Friday is the big day! Stefon should announce his decision at 6pm Friday night. Since this has been the toughest kid to read, it would be fun to get everyone's prediction on one forum as to where the 5 star athlete will decide. No need for analysis or sources, just give your best guess or gut feeling where he is going.

BUCKEYE!!!
Honestly think Florida, obviously hope he comes to OSU though.
Favorite Buckeye: Obviously BJ Mullens
Not Ohio State, so Maryland or Florida.
The Ohio State University!
or at least really hoping so.
I'm confident that he'll be a Buckeye.
I trust Urban and Alex and some guys on twitter that could be having a really good time screwing with everyone. Buckeye!
I'm going with Maryland unfortunately. I'd love to be wrong though...
"Love my State, hate the football"
I'm gonna go with the guy at the Washington Post sadly, and say we lose out to hometown Maryland. But hey, at least it's not Florida!
I don't feel as good as I did last week... Maryland
Farrell on twitter is very definitive toward Maryland. Appears likely to me.
I think Diggs stays on local cable if choosing Maryland. With them out in my mind, I'll go Buckeyes. Too many questions about his role at UF
A lot of stuff to overcome with hometown Maryland (close to home, teammates on roster) but I think the kid wants to win and be a featured guy which is what I am guessing Urban and him talked about. The allure of Buckeye Nation and Coach Meyer are too much here....Buckeyes!
THE University of Ohio State
someone gives me 100-1 odds I'll take Cal
Bucks baby! And if he doesn't.....we will be ok!
Tough times never last, tough people do

The latest feel and info being sent out about Maryland is too much to overcome. I think the beans have been spilled.
On to '13.

Shendig
Alex,
hate to bug you. But you still feeling good about tOSU even with the Maryland rumors?
After reading Bleacher Report, I am changing from Maryland to Florida but I am not giving up my right to flip again:)
Florida.
What does Brooks think? He always has sources close to the situation.
Hope he is all Buckeye, if not bank it for 2013!
Lol...dick
wow, alex changing his prediction! any particular reason? OSU staff not feeling as confident now?
He's going to go to Maryland so he can bullshit with his friends from high school - obviously means he doesnt have the head for a place like OSU
- Respect the Rivalry -
haha...got me too
Alex is trolling about as hard as stefon has been the past few days. Lol
Class of 2016. Go Bucks!
The University of Ohio State :)
If you ain't a Silver Bullet, you're a target
Haha no one ask Alex again about Diggs, he probably wants to kill someone!

Haha don't do it man (Alex). I thought of posting your first thought on TOS but then stopped. Good thing I didn't otherwise would have felt foolish.
Dammit Alex. lol
I'll go with Maryland
yea if thats true about WHERE he is announcing then that pretty much seals it as UM. You don't announce for another school at the campus of one of the finalists.
At 6:12pm 2/10/2012 Diggs will announce his commitment to the school that he has been discussing with his family and friends... The Ohio State University
If im wrong i will go plant some more Buckeye trees in that state just north of me
O H I O is the Buckeye State
I actually just saw a tweet from Phil Steele that he was going to be announcing from the Out-R-Inn. Take it FWIW, I guess.
He's going to announce to Maryland... and then Urban is going to flip him. Take it to the bank.
If you ain't a Silver Bullet, you're a target
If you think it will be Maryland based solely on the location of the announcement, then you haven't been following this recruitment closely at all.
I can't understand Diggs going to Maryland. I realize it is close to home for him, but that is like a kid choosing to play for Bowling Green when they have an offer to play at OSU. Maryland isn't even good enough to win in the ACC!
Yes there are two Buckeyes in Ann arbor on this site!
True but everyone around him was influencing him to go to Maryland - his high school coach went to Maryland, 3 of his high school team mates are playing for Marlyand and I'm sure everyone he knows wants him to go to Maryland. Obviosly going to OSU would be a risk for him but would reap great rewards. He would rather be a big fish in a small pond than play on the big stage.
