Bracing myself for months of endless "UM IS BACK!" preseason hype and predictions.
When I think about the embarrassment that CCAA has endured the past 3 years, it helps me categorize that gift-wrapped box of luck they just got. I did find it amusing to just turn the sound off and imagine circus music in the background. Also amusing- the pure look of confusion and bewilderment on the face of chin-stomach throughout the game.
The statement is usually "better lucky than stupid". Well, in the case of CCAA this year, it can be rightly changed to "stoopid and lucky is bliss".
When I consider the talent (on both sides of the ball) in last years Sugar Bowl, I have laugh about this years edition.

Don't be sad for Beamer. He made a horribly stupid call on the fake punt and deserved this fate. Feel bad for Coales. That kid made an amazing catch, and while I agree that it should have been reviewed, there wasn't nearly enough evidence to overturn. If they called it an incomplete pass, I would still say you couldn't overturn. Terrible call, but VaTech put themselves in that position. It hurts to type this, but scUM deserves credit for making fewer mistakes and playing surprisingly good defense.
scUM D couldn't get off the field. They were tough in redzone, but they won in spite of themselves. VT handed game to them on several occasions, especially the fake punt. Unreal.
scUM had 184 yds of offense. Brady Hoke's cholesterol rating is probably higher than that. They benefitted off of refs and stupid decisions by Frank Beamer. No credit from me. Enjoy getting your ass kicked when you play a real time in Alabama next year. Then of course by us.

Virginia Tech seems to be the most cursed school in the nation with their luck in both basketball and football. get so close so many times...and nothing to show for it. how many years now have they been left out of march madness...its crazy, really.
