Thought I'd share an interesting tweet from Armani Reeves that I saw this morning:
Ppl from tht school up north calling my number being disrespectful n threaten me #nottcool
— Armani Reeves (@PTReeves8) March 11, 2012
Classy. That's all I have to say about that. To actually call a commit that's in high school...

Not unexpected from the inbred, bumper sticker bearing, knuckle dragging, mouth breathing crowd.
I saw that too and unfortunately it goes both ways. I have seen some pretty terrible tweets to from our fan base to them as well. I would like to think we are all above doing this but I get prooven wrong everyday.
Tweets are one thing. Phone calls are another. Tweets you can hit "block" and you're fine, phone calls are above and beyond. It does not go both ways. Threatening phone calls are on a whole different level than tweets.
There are idiots on both sides and its pretty sad to hear
"Love my State, hate the football"
If anyone wants to link me to any evidence that Ohio State fans have called and threatened TSUN commits, feel free.
They're called scUM for a reason
"I like to believe that my best hits border on felonious assault."

There's also some PSU fan trolling the guys that decommitted from PSU and flipped to Oh St.

For instance,
Wow...Armani they are scUM...wish we (OSU fan base) could do something abt this!
TSUN...no class (at least 99%)
More will de-commit when the Fed's lay the hammer!
@DMCDOUGAL24 lmao that dude is the definition of a keyboard warrior
Vrabel told Reeves to call him. This could be good.
Recruitbuck, not sure if your comment was directed towards me or not. Im not saying tOSU fans have done something similar, but you cant deny there are stupid tOSU fans out there too. Every team has "those" fans. Either way, this particular incident is pretty low.
I know that no one will agree with me here, but in my experience, Mich fans are much more accepting of tOSU fans than vice versa. I feel very comfortable wearing my tOSU stuff from head to toe at The Tin Can (big house) but hate driving down to the horseshoe because I have Michigan license plates. I've had my car vandalized on two seperate occasions when I came down for the game. It's easier for tOSU fans to travel to Mich then Mich fans to travel to tOSU, based on my experiences of going to the game every year. I'm sure most of you will feel differently, I'm just trying not to be bias here.
"Love my State, hate the football"
UpNorthBuckeye: There are idiots on both sides, no doubt. But that's all we agree on. Do youself a favor and go on MGoBlog, make an account, and post as a Buckeye fan. You will be subject to hateful venom from minute one. Your posts will be downvoted and you will clearly not be welcome.
Compare that to posters like Hail2theVictors and how he is treated here. He posts as a true fan from TTUN and he is accepted here even though we all disagree with him on most things. No one insults him.
You can always point to idiots on both sides, but if you look at blogs, which represent in my opinion the general pulse of a fanbase, you will see which fanbase has a higher proportion of idiots.
No excuse for any adult to be talking to these kids, committed or otherwise. I know we all take our sports very seriously, but isn't it a bit creepy that some people Twitter stalk these kids? Beyond a "welcome," "glad to have you," or "Go Blue/bucks," I think we should simply observe, at most.
If there are individuals calling him, that is classless and unacceptable. However, OSU isn't exactly innocent here (Kyle Kalis ring a bell?). Buckeye fans were tweeting him that they hoped he tore his acl (then Kalis responded with his own stupid comments).
I think that most Michigan fans are more respectful of Buckeye fans than vice versa, but I'm not going to argue the point. At the same time, I know there 25 good fans to every idiot fan out there...we just always hear about the idiots.