- Respect the Rivalry -
Maryland isn't even good enough to compete in the ACC, especially with an improved FSU and Miami (FL)
you seriously think heim picking a place in maryland is the end all? This kid loves the attention, this is just another pawn people. Have you forgotten the ride he has put everyone on the past several weeks? He is a buckeye
If tOSU suddenly became a horrible program that had a hard time winning games, I think most of us still would have a hard time turning them down if they were offering any of us a scholarship. Diggs has ties there and grew up in that atmoshpere. So Maryland is special to him in that respect, like tOSU will always be special to us, regardless.
"Love my State, hate the football"
Can't blame a kid for staying home. He felt most comfortable there. Just like kids growing up in Ohio will be Buckeyes; most kids stay home. We fought hard but not for long enough.
We have UFM as our coach. We'll get our Ginn/Harvin playmaker. Marshall is a start. One down; many more to go. You win some, you lose some.
Either way, we have a FANTASTIC class this year and looking forward to spring ball!!
Agreed - Diggs wasn't meant to be. He never f*cked us over or did anything to spite or insult OSU - best of luck to him!
- Respect the Rivalry -
I'm going to be optimistic and pick OSU. Won't be surprised if he chooses Maryland, it would just be baffling to me.
Class of 2010.
You guys are stupid choosing from the schools that everyone expects him to choose from. He's clearly going to choose Akron, the worst team in college football :)
Hey we have a GREAT 2012 class. If we miss on Diggs it will be fine. I don't think anyone has a good read on what he will do. We will just have to wait until he announces tomorrow.
Yes there are two Buckeyes in Ann arbor on this site!
Auburn.
Wow guys. Why are people so willing to give up? His announcement is still 18.5 hours away, and nobody really knows where he is going. Up to this point, have any of the numerous rumors about diggs been proven true? He's even backed out of the televised conference, so I'm not believing anything until 6:00 PM Friday.
Class of 2016. Go Bucks!
If he did announce from a restaurant in College Park, literally on the campus of the U. of Maryland, and when he made the announcement put on an OSU hat and actually chose The Ohio State...that would be the ballsiest move in awhile. I'd gain a lot of respect. Yea, kind of a dick move to the Maryland people, but man would that be nutso.
p.s. Temple beat Maryland last season in College Park, by about 5 touchdowns.
"You win with people." - Woody Hayes
Maryland football = Penn State basketball.
Irrelevant and never going to win their conference.
"You win with people." - Woody Hayes
Nobody is giving up on Diggs. Just stating some facts.
Yes there are two Buckeyes in Ann arbor on this site!
He just tweeted he is going to Maryland for their uniforms
Tough times never last, tough people do
This might make a difference? I just read that Diggs is actually announcing at his high school football banquet which happens to be in college park. He didn't choose an arbitrary place in CP to make the announcement.
- Respect the Rivalry -
^My thoughts, I just couldn't find whether or not that's where the banquet was.
We should write him a letter from the eleven warriors blog and tell him why he should pick OSU
- Respect the Rivalry -
My prediction is Maryland but I hope I'm wrong, if so, Meyer will bank the scholarship for next year, so either way, I think it's a win win here, as we need schollys for the next few years.
I predict that Stefon Diggs will sign his letter of intent to an FBS football program tomorrow.
October 20th: National Kenneth Guiton Day
I predict there will be 50 more threads started tomorrow about Stefon Diggs
Win-win. As others have stated, you get Diggs - win. You don't, you have an extra scholly for next year - win. Either way, we're good. Diggs (who would've been a great addition), will not make or break this program. We have our guy for '13. I'm sure there is someone capable on the current roster that can hold down the fort for this year.
Can't wait for it to all be over ^
October 20th: National Kenneth Guiton Day
THE Ohio State University!
Gonna be hard to not commit to Maryland when you're in College Park.
