Hopefully this will put to rest all of that complaining about Meyer not going after Ohio kids. He now has 4 of the top 10 or so. More may come soon. Sure McCray is a bit puzzling, but hard to argue he isn't locking down the best Ohio guys...
oh so do I. but i love looking to see what they have after something like this so I can laugh at it, then watch them post a story about it as if they were the first to know.
Hopefully this quiets the questions about guys from Ohio being offered for a minute or two. This is great pick up - we are well on our way to an incredible 2013 class.

No problem guys. I just was thinking today, it's been almost two weeks since we've had a commit. That's weird. Well this is good news! Especially after the recent basketball struggles. Indiana beating MSU right now+Lisle=good day!
Congrats EVAN,I am thinking you will be a force for our BUCKEYES ! Did any of the other 2013 recruits call and congradulate you? So far we have 5 studs for 2013 !!!!!!!
Watching his highlight video, its obvious this kid knows how to finish off a block. Looks pretty athletic for a tackle as well. Definitely a solid pickup for urban and staff. Welcome aboard big fella!
Rational, see the "2013 Offers/Commits" thread in the forum to see who else has been offered. There are several national OTs who have been offered. I'm guessing Pocic, Gray, Bivins, and Tunsil may be considered "ahead" of Lisle on the target list, but, of course, all of that could change once they compete in practice.
I watched his film, he seems very nasty and aggressive. Gets off the ball very quick. Love seeing that in lineman. I am hoping one of these years I get a lineman like that for the HS team I coach for.
Nasty, aggressive, and gets off the ball very quick; sounds exactly like the type of O Linemen Coaches Meyer and Warinner want. I agree his film looks good, and I'm excited Evan is a Buckeye (although, I'm sure you're not so excited).
Well....to be honest, I would not replace him with any of the pick-ups that we got. Maybe Dawson and him would be a coin toss. But, like I said still a solid pick up who is going to have a great career if he puts in the time and effort. Also, there are a lot of good O lineman in the Midwest this year and I know that a lot of good ones are going to end up with you guys and Notre Dame because of the numbers game. Our O line recruiting is done obviously, the only thing I can possibly see happening is that IF Pocic still wanted to come to Michigan and we are late in the game and maybe struck out on a few guys that Hoke takes his commitment. Actually, I think Hoke would take it regardless, but Pocic is the only exception barring any decommitments of course.
Evan seems to be considered the #1 lineman in Ohio, so I'll take that. Plus, he still has a Senior season of high school football to play. In the end, I wouldn't be suprised if we take at least 4 OL in the 2013 class, but Evan is certainly a good addition in my book.
of course and a lot of our guys can regress as well. Solid pick up, looking forward to see where we both end up in rankings at the end. Even though, I feel all the rankings are very subjective. It gets me through the spring and summer that is for sure.
Of course you wouldnt Mfan, you are too rational to admit such things.
"You're pissed because we went after a committed guy? Guess what, we got 9 guys who better go do it again," said Meyer. "Do it a little harder next time."
If you just want to look at a rankings point of view:
Lisle ranks 83rd national
Our commits at O line Rankings:
Bosch: 60
Fox: 46
Kugler: 54
Tillman: 109 (but several on this board have said that you guys were pursuing him harder than Lisle, evident by the order of offers)
Dawson: 199 , with an impressive offer list, including the likes of Alabama.....Alabama offered Lisle after they struck out on guys like Dawson, Bosch and LTT.
So, to say I am not "rational" is wrong. This is my point of view at the what the so called "experts" think. Also, did admit that Lisle and Dawson are very similar and would be hard to distinguish between the two. But, of course I am the Michigan fan and understand where my place is here. Never once did I take a shot at the kid. I said and admitted the kid is going to be a beast if he has his head on right and from the looks of it he does.
Like I said, the rankings are subjective, he can very well end up being the best Lineman in this whole class four years from now. The kid is an obvious talent and at this point it is just too hard to say that Ethan Pocic or Fox are going to end up better players four years from now. These scouting services mention these names as the best at their position, once they start ranking them it becomes a little too much and too hard to accurately grade.
I don't think we were pushing LTT harder, I just think he was a out of state guy we had to get in early on (as many on this board have also stated). Would we have liked to have landed LTT and Fox, I'm sure the answer is yes, but I don't think the order of offers had anything to do with whether we wanted this guy over another guy. I'll be the first to hand it to scUM and the O-line recruiting you've had over the last two seasons (2012 and off to a great start for 2013). However, once it's all said and done I think the two O-lines will look pretty comparable on paper (once the classes pan out over the next few years). All IMO of course again, thanks for your insight on comparing Dawson and Lisle and what you think, but I think many here would disagree respectfully with you (however what do you expect really?).
It was my fault for even bringing up the comparison amongst our O line commits. I was just reacting to Bassplayers comment about me not being too excited lol. Of course I am not, but I never once thought that he wouldn't be donning the Scarlet and Grey.
Anyways, Congrats to the kid on realizing his dream of playing for his home state. Good luck to him except when he plays us lol
If you would have just posted the last paragraph of your response to me in your original post I wouldn't have needed to say anything. Like you said, with an entire year of play left before these kids sign, anything after the top 10-20 is a crapshoot.
"You're pissed because we went after a committed guy? Guess what, we got 9 guys who better go do it again," said Meyer. "Do it a little harder next time."
Agreed Alex, however what are your thoughts on Peterson? I've also read on some of the other boards that the next linemen that will commit is Pocic (granted I'll be the first to admit that it's mere speculation). What are your thoughts on that?
Any guesses? Gibson?
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
Alex just tweeted it too, I asked him who.
Evan Lisle.
That works too. Great pick up
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
Awesome news!
"Love my State, hate the football"
247 confirms.
Glad to get this guy for sure now, hopefully the start of a solid OL class.
Favorite Buckeye: Obviously BJ Mullens
Outstanding...

