The Scout VIP "Ask the Insiders" forum has gone bannanas about a BIG transfer to OSU.
Anybody have info? Names: Bernard, Depriest, Story, Floyd

Update: "There is a HUGE transfer in the works. Big name kid wants to come play for Ohio State."
"My sources are saying BIG BIG...." that's all my Googling around reveals. But can't go public or it'd fall through.
I would assume RB/WR
Please be Bryce Brown..........
vacuuming sucks
If you guys want the link: https://secure.scout.com/a.z?s=145&p=12&requestedurl=http%3a%2f%2fmbd.sc....
Scout OSU tweeted it earlier
Alex, you got anything?
I know there's a game saturday, and my ass will be there.
Is that VIP? it keeps getting me to the sign up thing. I can't find this story any where else.
" I went for two cause I couldn't go for three."
-woody Hayes
same here built....
I know there's a game saturday, and my ass will be there.
Yeah it's their "Ask the Insiders" page. It has 9 pages of posts. They said they can't say who it is or the transfer might fall through.
Yes it's VIP
Please be a stud RB or WR.
I would assume if it is true that it's VERY insider information. Does anybody know what big potential fishes are on the market? I would have to guess that Urbz would only take a SPEED guy now.
WHat they are giving Tim Tebow 4 more years!!?!?!? How'd u do it URbz?!?!
i hope its not bs
I know there's a game saturday, and my ass will be there.
Well we apparently are still sitting at 81/82...
Yeah no BS plz.
Would be amazing if it were a guy like De'Anthony Thomas or another player of that stature. As for Bryce Brown, no thanks. That guy was lightning fast but he can't seem to stay at any one school and as of now isn't even a college player.
Just checked the Florida roster JRs Mike gillislee could be the one was a frosh when it was Urbans last year. Hope this is true because that kid is FAST.
" I went for two cause I couldn't go for three."
-woody Hayes
Wouldn't they have to sit a year out anyway?
Andre debose and trey burton are some other guys I can see transferring.
" I went for two cause I couldn't go for three."
-woody Hayes
Mike gillislee would not because he is entering his SR year but he would have to get into grad school.
" I went for two cause I couldn't go for three."
-woody Hayes
I thought Muschamp said he won't let anyone transfer to OSU after Meyer was hired. If that stance has changed, I would love to see Jeff Driskel come here.
anyone have a vip account over there? listen in and see whats up........(reluctantly excited btw)
I know there's a game saturday, and my ass will be there.
I want somebody fast just so they can help jalin Marshall with that Percy harvin role.
" I went for two cause I couldn't go for three."
-woody Hayes
Alex do you know any names?
" I went for two cause I couldn't go for three."
-woody Hayes
I'll believe this when I see it.
I have absolutely no knowledge of the situation... but if I had to throw out a random guess, I'd say it's Jordan Hicks.
I hope there's something legit to this story. Would be pretty cool.
If you ain't a Silver Bullet, you're a target
I would say if it's a "big" name, it's some serious star power who doesn't like his situation.
Kyle Kalis? 2 weeks later, and he realized he really FUBARED NLOI Day? Too much bleeding will occur in November, unless he changed his mind?
OBVIOUSLY, its Stefon Diggs
"Love my State, hate the football"
Is he from Florida hope ?he has serious speed!
" I went for two cause I couldn't go for three."
-woody Hayes
Anyone have any access to that scout board? Would love to know who they are talking about? My gut tells me it has to be a guy from Florida.
Does Trey Burton really count as a *BIG* potential transfer though? What's he going to do, come here and sit on the bench some more?
If it's Diggs...I'll streak at the spring game.
Any help here Alex?
Same recruitbuck, trey burton might be that guy, he barely plays in the wrong system, plus he is listed as a full back on the Florida roster.
" I went for two cause I couldn't go for three."
-woody Hayes
@Builtforthenuthouse -- Well fullback/h-back is what he'd play for us here....
Jeremy Lin?
Buckeyeinnyc he could play slot he has some speed that is rare (until these are all urban recruits).