Diggs just tweeted he had a dream he was in the swamp, which means Florida is out of the picture and everybody on this thread who picked UF is wrong
REALLY liking the Buckeyes now...
If you ain't a Silver Bullet, you're a target
I'm going to choose the only school that makes sense based on the way Diggs has approached his recruitment.
Wright State University
It kills me, but going with Maryland. The college park thing just kicked me in the groin
"They hate us because they ain't us" - Sully
Whoever he chooses will need to adjust his attitude quickly.
Florida or Maryland
which is cool. There is a player, currently on the roster, that is going to have a breakout season, in Meyer's system....... Reed, Smith, Spencer, Hall
Think he's a Gator. Think he's always been a Gator but is just loving the love and attention.
Blue Mountain State.
Maryland.
If it's true that Digg's H.S. coach has pushed hm toward his alma mater (Maryland), that's kind of like if a kid scored a 2400 on the S.A.T. and his favorite teacher in H.S., who attended Mississippi State, advised the kid, "I only want what's best for you, son . . . so, you need to take your supreme intellect to Starkville!"
I say he chooses Maryland. Wish it would be Ohio State and think it is by far the best place for his talents. If we get him...great. If he goes elsewhere...great. We have a great class and need to have class.
I wish him nothing but the best whichever school he chooses.
I say he trolls everybody and goes to Penn St.
I've been tired of Diggs for over a week now. I honestly don't care.
"It's just another case of there you are". ~ Doc (1918-2012)
What was Marylands record last year, 2-10? What a shame for the kid to go there and possibly struggle to achieve his best. With the backup QB leaving and an OT leaving. It is what it is and if he goes there one can only hope it works out for him. They say the guy recruiting him there is very shady. Wish him the best if he goes there and he will achieve it all if he comes to OSU.
The buzz is this one is not trending OSU.....I personally am not expecting him to be a Buckeye...if he is, I will be that much more estatic....my gut for some weird reason keeps saying Terrapin WOOF....once again I am as clueless as you guys are on this other than a few pointers thrown my way
+ a million RBuck!!

Final GUESS: Maryland
Hope I am very very wrong
I think he is going to challenge the NFL rule and go straight to the draft...
who cares on to 2013
Hardly home but always reppin
I have a great feeling he will be following guys like Terrence Bailey, Denzel Pillars, Dionte Saffo and Rick Wilcox, and add to the rich football history of Marian University...Go Knights!
He should follow Meg to Stanford
It says a lot if you are willing to give up, realistically, any chance at collegiate success because you can't be a few hours from home. For every Calvin Johnson, you get a Selwyn Lymon, DeAndre Brown, and Pat Patterson - very talented, highly rated recruits who had offers to elite schools but stayed home and went to poor football schools with bad coaching, and they all flopped. If his mom is the one in his ear on this one, I really feel bad for the kid.
I'm feeling BUCKEYES!! I think that if he wasn't...you would hear more from Urbz, tOSU...or some other anonymous source close to tOSU. If he goes elsewhere...I think we will be fine!! GO BUCKEYES!!

Sox33OSU....good thing is, while UMD is close to mom, mom also LOVES Urban Meyer :)
I think it's OSU or Maryland but as I said, a complete guess
lex you are not making it easy for us novices :)
Alex, do you see any Meg-like prospects next year? Or is she one of those once in a generation type prospects?
Sure hope you're right on that Alex. If she truly wants him to succeed you'd think she would be pushing him to get out of the state.
Meg is definitely a once in a generation types...although Shelton Gibson announces at Cleveland Heights next year so we'll have to tune in to see if anyone can top Meg
even if stefon diggs commits elsewhere, I will be upset, but wish the best. I will then watch the dodson video, and get pumped up again, and realize tOSU is on the way up for sure.
Alex - When are you going to interview Meg?
