Are we done recruiting db's for the 2013 class? Seems like we have a few more offers out to some top players, but seem pretty set at the position.
What position is of the highest need for this class?

Does tOSU have a decent shot at landing Kettering Altar's QB Malik Zaire? Seems like he might be a tad more interested in ND from casual observation?
Can you do a rundown of scholarship availability for the next three years? I know that some people will transfer, quit, be kicked off, and regular attrition, but it would be interesting to see what type of scenario you see regarding the next three years and the scholarship situation, how many u think we can get next year, and the year after, etc. and still be in good position to be at or under 82 total.
Just to give a bit of an outlook and shed some light to others in a longer-term approach.
1. What are Urban's top 5 (no particular order) recruits that he is currently pushing the hardest for?
2. What are the chances of landing Breneman AND Heuerman, or will OSU only take one?
What are your thoughts on the "board" chatter about Urban not offering Ohio recruits right away? Do you think this will have any impact on the Evan Lisle recruitment?
With so many siblings of former players coming into the program (Borens, Heuerman, hopefully Smith), does Joe Bauserman have a younger brother that we can recruit?
Do we have a legitimate shot at Vernon Hargreaves III?
Where are we with Dymonte Thomas?
By the Spring game how many recruits do you think we have?
What is the latest with Zaire?
What is the latest with Jaylon Smith?
Has a date been set for Friday Night Lights?
Why do you seem so sure that OSU is heading for a top recruiting class? Is it faith in Urban, a good feeling about certain recruits committing, or do you have some other information you're holding from us?!
Same Malike Zaire question I always have: Why do some people say that he doesn't have a committable offer? Is this a straight up guess or is there a RELIABLE source behind it?
You keep implying that our class will be in the twenties for 2013 but that would imply 3--6 players transferring, getting kicked out, or taking hardships. Are you striaght up guessing here or do you have some players pegged already?
I'd like to know more about Urban's recruiting process. What are the recruiting responsibilities of the coaching staff, are they regional, positional, or situational? Which coaches are making the greatest impression on the recruiting trail, and is anyone emerging as Urban's "top" recruiter? Finally, what exactly is Pantoni's role as recruiting coordinator?

My question: who do you think will be the top five recruits in the class when it's all said and done? No particular order needed.

My question would be this. I know we have the list of offer and commits pinned to the top of the forum but it is huge with a ton of wish list guys. I am a moderate recruit junkie. Would you narrow things down a bit for me. Could you name one guy at each position who you see as wish list guys but have us being in their top 5 (meaning we have a decent shot at landing them 20% or better) and then one guy at each position that you feel is as close to a lock as possible. That way I can look at highlights and track those recruit progress rather than try to follow all the Top 250 guys in the country.
On my own personal note people need to RELAX. The 2012 class is not even in school yet. The 2013 class has not even played a down of their senior season yet but because TTUN gets 11 billion guys to commit over a weekend everyone is in a panic. Most of the guys who committed to SCUM we did not even want or are not in positions of need. The Ohio kids will come. The national guys will come. We will have a TOP 5 class if 2013 if not the NUMBER 1 class and it will be better than TTUN's.

Do you think McCray has received the same assurance that Lisle did regarding a scholarship offer?
Aren't all these early Michigan verbals actually a good thing for OSU? Michigan should have their class in tact well before signing day. Meyer is notorious for getting kids who play the hat game commit to his school. All the hype and excitement are going to be in the Buckeyes' favor when it matters - close to NSD. Kudos to Michigan for getting early verbals - but in the end - I think that OSU steals the show.
How about a Ross-like analysis of Meyer's Florida classes (&/or other stops) to see what we're possibly in for? Trends in recruiting, types of kids he went for, how this may have differed from other places, or maybe some strategies he used to employ? I know a lot of folks have been wondering what he's doing exactly with offering home kids later than some of these national recruits. Is this something he used to do at Florida as well?
Where do we stand with our current offers to OOS OL recruits? Which one[s] do you see as most likely to end up wearing S&G? Which one[s] are just not coming here?

Someone mentioned Hargreaves III, but do we have any chances with Fuller, who I believe is from the same school as Stefon Diggs?
Also
Should Lemay or Fulwood or Treadwell want to commit, do we take a 4th receiver (assuming Gibson and Foster are in) or do we wait and see if we miss out on Foster?