Great news!
LOL the mighty espn doesnt even have us offering him
ESPN's recruiting is
shitawful. I tend to stick to a combination of a bunch of Twitter feeds and 247/Scout/Rivals.oh so do I. but i love looking to see what they have after something like this so I can laugh at it, then watch them post a story about it as if they were the first to know.

Thanks Recruitbuck
Nothing like some good recruiting news
O H I O is the Buckeye State
Huge pick-up...at least a 4-star at OT.....Jeremy with the story in a few
i know about a week after something happens: BREAKING NEWS an undisclosed recruit has commited to osu.

HUGE pick-up. Congrats Evan on becoming a BUCKEYE. It's where you want to be that's for sure.
Shendig
He committed the day he was offered, but went public today. Excellent pickup!
Great addition to the class and great anchor to what hopefully is an elite offensive line class.
Now for the inevitable question...who is number 6?
I would guess Courtney Love, Shelton Gibson & Mike Heuerman would be the next string of commits. IMO anyways.
Congrats EVAN,I am thinking you will be a force for our BUCKEYES ! Did any of the other 2013 recruits call and congradulate you? So far we have 5 studs for 2013 !!!!!!!

The Ohio State O-line has been on a milk carton for quite some time, I hope Meyer has found them.
Tomorrow
Congrats, nice pick-up I do not think he was ever a threat to leave Ohio.
Just curious.....was he your number one target as far as the line? Any other targets ahead of him? I assume Pocic is still ahead of him of course.
Pocic, Tunsil (I'd guess), Fox, then LTT

^^ true, one guy I reall wanna land on the oline is Pocic. He seems like a world beater

Evan Lisle is the #1 OL in Ohio just an fyi to all....may be the only Ohio lineman in this clas
Agreed Alex, however what are your thoughts on Peterson? I've also read on some of the other boards that the next linemen that will commit is Pocic (granted I'll be the first to admit that it's mere speculation). What are your thoughts on that?
Lisle is a nice get IMO. I might be bummed if I ever thought he was possibly going anywhere else, but he was 100% Buckeye, pending an offer.
@rational
Although, I suspect Florida, if Tunsil or Pocic wanted to commit, Hoke would find a spot, I do believe. My gut says OSU for Pocic over ND.
Those who stay will be CHAMPIONS!

^^ they always say, go with your gut feeling.... but i feel the same (hopefully pocic is in S&G)
