How many times have anyone run into some self -professed expert (football among other things I presume) that is bad mouthing the bucks. I was at the store here in jersey when some bread guy was talking trash. I said Ohio said and he turned around. I had the block O hat and a buckeye shirt on. He claimed that Tress was fired for paying the players. I said prove it cause it was for lying to the ncaa. He said the bucks were down, but I talked about this year's new recruits and that we also had a new HC.
Well he kept saying the Bucks cheated and I asked prove it. He was getting mad as I found out he was a Rutgers fan and I said they had never won the big least and Cincy is dominating it. Then he said he went to school at Toledo yet he couldn't name their best player ever.
His only retort was that the Bucks pay their players. He got really mad as I told him the Bucks were gonna win a NC in the next couple of years and Rutgers doesn't even have a coach. BTW some of the news here claim Tom Brady of PSU is in the running.
Oh boy.
I also said I was going to Rutgers tonight to watch Cincy beat them.
He said I was a fence rider just liking the bucks cause of the latest sucess. Geesh did he know the loyalty of Ohio grown boys. I remember Will Sanders knocking holes for Matt Snell and paul Warfield. I remember Bob ferguson playing both ways. Yeah I am a Johnny come lately.

I know a young lady from Toledo, and she posted some of the most hateful, vile language I've ever seen gloating about scUM's win last November. Of course, she brought up the overall record, largest win, and longest win streak, and then I reminded her the largest win and longest win streaks occurred from 1901-1909. I suppose if people hate us that much, we must be doing something right. I have a feeling the hatred toward tOSU is going to grow stronger in the coming years...
Reminds me of two stories.
#1 When I was a grad student in California, a random professor saw me walking across campus wearing Ohio State gear right after the 2007/2008 NC game. He asks, "How do you root for them?"
My response, "With all my heart."
I found out he was a Northwestern alumnus from the 80's and had "adopted" USC as his team.
#2 After the Wisconsin game in 2010 (living in the South), I went to the grocery store. People stopped me to say, "Sorry that you lost, but I am glad that you won't make it to the NC game."
One of these people was wearing a Georgia shirt. I asked him, "So, how did your team do today?" He didn't even know whether they were playing.
Some people don't and won't ever get it. It's ok. They are not Buckeyes and will just never understand. GO BUCKS!
I get a lot of people ignorant enough to come up to me saying that Ohio State is becoming or already is a basketball school... please, just because we have two good programs doesn't mean we are no longer and won't always be a football school.
But honestly up north there aren't too many people that get heated with me over college sports, but there is one thing that I hear a lot that bothers me... I am sick of hearing tOSU fans saying to give Michigan to Canada. I don't want that filth hole stinking up my beautiful country!
When driving to the store I pass this house with a big blown up wolverine in the front yard. I drive slow in hopes of talking to them. They flew it alot last year, but the previous years they flew it only on a saturday morning in November and quickly took it down.
I see alot of uscum hats up here in jersey, but few Buckeye hats if any.
I live in the country by PA and I see alot of PSU people. i enjoy talking ball with them.

Face to face? None. Well my ex use to say Ohio State sucked(she's from California) all the time. She realized how much I cared about the team, and eased up after a while. My biggest problem with her was that she was a jinx. Every game they lost from 2007(NC Game) to 2010 she watched. It drove me insane.-_-
Outside of that i've only really ever dealt with the internet Ohio State haters. It's mostly Meatchicken fans that are in denial about Tressel's domination, and bitter ND fans. ND fans almost act as if it's Ohio State's fault that their team has been mediocre for more than a decade.

I live a couple miles from the line where you have OSU fans spilling into mich and tsun fans spilling into Ohio and it gets a bit heated around here come Nov. and this last Nov was no exception as the tsun fan base has came out of nowhere dressed in full tsun drag and talking like they never lost a game. I'm just glad they finally got out and bought up some of that dusty old tsun drag crap thats been sitting on the local store shelves for years.
Im also not far from Toledo Rockets stadium and have been to many of their home games and talked with alot of the players, this one player i was talking to back in 2004 was from Detroit and he noticed i had an Ohio State jacket on and he said "Man, Ive been a mich fan forever but the rivalry out in this area is crazy" I always thought it would have been interesting if he had played for Toledo on Oct 11 2008 when Toledo went there and beat tsun. now that would have been a crazy time for him :)

The day after the last scUM game I was at the Andersons' Store meat counter wearing my old Woody hat. This middle-age (btw I'm in my 60's) guy sporting scUM-wear comes up next to me and then started this line of shit: "Kicked your ass yesterday...suckeyes...cheaters...paid players the only reason you won before...blah, blah blah etc". This went on for about 3 minutes and I never said a word. Finally I just turned and said to his wife, "How old is your little boy?" Guy stomped away and stopped and said that he'd be waiting for me outside. He wasn't...meatchickenshit.

Living in Nebraska has its moments. They love their Huskers. Every news article in the begining of the season stated how they were going to wipe up the B1G. I have Ohio State stuff on my truck and I have been honked at and flipped off by the "Big Red" fans. They don't have any other sports programs besides Creighton and it gets pretty ugly when they lose. Bo Pelini is like on god status here in the Husker state. One guy started in on me about the suckeyes and I said hmmmm I see you hired an ex-Ohio State player as your coach, just couldn't win with local stock could you. He stammered something then raised the proverbial middle finger at me and left. Geez you get crap no matter where you are at if you love The Ohio State University Buckeyes. I love it.
RBuck - I feel you. I where my Block O Woody hat everywhere and catch hell all the time for it. I live in SW Florida (UF & Hurricane country) which makes it even worse. Anyway - I kill em with kindness as well. It's the worst punishment for those who would bother starting fights over college sports. The nicer you are the more angry they get.

I was on Spring Break in Panama City, Fl in 2000 right after Florida St won the National Title vs Virginia Tech. While partying in a bar (wearing my scarlet and grey, of course) a man approached me and asked if I was an Ohio State fan. I said "Of Course! Bleed them 24 hours a day!" He says "Haha, Ive always wanted to see one of you!" (like I was some endangered species). He says next "You guys suck and will never have the tradition that Florida State has!" and in my parting shot I said "Weren't you guys an all girls school at one point?" That was the last I saw of him! HAHAHAHAHA! Don't mess with a Buckeye!
I lived in Georgia when the whole TatGate thing went down and Tressel left. I was wearing an OSU shirt at the gym and I kept catching this older man (60's or so) giving me the stink eye. After 20 minutes or so he finally walks over to me and says "Takes a lot of guts to wear that shirt out in public. Georgia may not be any good, but at least we have a coach." I just smiled and said "Well as long as we agree Georgia isn't any good."

I live in Pittsburgh, and I went to a pitt game, decked out in Ohio State gear, and stook in the main entrance of heins field so everyone who walked in had to look at my laurinaitis jersey. Not much of a story, but I had a lot of people not appreciate that.
Went to cincy game and they were horrible. I just hope the Bucks play well today.

I went to last years Sugar Bowl decked out in my Osu gear and my seats were in the middle of the Razorback side. I heard crap the entire first half, even had trash thrown at me. When we scored right before the half and went up 28-7, i stood up and turned around and announced that the stairs are here u can all go home now! I really got pelted with objects then! Thanks Tress for calling off the dogs and putting me thru that horrible 2 nd half!