I read somewhere you have a new section on recruiting in the works. I don't know if you plan on doing anything like this, but i found a blog for gators fans that has a composite rankings for 2013 prospects from the 4 major sites: rivals, scout, 247, and ESPN. Just wondering if you are planning on doing anything like this. I realize some sites don't have their rankings out yet. Here's a link to the site I was talking about.

WR-Foster LB-McCray or Smith, OL-Lisle or Posic or Peterson, QB-Zaire, TE-Brenamen or Huerman. These are the guys I think we need to target for the core of the 2013 class ( besides Marshall, Burrows,Woodard, Price) I don't think D-line and RB are major concerns. What other possible recruits do I need to add to this list or even take off?
Is Urban recruiting a burner at the RB position?

Jalin Marshall is going to be taking some handoffs in that much hyped Percy Harvin role-- he's a burner and Derrick Green (the #1 RB target, and maybe only RB in the '13 class) consistently runs sub 4.4

What non-Ohio states did Tressel have the most success in recruiting in terms of numbers/quality of players. Where could you see Meyer building new pipelines and are there any that might dry up?
Joey Bosa. Watched his film and it seems as impressive as the Jamal Marcus film. What are our chances with this kid? He seems to be looking hard at Alabama and being a Florida kid FSU seems to have a good shot as well. Do we have any chance?
Who are the next 5 recruits to commit in your opinion? And which of those five do we need the most?

Are you still hearing positive vibes from Shelton Gibson?
Is Malik Zaire, Mitch Trubisky or Brogan Roback the preferred in-state QB target right now? Given the plethora of RB options already in the stable, will any RB besides Derrick Green be targeted heavily by the staff? Which offensive line targets do the Buckeyes have the best shot at landing for this class? Is Su'a Cravens even a realistic recruit to go after, being from California?
Why hasn't Urban offered a guy like MCcray (sp?) He is obviously highly regarded and rated the best LB in Ohio by several "experts". I do not get it and find it mind boggling and question to all the buckeye fans....do you find it concerning that Urban is focusing more on the rest of the country in regards to recruiting? As a Michigan fan, I love this not going to lie. I think Jake Butt is a guy who Tressel would have locked down and kept in state. It also seems Mccrays recrutment is shaping up to be in Michigan's favor after announcing today that he will decide on March 8th (two days after visiting Ann Arbor)
Although, I would be weary of his commitment to us if that did happen. I definitely think he is someone who can flip to Ohio late in the game with an offer. Also, I feel we have a great chance at Levenberry and O'daniel.
Rational you should read the discussion on the stickied thread. It's largely due to the fact that OSU is only going to take 2 LBs and is casting the net nationally for those two. Mccray has set his finalists and announcement date, probably knowing OSU wouldn't offer.

I saw in another post you said 15-20 offers right now are committable. Do you have any insight as to who those are and who are leaning towards the buckeyes?

Alex, you have mentioned only around 15-20 of the offers that have been handed out are commitable offers. Can you give us a sense of who some of those 15 are so we can identify the top targets?
Or maybe just identify the top 2 or 3 at each position that are being targeted by Meyer. In previous years we knew b/c Tressel handed out so few offers. Now we have so many that it becomes hard to tell who the staff really wants at the position.

Alex : I know this is probably a stupid question. But what is the difference btw an offer and a commitable offer? I don't understand why you would offer someone a full scholarship if they cannot commit? Is it offer thats saying come to a summer camp so we can allow you to commit if you show you are good enough or is it saying your 4,5,6 on our list so if our 1,2,3 guys say no you can get a scholarship?
Yes OTrain, they basically want to see them against top level competition before they will let them commit.

2. Do we have a reasonable shot at Kendall Fuller especially with Diggs (high school teammate) going else where?
3. Who do think the 1-2 running back prospects will end up being? Is there a chance of landing Ty Issacs and Derrick Green?

Also, what are the chances Cardale Jones sees the field at any point during his OSU career (other than from the sideline) ?
Finally, what is the BIGGEST need for OSU in the class of 2013?
Cardale will RS this year, and probably be a 1-2 year starter after Braxton leaves. He's bulking to 240.