" I went for two cause I couldn't go for three."
-woody Hayes
Ha Sox33osu, Burton coming here to sit the bench some more, made me laugh. I'm sure he won't be "sitting" the bench.... Urban is looking for the "best" clip board holder in the business, someone who can signal in plays like his hair is on fire, and isn't afraid of competion for lead scout team QB.
What about Duron Carter? victim of Oversigning Saban, so he completes the circle in Columbus?
Duron carter is not a *big* potential transfer.
" I went for two cause I couldn't go for three."
-woody Hayes
well Danny O'Brien is transferring from Maryland but it can't possibly be him right?
Like someone before me said, I have no knowledge when it comes to this particular situation. But I wouldn't bet on it being anyone from florida. With the bad blood and bitter taste left in their mouths by urban, I wouldn't see them releasing anyone to transfer to play for him. I would guess its someone he may have recruited but didn't get before, or an ohio kid who went elsewhere and wants to come home. Like I said, I'm not an expert on about any of this, but I would think its one of those two possibilities
don't hold out too long on us Alex
I heard danny o'brien might be headed to wisconsin.
It's not O'Brien. Period. Doesn't fit.
Maybe Driskel?
Why is everyone guessing qb? What qb would want to transfer to a team where he has no shot of playing barring an injury?
I would guess it would be either a stud RB or a WR. I was just looking at the Fla roster.
MoC transferring from the Omaha Nighthawks?
"You're pissed because we went after a committed guy? Guess what, we got 9 guys who better go do it again," said Meyer. "Do it a little harder next time."
How long are long until you let the cat out of the bag, Alex?
The Fab Five were so revolutionary that scUM's basketball program has been completely irrelevant since they left!
same recruitbuck.
" I went for two cause I couldn't go for three."
-woody Hayes
If it's a big move, it's usually the best for people with info to hold onto it until it's a done deal.
will you write something about it alex?
" I went for two cause I couldn't go for three."
-woody Hayes
Good god guys give him a break. If it happens, I'm sure he'll enlighten us. It's insider info, which people don't reveal prematurely.
If you read the first few posts, the guy that originally posted about it on Scout said that if the info gets out it could compromise the deal.
Does "BIG" maybe mean Big 10? Maybe a disgruntled Penn State'r following the "Urban Trail" recentley blazed from the sticks of Pennsylvania to the promise land of Columbus?
@recruitbuck - Since when did a kid transferring schools become a backroom deal? Not like if someone finds out that he wants to transfer to tOSU the feds(NCAA) are going to break his door down and haul him away....
Maybe the kid hasn't spoken with his family and friends about it yet? Maybe the kid isn't completely sure? Maybe he is concerned himself about it getting leaked prematurely?
Who knows why Pittsburgh but I'm fine with sitting back to wait & see if it pans out.
Being that it has *BIG*, perhaps a lineman, Seantrel?
Guess we'll find out eventually
"You're pissed because we went after a committed guy? Guess what, we got 9 guys who better go do it again," said Meyer. "Do it a little harder next time."
I love how everyone is trying to look into every small detail of the post.. chill out, sit back, grab a beer, and WAIT!!
@Pitt:
I'm just posting what the guy said.
And I think by BIG he meant like a big name player
If recruitniks know about it, I am 100% sure that his family knows about it.
Oh I guarentee it, that doesn't mean that the potential transfer-ee doesn't want details leaked while he's still attending his school and working with his team, incase it doesn't work out.
@recruitbuck - do you have a guess? And my other post was not directed at you as so much the comment from the scout board
Better be HUGE with our schollie situation. Better be better than any 2013 recruit we are still after, will take a spot away. Of course I guess they could transfer and be a walk on if from an affluent family. I guess we shall see.
@GABUCKEYE
i like your style. cheers!
If I had to guess, he would have to be a blue chip/4-5* equivalent coming in ready to start. I haven't seen the Scout board; however, I think we'll be getting news about this soon.
