Here is a copy of the self report from tOSU regarding the chairty event. Kinda interesting. According to a Doug Lesmerises article, the guys went to the event with TP (not suprised) and Jonathon Newsome.

I stand by my previous statement that this happened in Feb. and we shouldn't think these guys are complete idiots... the Tat5 stuff hadn't completely blown up yet. Nonetheless, eff this.
Now I get it. First, they did not clear the event with compliance (1 game). Then, they got a $200 benefit (1 more game). This is how the Miami players avoided 2 game suspensions - no charity event to get clearance for. They just accepted handouts from a booster - you don't need to check with compliance to accept Shapiro's hand outs, hence 1 game suspension. Does this make sense to anyone???

What really bothers me about this whole mess is that the truth did not come out. Still.
Think:
1. The Charity-gate violations happened back in February, AFTER the Tat-Five issue but before JT's violations were discovered.
2. Tress is caught.
3. Newsome is gone from the team.
4. Then Tress is gone from the team.
5. Then TP is gone from the team.
Do you see the corresponding timeline? It looks to me like the University and NCAA uncovered the Charity-gate violations last Spring. I think that THIS is what the compliance department was investigating when they found JT's emails (it never made sense to me that they would search his emails for the Tat-5 appeal). No wonder the NCAA has more questions.

Buck Guy....The Tressel emails were discovered by compliance in January so roughly a month before the charity event on Feb 19th.
I think the NCAA has more questions regarding the source of the money. The tOSU response was very vague. Appropriate discplinary action needs to be applied to whomever it was (former player(s) and the representative of athletic interests ????). Something similar to what was applied to TP (5 year Ban from tOSU involvement in the athletic dept).
