According to Pete Roussel, Ohio State corners coach Bill Sheridan is a strong candidate to become the Tampa Bay Bucs defensive coordinator.
It's a great vertical move for Sheridan, but it would be a shame to see him leave before ever coaching a game at tOSU. I'm sure Urban will fill the spot with a great candidate and Sheridan's contract will be voided, but I'm hoping that the Bucs pick someone else.

Selfishly, I hope he doesn't get the job, but I suppose Coach Meyer can always find somebody else. It would just be tough to see the turnover at that position.
It was on footballscoop.com early last night, fwiw
This is what happens when you bring on great assistants. I seriously think we'll see even more staff turnover in the next two or three years because of the quality of these guys. However, as I hope this become the mantra for this tOSU team "Next Man Up", I think the same will hold true for the coaches because if Urban gets guys promoted thats who every assistant will want to work for.
tough to find someone now to be corners coach....hoping if Bill leaves they somehow convince Chuck Heater
Nick Siciliano is available.
Why would a highly sought after QB coach go for a CB's coaching position?
Ramzy's got jokes lmao
If you ain't a Silver Bullet, you're a target
Does Earle Bruce have another grandson we could throw in at CBs?
If you ain't a Silver Bullet, you're a target
Ramzy actually doesn't have jokes there. I think Siciliano might make a gangster DB's coach. I mean-a majority of the QB's he coached this year had passes end up in the wrong spot. Who better to teach DB's on how to get to the ball than him? I think this might be something Urbs should look into.
4-6 seconds from point A to point B and when you get to point B, be pissed off
Brewstersmillions FTW.
Fick can coach the LBs and DBs, can't he?
Keep Calm and Ignore the Trolls.
@BrewstersMillions- Wow! That's the type of outside the box thinking I can respect! Siciliano might be THE man for the job. Don't call it a comeback..
If you ain't a Silver Bullet, you're a target
I think we should go steal a Big Ten secondary coach to piss more big ten teams off
Heaterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Come on Urbz, make it happen!
Heater is 60 years old. He has been all over the country coaching. He is the defensive coordinator at Temple. He may have grown tired of picking up the house and moving.
looks like it is happening per bucknuts (shouldn't hurt us with Eli or Cam, Right?) and maybe we'll get a guy who has a little more experience with DBs (Heater would be nice, but it didn't happen last time, so I am not holding my breath). Does Withers have a position, could he be the DBs coach? And then we pick up another coach for a different area like special teams or something?
yep, looks like he's gone. after heater, anyone have any names?
Can't blame a guy. DC for an NFL team is a slight promotion over CB coach at OSU. Then again, that's a ringing endorsemnt to the quality of staff Urban is putting together.
If you ain't a Silver Bullet, you're a target
Sucks, but I would rather it happen now then after Spring Practice. Time to raid someone.
vacuuming sucks
@Thirdleglouie I completely agree with you, I think we'll see more staff turn over the next year or two because of the quality of Urban's assistants the he brings in. However, because he gets guy's promoted, what coach wouldn't want to work for him?
how about Richard McNutt, (former Buckeye DB; & NCAA/NFL assistant coach)