Teamdiggssssdsss @Marseanbaybee
Just had a dream I was in the swamp time to go back to sleep.
Teamdiggssssdsss @Marseanbaybee
Contrary to what you hear I have not made a decision . A lot of people going be mad at me . But oh we'll gotta make the best decision for me
Teamdiggssssdsss @Marseanbaybee
Even my own city might be mad at me .
I put the odds between Florida and Maryland, as Rivals Mike and others have been saying for days. Those tweets might just be to lead people astray (and keep the Maryland commit a surprise even though others have already spoiled it). But they lead me to believe that it's either Florida or Maryland as many have been saying all along.
"Even my own city might be mad at me ."
This would lead me to believe that the decision is NOT Maryland...
Or he could just be playing us. Let's just wait and see.
Teamdiggssssdsss @Marseanbaybee
Shock the world ! See you later twitter..
haha...this guy knows how to play the game for sure.
"shock the world"
Espn 'Insider' put up an article:
Report: Diggs to commit to MD
Inside said: he was EXPECTED to commit to MD. But he could still sign to any other top school he has. A decision was not made, but an announcement is expected today.
here was my response. I hate ESPN:
dubjayfootball90
ESPN, are you kidding me? Your 'insider' knowledge is nothing short of pathetic. This 'report' is misleading, for one, and does not provide any support or new info to what EVERYONE already knows.
Title: Diggs to sign with MD
First Sentence: Stefon Diggs is expected to sign with Maryland
Completely different ways here, where the title suggests a definitive commit, but the 'expectation' surrounds the first sentence. This is extremely poor reporting and just make you lose so much credibility. To go in two separate directions to start off an article is absurd, and just goes to show that your skills as a sports network are remedial, at best.
"He can still sign with the other tops schools, but a decision is expected today."
Are you kidding me? You just contradicted your definitive title. Your style of reporting is absurd and it is offensive to those who actually do 'real' work. Absolutely poor on your part. Terrible work on bring information and completely contradicting your title. You guys seriously suck.
FWIW, my gut feeling is I don't want him coming here. Meyer said he never recruited anyone beyond the NLOI signing date, and he shouldn't start now. There's an obvious character flaw, as we know from recent experience, that comes with a player that wants all the attention focused on him. History says that fools can't see the difference between solid gold, and fool's gold. Isn't it too soon for history to repeat itself?
Go Bucks!
Does Diggs have a serious girl staying close to home?? If there's a girl involved, he's staying in Maryland, IMO.
Juventas, that doesn't always mean anything either. For example, word was Jamal Marcus's girlfriend was going to ECU, but he ended up picking tOSU.
Wisconsin. Bielema pulls off a coup. Meyer complains about losing recruits, Gordon Gee tells everyone to get a life.
4-6 seconds from point A to point B and when you get to point B, be pissed off
BASS, obviously it could go either way. But in my recruiting experiences, the guys tend to follow the girls.......tick tock lol
Gator country, land of sunshine and bikinis
Hell, I'll take Ohio State...he's been an enigma this whole time. And if Alex tells us that the staff likes where they sit, than I can't ask for anything else.
Al la his Twitter,
Shock the World baby!
Staff put forth best effort...all you can ask...I'm convinced with a full year, even 6 months, Diggs would definitely be a Buckeye......with about 2 months Meyer has us in the final 4...can't ask for much more
Just to reiterate- he is now announcing tonight from the bar where the Maryland coaches tape their weekly radio show.
It'll be Maryland guys. Nobody is enough of a d*** to move their announcement to that location and then pick someone else.
Not necessarily true -- LSU's most recent QB commit, a Mississippi native, announced in an Oxford Ole Miss bar that he was going to LSU. Of course, he's 6'3, 270 pounds, so I don't think too many people would have messed with him.
Exactly

you guys over hyped diggs way to much..now if he does not commit to the OSU all you guys are going to go cry in a corner. and if he does commit..woopty doo we got a reciever who can run a 4.4
6'3" 270 QB? How fat is this kid?

