Kalis had to do it... OSU is looking at sanctions and some down years, while its obvious Michigan is headed in the opposite direction. Cant fault the kid for that, he has to look out for his future.

Brady Hoke, while being a overachieving eater, is a mediocre coach at best. scUM will continue to be a middle-of-the-pack B1G squad for at least the next 3 years. Thanks for stopping by tho, we really appreciate it.

Michigan is currently ranked 1st in the 2012 recruiting class where OSU isnt even on the board.
You lost Pryor and Tressel, we got rid of RichRod and gained Mattison.
You're looking at scholarship losses and postseason bans, we arent.
How can you say Michigan isnt looking up while OSU is certainly trending down? If you had a blue chip son, and wanted him into the NFL... which route would you choose? Even though i'm a diehard michigan fan, I would look to other schools if it was my son looking at that situation.

All Mattison did is inherit a defense that Mike Nolan and Rex Ryan built. Mattison didn't build or develop anything. Did he make the unit better? Nope.The players on the Ravens defense are/were a veteran group that knew the system better than Mattison. The guy rode the coattails of what was already there and couldn't possibly have screwed that up. Of course tsun fans were raving about Robinson like he was a defensive mastermind too.
First of all, I don't blame the kid for deciding this, but caution GoBlu to be too excited. He's flip flopped once already and has yet to play a down of his high school senior year. When the NCAA sanctions come down, and they end up not being so bad, we'll see how loyal these verbal recruits are.
Plus, it's not like this guy is the number 1 overall recruit in America. Some recruiting services have him rated the number 20 O-line prospect in America. While we would've loved to have him, it's not exactly like he is a guy that will lead the team to multiple titles or anything. Big loss yes, devastating meh, not so much.

Thought the exact same thing Pam. Also just like Btalbert25 pointed out he was a loss but it's not like it was an incredible one. I always thought that Dodson was much more of a loss than Kalis from watching their tape.
The kid was conflicted all along. If tOSU doens't get the hammer so many seem to think they will and UM doesn't improve that much, I think he will flip again.
A post season ban likely would be only 1 bowl, which doesn't affect 2012 highschool kids anyway. When Ohio State still ends up winning 10 games this year, and it turns out the program really isn't going to get hurt too bad guys are going to come back to the good side. From Kalis' statement it sounds like Hoke did a great job of scaring the kid into it.
The uncertainty of the coaching situation is troubling to be sure, but that will all be decided by national signing day. If Fickell fizzles, they'll have a month(at least) to hire a name. We know what Urban Meyer can pull last minute in recruiting. If there's a post season ban, the team has roughly 3 months to announce who the new coach will be.
Bottom line, by the time this season is completed things will be much more certain. By the time of national signing day, the head coaching situation will be figured out, all penalties will be known, and we'll see Ohio State picking off major recruits one by one. So get your shots in now, everyone knows the recruiting war is won in late January and early February, not July before the guys even play their senior season.
