Buckeye in Southern California, looking to go to a game next year...

Heyo, as some of you guys know I am a Buckeye living in Orange County. I really want to make it down for the Nebraska game next year. The primary costs would obviously be air fare, (decent seating) game tickets, and hotel costs. How much exactly do you guys think this trip would cost me (with everything included?)

$900.  $300 for the hotel for two nights, $450 airfare, $250 for the ticket, assuming you have to go through channels like stub hub or something.  First game against Nebraska in the Shoe (maybe we had one a long time ago, too lazy to look it up, but as a conference member if nothing else) and wanting revenge will drive that ticket up easily.  That's a rough estimate... you may be able to cut some cost out here and there.

edit:  this estimate doesn't include food/drinks

I've done the math from so-cal and I estimated 800-950 bucks or so. Just get a cheap flight in advance, the best deal on tickets that you can. Hotel try and find a good deal as well.

I'm currently in the process of planning a trip from OC to Columbus for Penn St.  You should be able to get airfare in the 300 range if you plan early and are somewhat flexible about fly time.  I'm looking at 350 for a red eye with less than 3 weeks advance notice.

Also, I would bet 100-150 nets you a ticket in C deck somewhere especially if you are buying a single ticket.  If you're really on a budget and need 2+ tickets, you could try buying singles in the same section and just cramming in at whichever is most open, especially if its a section with a lot of students.

If you stay at a hole in the wall, I bet you could make the trip for 750 bucks food/drinks included.

I went to the Wisconsin game from OC... I used a free flight from SWA, but I checked and paying regular fare for the same flight would've cost me $325. And, I didn't book that far in advance. Planning in advance, you may be able to keep this under $300.

I got my game tickets for free, but I was looking for awhile and most tickets were being offered at face value--- this is really going to depend on when you buy the tickets, and how the team looks at that point. It could vary greatly. If you happen to know any students, alums, donors, faculty, sponsors, anything- it might be worth it to reach out and see if they have any avenues to face value tickets.

The Hyatt Regency downtown has a college football weekend rate of $99/night and it includes free parking. It's a pretty nice hotel, as far as Columbus goes, and is walking distance to downtown/the short north/ and the arena district, so it'll save you some cab money if those are the places you want to be. Roughly $10 to campus and $20 to CMH.
