Now who does Larry Fedora sound like?
With regards to any additional impending NCAA violations:
Fedora isn't worried about a surprise, though. He said North Carolina athletic director Bubba Cunningham explained the NCAA situation in December during a one-on-one meeting in New York a few hours after Fedora met with North Carolina's search committee. "Bubba started hitting me with everything that could possibly happen," Fedora said. "That's when I really walked away and said everything is going to be fine."
Kinda like this?
“I just did a lot of research,” he said Monday morning during his meeting with a handful of local reporters in Columbus.
“I contacted a lot of people outside Ohio State. I wanted to hear it from some trusted people I have at the NCAA and some other people I have known who have dealt with the NCAA. When you start talking about the overall integrity of the institution, it’s a positive.”
Of course we all know the outcome for Ohio State. Comparing and contrasting against our violations, like the BBC was kind enough to do, I can't help but feel sorry for Fedora. Poor guy. Granted, Al Golden stepped into a bigger mess blindly (although, he did sign up for more, so go figure), but come on guy, you must really be fiending for a new gig if you overlooked what UNC has coming. Well, considering Fedora's fondness for Red Bull from the article... hmmmm.
