irricoir: he's reeeaaallllyyyy good at checkers.