Wow, Debbie Downer over here
Although Diggs knew Meyer, Marotti and Co. previously, committing to a place for 3+ years and having only been there for a day seems illogical IMO

Sure, it's over-hyping, but who cares? People are allowed to be excited, recruiting season is fun, and since this is the last possible guy--and a real difference-maker--the effect is compounded. Sure, it's a little silly, but this kind of stuff never happened under Tress (save for Mr. Pryor), we're just basking in the glow of awesome.
Not to mention, it's pretty cathartic to be able to speculate on the Nation's best players vying for a chance to play for my team two months after being handed a bowl ban.
We're about to ascend to unheard-of heights, the sky's the limit kids!
*puts gallon of Kool-Aid down, scurries away*
with the DL we brought in, we don't even need a offense! lol
^ Bollman, is that you?
I can't help but wonder at what point recruits will begin to realize that the Florida of today is not the Florida that dominated under Meyer they enjoyed watching growing up.
There is a reason why Florida was what it was during the Spurrier and Meyer years, and a reason it was what it was under Zooker. Already the comparisons of Florida's current coach are favoring more Zook than Meyer. Something you would never have heard said about a Meyer coached team in Florida:
See the difference from Urban Meyer's Florida Gators? Mind you, intensity is different from hissy fits. As great as it is to go to a program with a strong history or tradition, what matters is the CEO of that football program, nothing more, nothing less. Still don't think so? Think about Alabama during the Shula years. Off the field issues aside, there's a reason why they didn't win as many games with Shula as they have with Saban at the helm <cough oversigning cough>. It can not be understated how important the coaching staff is to a program. I for one was dead certain Marcus was going to ECU after mulling over the home state situation, his gf going to the school, etc. In what feels like a similar situation, I can really see Diggs picking OSU. And doing well here, given Meyer's focus on the core of the team being strong enough that it allows you to bring in this peripheral personalities, much like the Patriots have done with players like Moss, yet continued to be successful (from his great talk at the OHSFCA clinic). Meyer is the difference between him falling in line after arriving to campus and turning into TP2.0, and what would help make him so valuable here. And yes, there's this, but you can't really argue too much the Pat's results over the years. Or for that matter, Meyer's.
Muschamp' results so far, on the other hand?
If he has 1st round NFL aspirations why would he select Maryland? A very problematic offense will be in his future if he does which will keep his stats down as well as all the national pub. I do not know the status of his family's financial situation, but he would serve his family well in the long run by selecting a high profile school with an offense that would enhance his NFL stock. As he said in one of his tweets it is about the next 40 years of his life. Sure being close to home has its benefits but it really depends on what school you live close to if you have NFL 1st round dreams. Secure you and your families future Stefon and become part of Buckeye Nation!
Make Will-Way your Way!
NCBucknut - That's exactly what I've been saying. If the kid is looking at the long term, there are numerous reasons why Maryland is a terrible choice. Not only are they in shambles with all of the transfers, but how stable is Randy Edsel? If he has another year like this past season, it's hard to imagine he'll be there for another one. Also, if he's going pro, odds are he wouldn't be drafted by the Ravens so he's gonna have to move sooner or later. OSU is as good as almost anyone at getting WRs drafted early, and he's only an hour flight from home, so how on earth can he justify picking Maryland? And for that matter, Auburn? Unless his aspirations are to be the next Devin Aromashodu, I don't see what they can offer him.
If you have enough talent the NFL will find you. Picking maryland won't give him as much national exposure as tOSU, but Sammy Watkins got the attention of the national media playing at Clemson so TIFWIW.
NCbucknut: I don't know. NFL teams have consisently drafted players from bad programs who can run a 4.3 and jump through the rafters. If Diggs has the tools, he can almost as easily become a 1st round draft choice by going to MD as if he'd gone to a top program.