OSU wouldn't give up a spot for a 4/5* freshman if it weren't for a stud.
trey depriest is the name im throwing out of the hat. May be wishful thinking though. but he would still have some years left here. we need some LB help also.
I wonder if it could be former #1 overall recruit Ronald Powell? Just a guess. I heard rumors awhile back that he could transfer. I'm just guessing though.
Muck Fichigan
I think Sentreal Henderson makes sense: position of need at a school about to get nailed by the NCAA. Having said that I want to apologize for bringing up his name. Hope his dad stays away if I'm lucky and am right.
Just a guess!
"They hate us because they ain't us" - Sully
Given that Muschamp isn't open to letting UF kids transfer, looking at UNC kids makes sense. I'm not familiar with UNC's roster but they've got to have a stud or two who could be a viable candidate given the Withers connection.
If you ain't a Silver Bullet, you're a target
Maybe Urban told Sharrif Floyd he had a dream that Floyd transfered to OSU.
I heard Andrew Luck is coming, gonna play 2 quartback system!
Tough times never last, tough people do
ThirdLegLouie: the UNC theory makes some sense. Maybe the player knows that NCAA sanctions are coming soon? If so, players might be able to transfer without sitting out a year? On the other hand, he'd have to wait until the sanctions officially came down before announcing/initiating the transfer. Giovani Bernard?
Meg Lentz?
O H I O is the Buckeye State
Meg doesn't transfer to another school. The school transfers to Meg.
Maybe we'll get that speed guy that we missed out on with he who went to the Terps.
Class of 2010.
Gotta be Meg.
It's Dan Marino.
The Ronald Powell idea is interesting. I live in Ca about 20 mins from where he went to high school at Rancho Verde and their football uniforms resemble TOSU.
http://espn.go.com/high-school/football/story/_/id/4700373/powell-grows-...
He already looks good in the Scarlet and Gray!
Another DE end tho? I just don't see the need for it
Favorite Buckeye: Obviously BJ Mullens
I'm with BJ Mullens on this one. Hopefully it is a game changer either at LB or WR.
BTW, I was COMPLETELY kidding about Bryce Brown. Dude is considering entering the NFL Draft........huh?
vacuuming sucks
Meastro - He actually did enter the draft. Sad thing is, he could end up getting drafted on potential alone. Kid is 215-220 with great speed, but man is he a headcase.
thanks
vacuuming sucks
For the transfer to play this year, would he need to meet one of three criteria?: Plays at a school where there has been a coaching change, a college graduate who can move to work on his masters at another university(Wisky Wilson), or where a freshman can ask to be let out of his LOI because of violations. All others would have to sit out a year and probably would not do them any good in their pro status.
I also thought there was a talk of not allowing college grads to move to another univ. the way Wilson did.
Good info, Jim. However, even if the transfer has to sit out a season, it wouldn't make him any less of a big name.
Seriously wondering who it is. Once you get something Alex, please let us know or keep us in the loop if you would. Thanks man
Shendig
Has to be an impact LB, OL or speed guy because that's what we lack right now. I just can't see us using one of our limited 2013 schollies on anything else.
Hicks and DePreist both seem like obvious choices but I'm not really sure they'd leave. Both will probably start next year and DePreist has another shot at a national title.
Hopefully we find out soon.
There was talk on the scout forums, back in January, about their Middle Linebacker that was a 3 year starter for the Akron Zips, and had recently graduated, possibly coming to OSU. He has 1 year eligibility left and wouldn't have to sit out a year. Kid had 14 tackles against OSU this year. Brain Wagner is his name.
ooops, after typing it out, I saw on google that Wagner took his talents to Tuscon Arizona with Rich Rod.
Hmm... just posted a thread on this at the Hineygate board, and the first answer I got was -
"Good friend of Braxton Miller is the rumor i heard"
Umm...Depriest?
After careful thought, it comes down to one guy & one guy only. A former all-SEC athlete, it HAS to be this guy.......
Dwayne Schintzius
He has eligibility left and we have the major he needs. The Dwayne Train will line up at TE. The one thing that's restricting this blockbuster move right now is that Urban has a very strict "No Mullets" rule posted in the WHAC. So, as of now....Dwayne is mulling it over.
