Is the OSU bowl ban the first to happen without a LOIC being levied against the school? I think I read that somewhere, but want to be certain. Obviously Gene Smith was under that impression, but is it a fact?

Thanks for the contributions. In some minimal research I have found that multi-year bowl bans are pretty rare. 15 in the past 30 years or so. 2 of those are SMU, 2 are USC, 2 are Bama FWIW.