UM fans tweeted Brionte to tear his ACL/die. This is nothing new. My point is the phone calls. I never denied it goes both ways lol. This is just classless fans taking it to a new level.
Classic cases of misplaced anger.
@hail I think your statement "I think that most Michigan fans are more respectful of Buckeye fans than vice versa" shows a lot a bias when you try to come off as being objective. There are many idiots on both sides that want to blast young kids. There can never be an acceptable reason for this type of behavior. This "holier-than-thou" attitude is sickening.
BuckeyeJim, I think you've hit the nail on the head. Probably because they had nothing else to feel good about during the Tressel years, the fans from TTUN became unreasonably arrogant about being the team that does things the right way (nevermind NCAA violations they had during the RR tenure) and in turn their fans walk around like they are smarter, better, and more respectful. The ironic thing is that when they want to remind you that they are the more respectful fans they usually are very disrespectful. At best, they're just as bad as anyone else.
Idiots are universal, and are not limited to singular fan bases. Let's all be happy that we're not beating the Hell out of each other. A la giants/dodgers.
I said I'm not going to argue it here, but upnorthbuckeye sa id the same thing I did.
I go to 3-4 games a year at the Big House in my silver car with Ohio tags and have never once gotten so much as a scratch. I have numerous Buckeye friends that made the trip to AA this year and in 09 and their cars weren't messed with. There is no way to quantify which fan base is better, but I hear of a lot more incidents in columbus than in AA. And FWIW, I'm not on a high horse because I'm a michigan fan, but we do have a lot to be proud of, aside from sports, as does Osu.