"You win with people." - Woody Hayes
If it is DePreist, imagine how pissed Saban would be haha.
Locking down the Ohio boarders!
That would be BIG if it is DePriest.
ABSOLUTELY HUGE!
Shendig
I was hoping it was Tebow
Being serious here of names being rumored
QB Jeff Driskel
LB Trey DePriest
OT Seantrel Henderson
DT Sharrif Floyd
OLB Jordan Hicks
QB Trey Burton
Jim Tressel (Special Teams Coach) (I wish)
Stefon Diggs is back in talks as well, reports saying that he has not signed his LOI to Maryland yet and Urban is still trying to recruit him. Transfer rules do not apply until sometime in April and that is only if you sign. Danny O'Brien (QB for Terps) is trying to transfer to Vanderbilt, but coach Edsall is trying to prevent that from happening so that transfer is all up in the air right now but if he leaves nobody proven that can throw the ball to Diggs. After all that being said, don't get to excited about Diggs lol.
I tried to dig into as much as I could on this rumor. The name won't surface anytime publicly for fear that it may hurt OSU's chances of it happening. It's only a possible transfer. Maybe somebody just posted something to stir things up so hold onto your seats.
I'd put money that if it is true, it's DePriest.
If so, Nick Saban is gonna be HOT (angry)!
Shendig
From that list, I'd say the most realistic choice would be DePriest or Hicks. LBs are in need and they are both OH kids...who knows though
"Love my State, hate the football"
What about Ronald Powell or Ju'Juan Story?
If it's Trey Depriest, I'll pass out from excitement. Not getting my hopes up at all, but that would be un-fuc*****-believable.
If you ain't a Silver Bullet, you're a target
Does Muschamp have final say? GO BUCKS!!

"The height of human desire is what wins, whether it's on Normandy Beach or in Ohio Stadium." ~Woody Hayes~
I doubt its Hicks I'm pretty sure he started at Texas last year and unless hes homesick or still salty that Muschamp peaced after he signed I doubt he'd go. My money is on Depriest although Henderson wouldn't suprise me either with whats going on at the U
Speaking of Depriest...where is he on the depth chart at aAlabama?
------------------------------------------------------------
"The height of human desire is what wins, whether it's on Normandy Beach or in Ohio Stadium." ~Woody Hayes~
Spencer Ware?
I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.
Also, someone on the internet said that it's not DePriest. But the rumor is that it's someone who's close friends with Braxton Miller, so Depriest fits that bill too...
I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.
So close friends with Braxton might imply from Braxton's class. Any idea on guys we missed in that class that might be who the mystery guy is?
Question- I heard that UMd QB O'Brien is graduating, then taking his 4th year of eligibility with him as a graduate student-how could Edsall block his move to any other team? I was under the impresssion that graduates have no restrictions on them as to where they play, and do not have to sit out a year. I'm confused.
@Southbymidwest
Article here might lighten upon the subject of O'Brien
@Hayze
DePriest was his only close friend in his class, Fickell tried to bring him aboard but he chose Saban. Maybe he is homesick.
Well, I'm just going to sit back and wait. The people who know about this aren't talking, so I guess we'll find out about it when it's official. Probably later this week, but that's just a gut feeling.
I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.
Wouldn't Saban just block Depriest?
Favorite Buckeye: Obviously BJ Mullens
I could see it being DePriest.. did he not sign with Alabama partially because of his connection with Sunseri, who is now at Tennessee?
Also, weren't there rumblings about Joshua Shaw leaving Florida a while back? He was down to OSU and Florida in is original recruitment. Did he ever decide on where he would be transferring?
"What we do in life echoes in eternity"
The other one somebody mentioned was Spencer Ware. He's intriguing as a runner, but he is more of a bruiser, not the kind of guy Urban needs to round out this offense. OSU already has that type of back on the roster, but it's still intriguing nonetheless.
