Glenn Sharpe - the one who committed the infamous pass interference penalty in the '02 MNC game, right?
Class of 2010.
Yes ShowThemOhiosHere, one in the same.
Although, it should have been called defensive holding, but whatever, we got the call either way.

Damn! How did I miss this until today. Guess my post is moot.

Man, that play still makes me laugh. The reaction people had to that play still gives me a chuckle. I love how people still hold that that play cost Miami the national title, but in the weeks leading up to that game all anyone could say was how big of a mismatch this game was going to be-and I agreed completely-in the opposite. I watched a lot of Miami football in 2002 and actually was glad we drew them instead of Oklahoma (who lost on a hail Mary to TAMU that year, Reggie McNeal, thank you sir!). That Miami had so much hype around Dorsey's winning streak and MacGahee's season, K2 and Andre Johnson's matchup problems, etc but all the analysts refused to bring up what I was screaming from the top of Morrill tower since week 8 of the 2002 season. We had the best D Line in the country (two first rounders, two third rounders) and Miami's offensive line was very weak up the middle and our Defense was very stout up the middle. As much as I loved how this game ended, and the ensuing butt hurt it has caused for 10 years now, I will never forget the way KP and Will Smith utterly dominated an offensive unit that was otherwise unchallenged that year. All 5 guys spent 60 minutes holding, scrambling, tackling, and otherwise turnstyling while Smith, Scott, Anderson and Peterson had all 5 of Miami's line perfecting the "HEY KEN. LOOK OUT!" block.
My point? When you are ESPN-made 40 point favorites, one play in double OT against slow, fat Ohio State shouldn't have mattered. At least Glen Sharpe will probably have cell mates that used to be team mates.
4-6 seconds from point A to point B and when you get to point B, be pissed off