The reason he should be attracted to Ohio State is for less individualistic reasons: he has a burning desire to win at everything he does, not just advance his pro prospects, and he wants to be part of something special - he wants to be immersed in a particular culture.
Jamal Marcus would have had the resources to make it to the NFL at ECU, but he wasn't just thinking about his first contract 3-5 years from now.
Bergy - Clemson is packed with talent and is a FAR bigger stage than Maryland.
If you have the tools it doesn't matter where you play, the NFL will find you. Look at DHB, Torrey Smith and Vernon Davis. Maryland hasn't done squat over the last decade but these guys seem to be doing OK. DHB and VD were top 10 picks.
That being said, I would love to see the kid in Scarlet and Grey.
Meg wouldn't even answer the phone when Maryland called.
Sox33OSU - agreed Clemson has a much greater football brand and following, I think that kind of attention should be his goal picking Maryland over the others.
James F - Don't know where you are getting Maryland not doing squat over the last decade. Before this past season, Maryland had won 8 or more games in 6 of the previous 10 seasons. They were a very good program under Friedgen, but Edsall is not at that level. For that matter, as I mentioned, who knows who the coach will be during Diggs' tenure? Meyer is not leaving OSU anytime soon, that's for sure. We also have a far better track record at putting WRs in the NFL than Maryland.
SOX33OSU, would you be happy with 8 wins 60% of the time? It seems like Maryland wasn't happy with it, since they fired Friedgen.
Maybe Diggs wants to start Maryland from the ground up, and bring then to national prominence?
James, I have no idea why Maryland fired Friedgen. He was fresh off of winning the ACC COY award and winning 9 games out of nowhere. I think it's safe to say they regret that decision, and if he was still there I'd completely understand Diggs wanting to go there. However, they are not a program on the up and up right now. If he goes there, it is strictly due to proximity, and recruits making that kind of decision (as I highlighted earlier in this thread) generally will live to regret it.
EDIT: I did not point that out in this thread. I have no idea which one of the 9859356 Diggs threads I posted it in, but I promise I made a great point.
He has stated that the most important thing to him is to have a chance to win a National Championship. If thats the case Maryland is out. It's either tOSU or Florida imo. I will go with Fla. and I'm totally ok with that since there will be no Bowl game or B1G Championship next year anyhow. Jailin Marshall will fill that role for us next year and we know a true frosh can come in here and get the job done... ala 2003.
I just got back from the future. Diggs is a Buckeye. Realized that the player he envisions being at Florida is a player developed by a certain coach, not a certain team. Also realized Auburn is located in Alabama. When asked about Maryland, tweeted, "lol srsly? smh."
You're all welcome. #GraySportsAlmanac
Class of 2008
Fido, I absolutely agree with you regarding being part of the Buckeye culture is an amazing thing. But to my limited knowledge there are no Buckeye ties in his past. Having those ties makes it much easier for recruit to understand that passion. But lets face it for many top recruits the long term goal is the NFL. With hard work and commitment to the program you choose. where is the best place for me to go to achieve that long term goal? I am not saying it could not be achieved at Maryland of course it can. Hell look at Pierre Garcon, although not a 1st rounder, Mount Union College. The point is if a recruit wants to be that 1st rounder and the signing bonus that comes with that achievement I think in overwhelming #'s that Maryland in their current state would make that dream more difficult than say tOSU, Florida or Auburn for that matter. Now personally I would rather have a recruit with the passion you described as the reason to be a Buckeye. But when you recruit on a national scale it is something emphasized to a recruit and is part of the big picture but is probably not the main factor with some big-time out of staters becoming a Buckeye. If he makes the decision he will soon know that passion of what it means to wear the Scarlet and Grey!
Make Will-Way your Way!
I agree with the poster above..I could see if maryland was making strides, but the program acutally took a few steps BACK this year..they should have NEVER hired that UConn coach randy edsall or whatever.