Ive gone to the Shoe with rental cars that have mich plates and never got vandalized, Ive gone to mich with OHIO plates and never got vandalized. Ive lived near the border all my life and found that there are idiot fans on both sides, there are decent fans on both sides and then there are fans like me on both sides ;)
I have to agree that calling a kid on his phone to make cowardly remarks is way off base
O H I O is the Buckeye State
Why does it have to be about a Michigan or an Ohio State fan? There's all kinds of disrespect in the world! I despise Michigan as a school but as individuals, I respect them if they respect me but the same should be said for anyone who shows me respect!
You only hear about the bad experiences and a few from each side exist. The difference would be how exaggerated they are. So, if you take that into consideration and look at MGoblog once in a while you can see how scUM exaggeration works. Right now you can go there without reading the individual comments and read about how every recruit is the best at their position ever. The latest CB is said to be THE BEST IN OHIO just for one example. Better than five-star Cam Burrows even. So the whole fan car damage exaggeration could go along way in the hands of those looking to fuel the fire.
Upnorthbuckeye
I'm not sure when the last time you were at the Big House but I can tell you one thing, I've been there twice and I have NEVER been treated so poorly or seen some of the vial things that I saw at THOSE games. There were scUM fans literally inscensed at TP and screaming at the top of their lungs at him with words that I cannot repeat in this forum. (These uys are STILL kids for the love of GOD) I had a guy behind me that purposely "dug" his knee into my back every time he got up or sat down, blaming it on the tight seating. He yelled GO BLUE at the top of his lungs right up behind the back of my ears on several occasions. I had a 80 year old couple scream at me as I was leaving to have fun gettin our A$$ES kicked in Pasadena (The year we went on to the Rose Bowl and beat Oregon). I had a guy literally crying (Drunk as well, to be fair) tell me to go F*** myself after a TOSU touchdown and he was literally inches away from my face? What did I do to deserve any of this? Nothing but bought a ticket and wore my scarlet and gray. I never said a damn thing to incite them or be disrespectful to them in their house. I mean, I wanted to stay for the entire game ya know. The last thing I needed or wanted was to get into an altercation and be barred from the stadium!! They said things to my woman that should never be uttered from any respectful individual. Prior to that day, I ALWAYS rooted for scUM in bowl games. I listened to Tressel's speech every year about how the players respect each other and how it was probably the cleanest game played all year long and was proud to be a fan associated with that game... Well, that may be true for the players but the fans are an entirely different story! From that day forward, I refuse to EVER root for TTUP in ANYTHING. They are the lowest of the low and deserve to have their A$$ES spanked in everything from basket weaving to the grid-iron. I welcome it, and I CHERISH that SHIT now...They don't DESERVE my respect and they will NEVER have it for as long as I live....That I can promise you!
"You're pissed because we went after a committed guy? Guess what, we got nine guys who better go do it again. Do it a little harder next time." -- Urban Frank Meyer -- I LOVE THIS DUDE!! :)
@KATZFAN - I hear you man, but this is something that goes both ways. I was having a beer at Gooseneck Tavern here in Columbus after the football loss to MSU, and met a nice couple who I learned were OSU grads. We struck up a conversation, and they told me that they have almost comlpetely disowned Ohio State because of their treatment at a game. They were wearing OU shirts to support their daughter's alma mater, and--among other things--were spit on, cursed at, and treated incredibly inhospitably. These people were probably in their 50s, and to hear that gentleman tell me that he almost got in a fight because of the things being said to his wife both embarassed and upset me. As a member of the student body at that time I felt compelled to appologize on behalf of the whole (or at least as 1/60000th). But it still made me sad, you maybe have 5% of fans that are complete douchebags, that give the other 95% of us a bad name. Personally, I try to be friendly and cordial to opposing fans, but the reality is that one bad deed overshadows 100 good ones.
There's no backing away from the reality: sports rivalries and fandom can have a dark side, and it's not constrained to certain fanbases. As I said earlier, I'm just happy that we're not destroying campus landmarks ('Bama fan at Toomer's Corner, Auburn), committing sex offenses in public ('Bama fan at Bourbon Street Krystal teabagging an unconscious LSU fan), and beating people to within an inch of their life (Dodgers fans savagely beating Giants fan Bryan Stow). So far, at least, I haven't seen or heard anything even close to this magnitude happening amongst Michigan and Ohio State fans, something for which I am incredibly thankful.
It has and will always go both ways. I've seen some pretty ugly stuff over the years from UM and OSU fans so not sure why either side of this rivalry would ever want to incriminate the other. Unfortunatly there will always be idiots who choose to put stupidity before sportsmanship.
@Fortmeyer You will see thing on both boards. On the article about Conley it never says that he is better than Cam. Now maybe some fans wrote that, but I did not read the comments.
It's kind of like when Michigan got McCray a lot of OSU fans were just saying its not big deal, we have to take the best. If we we had more scholarships we could of probably had a spot for him. As you say cam is a 5* (rival, newest rankings on scout have him as 88th overall), McCray was ranked top LB in Ohio and 44th overall player in the nation. It's going to be different of opinions. Some fans will down play and make their player out to be the best player in the nation. It happens on both sides.
@kayzfan Sorry you had a bad experience at the Big House. I was at the last Osu/Michigan game and there was 4 osu fans with me and nobody said anything to them. I actually live in Columbus and I can say, that my personal opinion that it's a little worst here. Obviously it can happen at Michigan as well, I just feel like if I go to the Osu/Michigan game in Columbus there is higher chance of something happening than not. It's always not so much even at the game, but the tailgating, walking steers, bars, etc. But that is just my opinion.
I think we can all agree that both sides (and all fans) are guilty of some wrong doing. Some cases are on different scales...as the rivalry intensifies, you definitely hear of worse cases.
I think we can just subjectify that it is certain people that ruin it for others, not just "fans" of one team or another. I was at a game where people almost got in a fight because one person (who happened to be tall) wanted to stand up and root for his team while the group behind him wanted to sit on their hands (lame a$$ fans)...they were rooting for the same team. Similarly, when the crowds get tight, people need their space. I've seen people pushing one another because they were crowding over onto their "seat/area." Same thing at concerts where people lose concept of others' personal space. While it is often incited by opposing fans, that's not always the case.
Those who stay will be CHAMPIONS!

This post was not about there being fans on both sides that are morons. This is about scUM fans taking it to the next level and calling a high school kid.
I never disputed that it doesn't go both ways, but if someone wants to send me a link of scUM fans CALLING OSU commits, go right ahead. Yes, OSU fans told Kalis to tear his ACL, and scUM fans did the same with Dunn. This is not about that. This is about the next step above that.
Okay, recruitbuck what do you intend to do? I get what you're posting but you're writing the same thing over that's already been said. Nobody is arguing you with you that's it wrong. It won't change the fact that it happened now matter how many times you write scUM and rewrite the same thing over and over. It shouldn't of happen by either sides, the end.
