Well this years recruiting class is almost a wrap. And everyone's hitting on that topic hard and that's FINE. But considering we are almost across the finish line with this 2012 recruiting class (which is turning out to be absolutely stellar)…Let's start a discussion for the 2013 class...just to get a glance into what the future possibly holds for buckeye nation and what the expectations are for the 2013 recruiting class. Now we all know the news about the STUD Cam Burrows committing. But I have also heard of potential names such as Jalin Marshall, Malik Zaire, Jaylon Smith, Billy Price, and Robert Foster...now do you Alex or anyone else have any info or insight on those prospects or any other ones that I may not have mentioned??
I feel like we're going to have a big class this year, and with penalties, a smaller one next year. Upperclassmen will want to stay for a postseason shot. I think it'll be a smaller class, but the star power will be off the charts.
We'll have a small class around 15 or so. However, that class could be absolutely loaded with guys like Cam Burrows, Jalin Marshall, Jaylon Smith, Eli Woodard, Billy Price, Derrick Green, Malik Zaire, Evan Lisle, Lovell Peterson, Robert Foster, and Mike McCray.
We won't have the number one class because it's going to be very small, but it could easily average over four stars per player, and that is insane.
If you haven't already, check the other 2013 thread somebody made today, should shed some light on the subject. We will have a small class, but we can make it a great class with Urban at the helm. Burrows is the first, Marshall is expected to be the 2nd. Adam Breneman the #1 TE in the 2013 class and Jaylon Smith the #4 player nationally, #1 OLB and Laquon Treadwell (No Offer) have said they will attend Junior Day at Ohio State. Landing Adam and Jaylon would be HUGE for this small class of 15 or so. Eli Woodard is a matter of time in my eyes, would be a great start to this class.
Gonna provide a list, most of these guys might commit elsewhere so I'm broadening the horizon of choices I believe OSU will target. Can only have so few so hope they recruit really hard.
QB Malik Zaire & Darryl Richardson (Backup QB Jonathan McCrary)
RB Derrick Green & Ty Isaac (Backup RBs Ryan Green, Greg Bryant, & Keyante Green)
OL Logan Tuley-Tillman and Billy Price (Backup OLs Ethan Pocic, Derwin Gray & Jake Raulerson),
WR Shelton Gibson, Jordan Cunningham, Richard Benjamin & MarQuez North
TE Adam Breneman & Wyatt Shallman
DL Henry Poggi, Tashawn Bower, Elijah Daniel & Joey Bosa
LB Jaylon Smith, E.J. Levenberry, Dorian O’Daniel, Daniel McMillian & Jon Reschke
DB & S Cameron Burrows (Committed), Eli Woodard (Buckeye lean), Caleb Day, Shaq Wiggins & Vernon Hargreaves III
ATH Jalin Marshall (Buckeye lean), Robert Foster, Michael Parker, Dymonte Thomas (Michigan commit and Bri'onte Dunn's Cousin)
Nice! And thanks for the great info! If it wasn't for this site and twitter I'd be "lost in the sauce" with all this recruitment info due to the fact I'm stationed out here in Hawaii with the Army and the fact I'm 5-6 hours behind! So sometimes there's a delay in me getting the info so I greatly appreciate your guys help! Keep the info coming and Go Bucks! O-H..

Maybe not #1, but definitely top 5.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
The chance for the #1 class is close to 0%.
OSU won't have many scholarships as others have stated. Rivals ranks the top 20 guys in a class, so if you don't have that many, you have no chance to win the race.
OSU should aim for the top 15, since they players they will get will be studs
I think OSU will have the most talented class next year....may not be #1 because of numbers as Buckeye06 said, but I think it's a top 5 class for sure
