Here's how a National Playoff would work:
National Tournament would consist of 8 Major Conferences (ACC, Big East, Big 10, Big 12, C-USA, Mountan Southwest Conference, Pac 12, and SEC). Each conference will consist of 2 divisions with each division having 6 teams. Each team will play 12 regular season games: One (1) non co...nference game against another team within the 8 Major Conferences and eleven (11) conference games. Each conference's division winners (determined by division record) will then play eachother to determine a conference champion. If 2 or more teams have the same division record then the tiebreaker will go as follows: Head-to-head matchup, conference record, overall record, highest BCS ranking. The two (2) division winners from each conference will play eachother in their respective Conference Championship Game with each winner advancing to the National Tournament. Tournament Seeding will be determined by BCS rankings. Highest BCS ranking will be seeded #1 and so forth. Highest seeds will have home games in the first and second rounds of the National Tournament. Losers of each Conference Championship Game particiapate in a bowl game. Those bowl games will be: Rose Bowl (Big Ten vs Pac 12), Sugar Bowl (SEC vs Big 12), Orange Bowl (ACC vs MSW), and Fiesta Bowl (Big East vs C-USA). The National Championship Game will have a different site every year rotating between the Rose, Sugar, Orange, and Fiesta Bowl sites. The following bowl games will be played by teams in the 8 Major Conferences that did not make their respective Conference Championship Game: Outback Bowl (Big Ten vs SEC), Capitol One Bowl (Big Ten vs SEC), Insight Bowl (Big Ten vs Big 12), Gator Bowl (Big Ten vs Big 12), Champs Bowl (ACC vs Big East), Sun Bowl (ACC vs Pac 12), Music City Bowl (ACC vs SEC), Chick Fil A Bowl (ACC vs SEC), Armed Forces Bowl (MSW vs C-USA), Military Bowl (MSW vs Pac 12), Cotton Bowl (Big East vs Big 12), Holiday Bowl (Pac 12 vs C-USA), TicketCity Bowl (Big East vs MSW), Compass Bowl (Big East vs C-USA), Las Vegas Bowl (MSW vs Pac 12), Liberty (Big 12 vs C-USA). These bowls will choose their respective dates to play. Money from Conference Championship games, Bowl games, and the National Championship Game will be divided up equally among conference teams from which the team participating represents. Money from the First and Second rounds of the National Tournament will be divided equally to the conference in which the home team for each game represents.
