Anyone else really tired of UC fans complaining that OSU avoids play them in the regular season? It would be nice to play them but I'm not losing sleep over the matter. We beat them tonight and all I get from my UC fans is that we won't play them in regular season and that we are a bunch of pussies? Seems to be a one sided concern.

why waste our time with a team that lost at home to presbyterian?
Not a waste of time, but a wonderful rivarly. I would like to see an OSU-xavier game too.
I love the bucks, but support all the Ohio teams. Play a tournament. Incule OU, UM, UD, CSU and the Mac teams.
Raise money for some good cause and rotate it between the big 3 cities.

^^ that sounds like a good/fun idea
I'm in Dayton, myself. I would love to see them do something like the Big 5 in Philadelphia, but bigger.
The Tournament of 12?
Ohio State, Cincinnati, Xavier, Dayton, Miami, Ohio, Akron, Toledo, Bowling Green, Kent State, Wright State, Cleveland State

I would love to see them play every year, but bad blood between the to schools will not allow it. With the way that Cronin started his collegiate coaching career, I don't really see it happening to soon.
go bucks
I think just to piss UC fans off we should start a series with Xavier
I like Lincoln's idea.
I like to believe that my best hits border on felonious assault.

I think all 12 of the Ohio teams could beat michigan on a regular basis.
Heck, most of the michigan team is transferring out, possibly to MAC schools.

There is no reason to back down from a challenge. Ever. Even going back to playground days, if someone says they can beat you and you don't accept, you're a chicken.
Uh yes there is. $$$$. There's no money in Ohio State being involved in such a thing. Tournaments like this just prop up the worth of the also ran schools who maybe just maybe one year win it and hurt Ohio State's credibility in the process. There's a reason Duke and UNC don't do crap like this with the Ashevilles and Greensboros of the world. They play Michigan State, Arizona, and Texas. Places that extend their reach out of state, especially in a state saturated with programs like Ohio.
While that 12 team tournament sounds great, that's a situation where OSU would have nothing to gain and everything to lose.
Right on William. UC fans have nothing else to look forward to so they love to try to piss off big brother because UC has something to cheer for every 5-10 years while OSU fans have a consistent winner every year. If they want to play us in Football then get better and we can meet in a BCS Bowl every few years?
UNC Ashville and UNC Greensboro don't have a higher winning percentage than UNC or Duke like UC does over Ohio State. The "everything to lose and nothing to gain" argument is just another way of saying they're chicken. You have something to lose every time you take the court - it's called the game itself. Sack up.
im still trying to figure out why this is under football...
The tournament would be for the fans. I realize $$$$ runs programs though, but can you imagine the bragging if Toledo or Cleveland state won.
It would be a great way to start off the season. The money would be great PRplus the schools would make some extra cash by more TV.
As far as football goes, I tremember the national Championship year and UC almost won on the last play. It would have ruined that year, but it didn't. I say that tOSU should not back down from anyone and I like them playing state schools in preseason instead of out of stae ones.. Afterall, I hear Appy state is available since some school up North won't play them anymore. it would be nice to beat them, but keep the $$$$ in-state.

Personally, I want us (and the rest of B1G) to schedule MAC schools in both football and basketball. If we're going to prop up schools, let's do it for Akron, Kent, Ohio, Miami, Bowling Green, and Toledo. Schools that deserve propping.
Tired of the smack talk with UC. If they want to play us so bad, join the MAC.

Anderson Silva does not fight every chirping idiot on youtube who claims he can beat him. He fights the best. He's not chicken for not fighting everyone who calls him out. Some competitions just aren't worth the time.
@buckeyebru
Maybe you should check out Michigan's 2014 schedule. And I know it was a joke and all, but playing Alabama should eliminate any concerns of us being afraid of playing anyone

We should play UC in both football and basketball everybyear. We kick their butt in football for a couple of years in a row and it would probably help in recruiting Greater Cincinnati. As far as basketball, what do we lose by playing them? We are trying to win NC's in b ball and they play hard- should help come tournament time.
The biggest road block in playing UC more frequently most probably has to do with football. The two schools can not agree on the same format that tOSU has with all other in State schools. Specifically, tOSU does not have to travel to other smaller stadiums to play them. It all boils down to money. tOSU operates a huge system that requires home games in Ohio Stadium to fund the athletic department. They also want to play games with other national programs that would require home & home scheduling. UC is adamant that they want home and home scheduling as well. So, instead of being grouped with the other in State schools they place themselves in the national pool. It is simple math, tOSU does not want to sacrifice a game with another school (like CA or CO now on our schedule) to play UC. And, with the B1G agreement to begin cross conference games with the PAC12 don't look for that attitude to change any time soon. Sure, I would like to see them play more often, but tOSU is not going to stray from their financial model in order to accommodate UC. They did play Toledo in Cleveland, but that is a rarity, and with the new PAC12 agreement, don't look for that to be repeated.
UC continues to bad mouth tOSU administration for their stance on this. As long as there is that bad blood, there will be no jockeying to add UC as a regular basketball opponent. And, to some extent, the home and home requirement also nixes things in basketball as well. Most major conference schools fill their OC schedules with many teams they only play at home. tOSU can schedule any other in State school and not have the requirement to play at the other school's location. Yes, there are exceptions, but those are far and few in between. Any format that could be offered in a UC / OSU seiries would have to be home and home. I just don't see tOSU agreeing to that format when there are other venues that are much more financially appealing. The Buckeyes went on the road to Kansas and South Carolina - both venues seat between 17,000 and 18,000. UC's facility seats 13,000. Their football stadium seats 35,000. Unfortunately, it really is simple math despite how much any of us would like to see them play more often. (and for those saying UC could host a football game in Paul Brown Stadium, the capacity there is 65,000 - far short of the 105,000 in the shoe).
