Knocks his list down to 3 schools. Ohio State, Virginia Tech & West Virginia
Here is a nice article over at Maxpreps on the kid, in case anybody has forgot him.

Alex, how do you see the Joel Caleb recruitment working out (just some insight would be appreciated)? How well do you like OSU's chances? Thanks again Alex
Shendig
Va Tech in my opinion....think Urban cooled on him when Neal/Diggs became possibilities....I think if Urban senses he doesn't have a real shot with either of those two he will put on last minute heat, but I think right now Caleb is a Hokie
Do you think we get Da'Vonte Neal out of Arizona & Stefon Diggs (5 star WR) to come to OSU. We really could use another receiver like Diggs (since Roger Lewis will be academically ineligible D/T grades or that's how I understood it anyways)? I would absolutely love to land Diggs for sure. Any thoughts on those recruitments Alex? Thanks man
Shendig
There is info on both of those all over the site. Diggs not likely unless he really does take his official visit to Ohio State this weekend, in which case it's all on Urban and who knows. Florida is the favorite to land him at the moment. Neal won't decide until February 10th or so. Claimed to have said the only place he would leave Arizona for is Ohio State. Still a very real possibility to land Neal, but who knows.
I personally think Neal will go to Arizona or OSU.....we will see how that goes....I think Diggs favors Florida and Auburn, but USC and OSU are players....Urban can win this one if Diggs does visit and the full court press is on
Denied reports that Ohio State has shown less interest, and he says there is no favorite right now...

So little smoke being produced on a Caleb committment, that it would be hard to imagine a fire developing.
OSU does need to find some downfield playmakers on offense, wether through recruits or developing players already on the team. It's asking alot of Braxton Miller otherwise.
I personally think VT wins this one...don't see OSU as much of a player because they kind of cooled the aggressiveness on Caleb, despite not "losing interest"...maybe this is just the type of recruit Meyer steals on NSD that we're not used to? I still see VT winning though
Not Ohio State, that's for sure
Alex,
you really think we slow played Caleb ! dont you think thats not smart expecially if we loose out on neal and diggs. Do you think OSU just is downplaying it and Joel Caleb is going to pick the buckeyes ! He is a heck of a talent and it would be really bad if we miss out on the other guys and he really wanted to be here !
Farrell just said he thinks it's 90% VaTech. Oh well, maybe we will be surprised.
Caleb to VaTech is about as close to 100% as possible. I really do not think we are even recruiting him anymore at this point.
Diggs is probably 33.3% between Florida, Ohio State, and Auburn.
Neal is probably 30% Ohio State, 35% Oklahoma 35% Arizona, IMO. I still think we can win this one!
Agreed. Which leads you to believe that the staff is fairly confident in one of Diggs/Neal, IMO.
Caleb is Gifted.... He could fit the system somewhere... And it would help in future recruits in that area.
Capn, Make It So...
Only issue with Caleb is that he has an injury history, and it wouldn't get any better playing in a hard-hitting conference in cold weather games. Don't get me wrong, I'd have loved to have him on board, but we have far bigger fish to fry with Neal and Diggs.
I think it's one of those things where, if we knew now exactly where Neal/Diggs are going to go, we'd know what to do about Caleb. For instance, if the staff was convinced that neither Neal or Diggs will be a Buckeye, then I agree that they should bring Caleb on board. But if it means possibly losing out on a Neal/Diggs then it's not worth it. Worst case scenario, we bank it for next year where it will definitely go to use considering we only have 15-17 schollies available. Best case scenario, we get a Neal/Diggs to finish out our class with Dodson and Marcus.
