Spoke to Mike (younger brother of Jeff) today. He is in Columbus visiting until Monday. Urban offered today, but he said he's not ready to commit just yet. He is supposed to decide sometime in the next two months and I think he will be a Buckeye. Adam Breneman is definitely the #1 TE in the nation, but Heuerman plays against better competition and is regarded as #2 by a lot of people. He may catch Breneman when it is all said and done and fits Meyer's offense like a glove.

Terrific news. From what I've heard about this kid, it sounds like he's very atheltic and could be perfect as a TE/H-back for Urban and Co.
I'm sure Herman is about to wet himself with the talent he's getting to work with here as opposed to Iowa State and Rice.
Good things are on the horizon.
Didn't Billy Price tell Jeremy he was gonna wait to commit, and then did like 2 days later?
Favorite Buckeye: Obviously BJ Mullens
Eli Woodard admitted in one of the interviews he did (I can't remember if it was 11w or Rivals) that he got the feeling he better commit soon once the commitments started flowing in. No doubt other recruits are starting to feel that same pressure.
Great New on Milke. I am very impressed with Breneman but I just feel it all Penn St. Mike can fill that spot, I think he can be a great H-Back for OSU.
Don't know why Mike is messing around. He should just commit on the spot. We all know he is 150% Buckeye.
October 20th: National Kenneth Guiton Day
Oh Im not ripping either you or Jeremy, didnt mean it that way at all, Im just hopeful he's doing what Price did =P
Favorite Buckeye: Obviously BJ Mullens
Alex- So Mike Heuerman was given a committable offer today? Just looking at the other TE prospects, I liked both Jake Butt and Adam Breneman a little better. How would you rate them?
The good thing about Heuerman though, is that he does get Urban's foot in FL for the 2013 class.
If you ain't a Silver Bullet, you're a target
Completely off topic: Alex, my friend and I are going to Manny's tomorrow to watch OSU v Mich. Swing by dude.
So he said this morning that LSU is now his leader. Will decide after visiting ND on 3/31.
Should we be concerned?
Where did you hear LSU is his leader?
@ DefendOhio - It's somewhere on Scout - I just Googled his name & "LSU Favorite" and there's a link saying LSU is now his favorite, but when you click the the link you need a premium account to read the story. I personally don't think things like this mean too much & tend to wait until after the season is over before I start really listening what recruits are saying. Even if they commit elsewhere - it seems like that doesn't mean much until they actually sign & send the LOI.

Just spoke to Mike...said LSU does not lead....says OSU LSU Notre Dame and Miami (FL) are all even right now....still say he is a Buckeye
It's on LSU's Rivals site.
"After I go to Notre Dame I'll probably end up making my decision," Heuerman said. "I would have seen the places I wanted to see. I would say LSU is (No. 1). I told coach (Les) Miles before I left LSU really had a big impact me these last two days. I really felt comfortable with the place and with everything I saw."
Thanks, Alex. <3
Beginning to look very unlikely that Mike will be a Buckeye. It certainly sounds like he is wavering on attending the spring game. If he decides after his ND visit on 3/31 then its a two school race and Ohio State is not one of the two.
@Halfdozen, where did you hear he was thinking of not going to spring game? And with combination of Jeff Heuerman already there, Alex predicition of him being a Buckeye and Coach Meyer at the helm, I still like our chances.
Favorite Buckeye: Obviously BJ Mullens
Mike Heuerman will be at the spring game and will be a Buckeye shortly after.....if I'm wrong I will eat a bucket full of crow but I feel good on this one...very very very good
Per some rivals article (I don't pay for it so I can't actually read it), he said he HOPES to make the tOSU spring game. You'd think he would say he'd definitely be there if he was so set on tOSU like everyone on here thinks he is
I read that comment on buckeyebattlecry fwiw
"Love my State, hate the football"
Guys -- how often is Alex wrong? 95% of for-pay links have deceiving headlines that often are based purely on guesswork.
"You're pissed because we went after a committed guy? Guess what, we got 9 guys who better go do it again," said Meyer. "Do it a little harder next time."
Yep I haven't been steered wrong by Alex sincevI joined this site...if he feels very very very good on this one then in Alex I trust (and I was in the Army so trusting for me is a big deal) but Alex I'll be there IF you ever have to eat crow, I'll buy the beer to wash it down haha.
I didnt get it from the headline. Somebody posted the link and summarized the article context. I'm def not doubting Alex though, just something I read. Either way, Im not hot or cold on Heuerman anyways so I can't say I'd be disappointed at all if he chose to go somewhere else.
"Love my State, hate the football"
Why would Heuermann not come to OSU? His brother is here, he fits Urban's system, we need a TE in this class. Breneman already committed to PSU so Mike would be the man, I say Alex is right he would be the man anyways.
I am sure Mike won't be too hasty with his pick. He has options and time. Spring game is a great point to make decision. Plus I also trust when Alex says he is still deciding then an article that someone, a commentor, posts on a site. I am sure one of us can create a fake article and post it saying its true.
Pretty much every writer on scout thinks he's going to be a buckeye, and I haven't seen anything to make me doubt that.
I'm in the camp - if he comes, great. If not, great. He will not make or break our team.
To be honest, I am much more impressed with McNeil than I am with Heuerman. But I will still be happy with one or even both.
Alex, wanted to pass along a couple helpful food preparation tips. First of all you wisely did not specify the size of the bucket. There are those small ones they use to ice champagne in restaurants, they would probably only hold 2 or 3 full size crows. Secondly, after cleaning and filleting the crows you should marinate them overnight in olive oil. Then bake them in a medium size pan with roasted garlic, parsley, and cilantro. 90 minutes at 375F should do the trick. Don't overcook because crow gets kind of tough if it is too dry. Most would recommend white wine but I prefer red with game bird, perhaps a nice California Zinfandel. Bon Apetit!
........totally necessary

@HALFDOZEN Thanks for the afternoon LOLz.
90 minutes = too long. A completely frozen, solid ice, large chicken breast = fully cooked at 51 minutes, and much too dry at 57 minutes on 375 degrees. I would be wary cooking it over an hour.
@Alex I got you man I got you! Haha I work in downtown Columbus on high so just let me know when you are in town!
