The other player scheduled to visit this weekend is NC LB Jamal Marcus. Stay tuned to see if that visit actually takes place as rumors swirl of grade issues. If he does make it to Columbus, that would obviously be a positive sign. With the recent commitment of David Perkins and the positive vibes surrounding Camren Williams, it would seem that the 2012 class is running out of spots for LBs. A miss on an ATH could be the saving grace here in terms of room in the class. It will be interesting to see how this one develops.

Narrowed his final two to Ohio State and... East Carolina.
I think that comment reads better with a question mark at the end. just sayin'
“The teams that don’t respect their coaches and don’t trust their coaches are the teams that go .500"
~Zach Boren
Gross. He'll be 24. I assume they'll leave the "last" spot open for a speedster or OT.
Jason: surprisingly enough, the ECU staff seems to be very good at recruiting (not so much at coaching). As you know, Marcus is from Durham, NC.
It seems like Marcus is a back-up option: not necessarily that Meyer would remove the offer to him if Williams verbals, but maybe they might take Marcus and Williams if none of the "athletes" come aboard and/or the two OTs?
I agree with what someone else said, though: if Marcus makes the visit this weekend, the Ohio State staff don't see his grades situation as a disqualifier.
I think that is Meyers office. I wonder how Marcus liked the recruiting wall that was shown on the Big Ten Network?
It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog
There will be no number problems with this class. Plenty of room to take whoever you want at this point.
@Buckeye_JJ
You can never have too many LBs.
Side - His t-shirt is awesome.
Keep Calm and Ignore the Trolls.
So if we had 82 linebackers that would be okay? Huh would it?
that would be a hard hitting team
Dubjay: and that hard-hitting team of 82 LBs would be coached by Chris Spielman.
I've heard secondhand, that a local news source in NC (possibly subscription-only access) reported that Jamal Marcus said that he's narrowed (or apparently expanded) his list to include not only Ohio State and ECU but also Florida (which was previously in the running) and NC State (which is even closer to his home than ECU and is a "BCS school," etc.). He'll announce on NLOID.
This could be either good or bad news. The good interpretation: he's trying to show his mom that he pulled out all the stops to find a school close to home, but in the end, Ohio State was the best option. "sorry, mom."
Hard to tell. Sometimes, I think these kids just want their announcement to be more exciting, so they name other schools that really have no chance. I'm not saying Jamal is necessarily doing this, but we'll find out...
I think they want as many hats in front of them as possible. It has seemed clear for about a week now that it's either OSU or ECU. Not doubting what you heard, just giving more credibility to what so many people have been saying.
It's OSU or ECU. There was a rumor that he was going to visit more in-state schools, but I believe that was shot down...Gene? Alex?
Bassplayer and DMC: very good point, that's probably the reason. I don't follow recruiting closely - or at least didn't until UFM - but that makes sense . . . four hats on the table, including a FLA hat that's probably more of a prop than anything, looks better than two hats, more dramatic, etc.
Jamals mom wanted him to visit UNC but he decided against it, ECU and OSU are his two choices, no other schools. Signing Day will determine which school.
@Jamalmarcus34
He's gotta be all Buckeye
I think that is a pretty heavy Buckeye lean.
vacuuming sucks
he was retweeting some stuff earlier too that seemed strangely telling. A bunch of tweets from Buckeye fans regarding his impending decision.
excited much? Si, Senor. I am not doing any work come Feb 1st. I may be out of a job...
Maybe he's a silent commit hence why we canceled rayner and northrup's visits can't believe he's only a 3* on film kids a stud looks better than most 4*