"What we do in life echoes in eternity"
Ware doesn't make sense. He's a starter at LSU this year and OSU hardly recruited him in the first place. I think another name to consider would be Aundrey Walker.
Looking around, like to transfer from OSU? Or to OSU?
TO OSU
Come on guys, read the first few posts on this thread :P I did some digging, and I'll see what's up today.
Glad I could create some conversation though guys :)
Alex -
How LIKELY is this "transfer"? Would you say... 35% likely to happen? 75% likely to happen?
I would say it's not likely to happen unless it's a huge name. Why get 1-2 years out of a guy when you could get a blue chipper with 4-5 years left? Doesn't make much sense.
I heard its Denard Robinson.
Honestly as clueless as you all....have the name of one kid who apparently was unrelated to this rumor but that is likely NOT going to end up here....this other kid apparently there could be something to...I guess 50/50 being that it's either he comes or he doesn't haha
CPLUNK- I hear we do want a playmaker at WR haha
@Recruitbuck
You are absolutely right. Its gotta be a big name if it is just for a year of eligibility. I would expect that the ONE year is 2013 when we are making a run at a NC. And the position that would make the most sense, even if it were for one year, would be a fast shifty type to play the harvin role in this offense or possibly the athletic H-back. Other positions were pretty well covered in this years class- along the lines, LB's and DB's won't be nearly as 'green' entering that 2013 season.
Hmmm. Is there any current Wisky player or new commit that would be a HUGE transfer? I can't think of anyone that is really worth losing a scholly for unless we're talking a player with plenty of eligibility left. Past that, I can't even think of any huge get on their team as they tend to take lesser ranked players & coach them up anyways. There are plenty of ppl who still believe there was/is something else to BB's hissy fit & I guess something like this could fit the bill (just b/c I assume there are pretty strict rules about contact in regards to a transfer).
Certainly don't think this has any legs, just throwing it out for convo.
Trey DePriest is listed as one of Bama's 2012 starting LBs by Rivals depth chart.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but transfers can't play the first year (unless they meet certain conditions) PLUS they also lose a year of eligibility. DePriest was a freshman last year (not redshirted). So if it's him and Saban releases him, he'd be eligible his junior and senior seasons starting in 2013.
Anyone know anything about NCAA rules on coaches granting releases? When can they stop a player from transferring or do they have carte blanche powers re releases?
#fistpumpgobuckeyes
If a player transfers from another D1 school, yes, they have to sit out a year. But they don't lose a year of elgibility. Justin Boren is an example of this.
If I was going to throw out some 50/1 bets just for fun, I still kinda like the UNC angle:
Giovani Bernard (RB), Kiaro Holts (OT), James Hurst (OT), TJ Holt (KR/WR), Travis Hughes (MLB).
Not sure if any of these would be "huge" and/or friends with Braxton Miller, but they represent the best frosh/soph prospects on UNC at potential need positions for Ohio State.
Definitely Giovani Bernard, yet we're loaded in the backfield. Trey DePriest is the most likely candidate I would think.
@juventas, I did some googling and found out we're both kinda right. Got what I was looking for from an article David Jones did when Rob Bolden was trying to transfer last year. http://blog.pennlive.com/davidjones/2011/01/ncaa_regulations_governing_r...
Yes, players do lose a year of eligibility if they transfer. However, if the transferee hasn't taken a redshirt year (which DePriest hasn't) they can apply that to the year they have to sit out.
Here's the pertinent info:
Probably the more telling part of the article is about what recourse the transferee has if he doesn't get a release. I think if it's DePriest that is definitely going to be the case... ie Saban is a d-bag.
#fistpumpgobuckeyes
The transfer rumors have been Isaiah Crowell from UGA but I don't see that happening. Has anyone put any thought into Aundrey Walker? He is not getting the playing time and the possibility of being homesick could be a factor.
My sources are telling me Maurice Clarett is showing interest.
My sources can be trusted because they're trusted sources.
Sources.
HAHA this^
Denard Robinson! He always wanted to play for Ohio ;)
@Rooster, Athens would have been too "country" for TP. Guess Nard doesn't mind the fresh air.
