The other day I saw some commenters on here discussing the rumored possibility of Reid switching to Tackle. Does this have some substance to it? While watching the replay of the Sugar Bowl on espnU, I was reminded of this play http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tUN8k5LWdDk
How in the world is this guy going to play Tackle? I realize he is big (listed at 6'8" 280) and was certainly more of a blocking TE this year, but he'd have to put on some serious weight to make the switch wouldn't he? (30+ pounds?) Plus, with a guy like Herman (and his TE friendly offense) calling the shots, couldn't he be a useful weapon at TE?

size is fine as long as he can block
At least Bollman will not be around to screw this up!
We will have some depth at TE, so I agree with the "as long as he can block" comment. He would be a more athletic O Tackle, which I'm guessing Urbz would like.
I agree about the depth at TE with Stoney, Heuerman, Vannett, and now Blake Thomas. And Tackle is definitely a position of need. So if he's able to play OT, I'm certainly all for it. I guess I'm just surprised Reid would be willing to do this, especially with the (expected) TE friendly system that will be implemented by Urbz and Herman.
I'm assuming based on the responses so far this position switch is a real possibility and not some rumor started by someone "in their mom's basement"
