Forgive me, as I know this has been discussed in other threads but I don't want to go looking for them. I know we have 24 current commits, with 5 already signing early and counting towards last season's. So, does this mean we have 6 more scholarships available?

Yeah, this is confusing me too. As I understand it there are two distinct completely seperate limits we have to meet:
1) We can't sign more than 25 recruits without notifying the B1G and having space available for them. Early enrollees do not count against this number, as they count in last year's class.
2) We must be at or under 85 scholarships total at some point in the spring (not sure when). I believe for us that number is now 82 due to the NCAA punishment.
Is that correct? Would love for someone with more knowledge than me to clarify.
I think that, minus Lewis, we are at 23 for #1. I think that is including the early enrollees that actually don't count, so we have plenty of room there. I am not certain I'm correct on that.
I am not sure where we are in terms of the 82, but my impression is we will go out of signing day with more than 82 scholarships in the belief that several medical hardships and transfers will occur between now and the date we must be under 82. I think we're counting on 5 or 6 hardships/transfers, but I do not know.
If someone can clarify or provide details, I'd be most appreciative.

I think the guys have said we will get 3 to 4 more and still be okay under the numbers. There is still expected attrition.
Scout is showing Roger Lewis as decommitted, so we have 23 so far.
23 with Dodson, Marcus, Neal, Diggs, Caleb & Bradley still out there. Cox seems to be headed to MSU. Apparently we would take Dodson, Marcus and at least one of Neal or Diggs so at least three more. Obviously there will be more attrition to have room.
We are at 23 with Lewis gone. Whatever the case I would like to see only Dodson & Neal OR Diggs after this. IMHO That makes this class perfect (talent wise) and keeps it right at 25...

As many as we need. My guess (somewhat informed by the scout board) is the staff knows of more attrition coming down the road and isn't all that worried about the current numbers crunch.
We can be over 25 with 6 early entry guys.
We want Marcus... trust me.
I'm hoping we land 4 more... Dodson (which I think we will), Marcus (which I think we will), and then Neal and Diggs are wild cards (which I want both).