#fistpumpgobuckeyes
Well, Issiah Crowell always does seem to transfer during my NCAA dynasties...
Rob Bolden could definitely be a possibility, but I don't see him being a "BIG" transfer. If it's a quarterback, I think Jeff Driskel is the one.
I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.
Regarding Trey DePriest and Alabama: I thought the university does not offer 4-year football scholarships. So, are they one-year scholarships that are renewed ONLY at the discretion of the university (Saban) or can the player exercise an 'out' as well? My thought being that if the player was indeed Trey DePriest, he could play right away based on exercising his 'out' and not having to sit out a year (from what NC_Buckeye posted re: redshirting.)
thanks.
jw
I live in Springfield and found out its not Trey. He was just up here to see his family and is happy in Alabama.
@JMW - It doesn't matter whether or not the school (Alabama) allows the player to transfer without recourse. The issue is it's an NCAA mandated rule that if a player transfers from one FBS school to another, that player must sit out one academic year.
The only way to get around it is 1) if a family hardship situation arises causing a player to transfer closer to his home or 2) a player wants to pursue a graduate degree in a field of study not offered at his current university.
"What we do in life echoes in eternity"
Stefon Diggs signing with Maryland is looking like more of a dumb choice by the day.
"You win with people." - Woody Hayes
There was never a day that signing with Maryland was a smart choice...
How about sammy watkins from clemson if we are going all caps BIG.
Urban would get him multiple heismans
I doubt it's Driskel...as much as Urban has been raving about Braxton I just don't think he is gonna bring in someone who could fracture the relationship he is building with Miller. Not to mention we already have offers out to multiple QB's for 2013. I don't know if we take 2 but we will definitely get 1 of the guys offered.
Also, I can't see taking yet another DT or DE or LB for that matter. This 2012 class was focused on those two positions and did probably better than expected in that area.
The only logical spots I can see are WR or OL, in my opinion. I'm gonna guess Ju'Juan Story.
Champions Bleed Scarlet & Gray
Sammy Watkins would be SO sick. Nothing would indicate that it's him, but that's pretty much best case scenario.
I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.
I know 3 years of eligibility left and is a multiple heisman winner in Urban's system!
" I went for two cause I couldn't go for three."
-woody Hayes
U guys are streching way too far with Sammy Watkins lol
Theres no stretching it too far when someone uses all caps.
I've heard DT Sharrif Floyd mentioned a few places recently (including here).
If they're using all caps to describe "BIG" then I think it has to be someone like Sammy Watkins.
I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.
LOL @ all the fools who think "it could be Sammy Watkins." What are you, HS boys?!
I heard it was Matt Barkley. Yeah, it was Matt Barkely or his hot girlfriend. One or the other.
I'm not saying it's Sammy Watkins. There's nothing to indicate that it is. But saying it's a "BIG" transfer implies someone who is VERY good. So, you never know.
I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.
I don't necessarily see "BIG" as being a star player or a BIG name, but perhaps just someone who would fill an important need for the Bucks. Though I suppose it's relative (and vague), so people will see it as they choose to.
I just have trouble believing if it was someone the caliber of Sammy Watkins there wouldn't be a LOT more rumbling about it. And I don't see that someone who's already a star somewhere else would even want to bother changing teams. Why sacrifice a year when you're already being looked at by NFL scouts? No need to change scenery. Someone who was a big name recruit but hasn't gotten the time or attention where they're at (ala Sharrif Floyd) is much more likely to me.
Things seem to have quieted down.
Some things to consider:
For those reasons, I'm going to make an educated guess that 1.) It's an offensive player and 2.)It'd be a damn big name in order for Urban to take him over a 4 or 5* recruit with more potential playing time at OSU.
Rumor mill is saying Sharrif Floyd is putting in for a Family Hardship transfer FWIW
If you ain't a Silver Bullet, you're a target
@ThirdLeg- What does the Family Hardship transfer do for a player? Does it change basic transfer rules? And one more, where is Floyd from? Much appreciated in advance if you can answer any of these, if not no problem.
family hardship lets the player be eligible to play for the school he transfers to immediatly.
" I went for two cause I couldn't go for three."
-woody Hayes
Floyd is from
DC area.phillyvacuuming sucks
I believe Floyd played football in Pennsylvania
Muck Fichigan
He's from Philadelphia
Muck Fichigan
I know very little about the specifics of a family hardship waiver. It is my understanding that it lets a player not have to sit out a year. Floyd is from the Philly area- don't know how Columbus would qualify as a local school for him though, which I believe is a requirement for the hardship waiver. Like the WR from TN who just transferred to MSU (because his dad was ill and lived near MSU) under a family hardship. Don't know Floyd's circumstances and am just going to wait for details.
If you ain't a Silver Bullet, you're a target
DeAnthony Arnett is the WR you're talking about. From what I understand, he had a choice between any Michigan school as long as that school did not play Tennessee. His choices ended up being between TTUN and MSU and he ultimately chose MSU. I think the same would apply for Floyd. But, I believe Florida can eliminate OSU as a possibility for Floyd. I'm not completely sure on that though.
Muck Fichigan
I was totally joking on sammy watkins. That guy would be a first rounder this year. Hed be insane to sit out a year. His offense may be better For him to showcase himself now than osu, remember urban wanted chad morris to come before we got herman.
@The419- Urban didn't want Chad Morris and never reached out to him, at least according to Urban. That was a rumor he dispelled at a press conference. Did say he had a lot of respect for Chad Morris though.
If you ain't a Silver Bullet, you're a target
Pretty sure there are some stipulations regarding common player/commits/recruits between UF and OSU under Meyer's new contract for a little while. Does anyone have the specifics?
@thirdleglouie good call, i didnt know that. Thanks, now i can tell my clemson inlaws that urban didnt want him and get them all hot and bothered
I heard Issaiah Crowell wanted to transfer. Who knows? Don't need another rb really.
Isiah Crowell would probably start here lol
Issaiah Crowell failed a drug test and was suspended at UGA thats not the kind of kid Urban would take reguardless of his talent. He had enough of those problems at florida plus lets not forget were on probation and thats a high risk kid for problems
i dont want Crowell or any of the UGa runningbacks given how they were dominated by both Boise and Michigan State. Hell, we put up better rushing numbers against Sparty despite having an awful offensive line and extremely predictable playcalling.
If it's Crowell (unlikely) then I think Jordan Hall would move to receiver full-time. Having Crowell as the #1 and Hyde as the #2 would be SO sick.
Again, it's very unlikely. But that would be insane.
I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.
Rumors are its Giovanni Bernard from unc, supposedly it's all but a done deal, kid really wants to be a buckeye from what I hear
Gio Bernard is a stud...saw him play in the Shoe as a HS Senior....was impressed then and was impressed last year at UNC
I agree with Alex, I have saw his highlights and he is the real deal. But we have enough running backs on the team that we shouldn't be wasting a scholarship on another running back. I think we need to be selective with our scholarships considreing we lose a few every year. I guess thats why they pay URban the big bucks tho!
What are people thoughts on making Ken Guitton a "Harvin" type player? Listed at 6'-2" 190 with good speed. It would make him a bigger threat knowing he can throw the rock! I hate to see him hold a clipboard all season and see talent go to waste. Thoughts?
This would be awesome.
He'd have to sit a year or take his redshirt year I take it?
He redshirted his first year at unc after tearing his acl, heard he was hoping to be able to play this year due to the sanctions and bowl bans unc is facing but the only way that is possible is if your teams bowl ban is equal to or greater than your remaining years of elegibility, which in Bernard's case would be 3 yrs, and seeing as its unlikely they get a 3 yr bowl ban it looks as if he will have to sit a yr and loose that yr of elegibility
I didn't know much about this kid when I first saw the name, but Google is a wonderful tool. If this is the guy, it would be awesome. That's some serious production from a freshman. This could be that X factor Urban wants.
Could be the guy Urban thinks could take them to a Championship in 2013
