Posted this on Twitter earlier, but forgot to put it on the site: Jordan Hall is moving from RB to WR. This is a smart move based on depth at the two positions and Hall is said to be pumped for the switch.

Sounds like a great move.
This is awesome news! Hall --> WR is something that I've always wanted to see, especially since we're so stacked at RB.
Now we can all imagine quick screens to Hall that take advantage of his vision, agility, and good hands. Remember that punt return vs Miami?
So now who starts at RB day one - Rod Smith or Berry?
Good move i think. I'm excited to see what Berry can do.
seems like a perfect move....we're thin at WR, and loaded at RB....and Hall's vision in the open field is top notch....love to see him get the ball in space and just let him do what he does best....as for the #1 RB before Boom comes back - let's see if the hype on Mr Smith is warranted....with Berry as a change of pace, complimentary guy.....
I don't know..I am in no way against Hall and I am happy to have a man of his caliber on the field but I am looking at a few physical characteristics and they don't scream WR. He is short and is not a down field threat due to his lack of top end speed. I think that he may struggle to find separation. The screens and dump passes would be his only options. I think he is much more dangerous out of the back field when nobody knows if he is going to run it or swing out for a pass.
On the flip side he is talented and we need to keep him on the field to remind our opponents of this at every opportunity. If Berry and Smith are better candidates at RB and we are that thin and untalented at WR then I suppose it is a good move.

I think this is a solid move by the coaching staff. He is not going to be a flanker. He will most likely be used in the slot. This opens up alot of options. As Irricoir pointed out, he is not going to be a down field threat, however, the underneath stuff may be open all day. Crossing routes with him and Stoney, one of them is going to get open. Not to mention, any nickel back will HAVE to shift with him when he is sent in motion. And that opens up a whole other can of worms, when you consider the option to possibly run the slot end-around play with his fantastic vision and speed. Im fully torqued if you couldn't tell
If Denard Robinson isn't careful with spooning all that food into his mouth, he's going to end up lookin' like Whoopi Goldberg
J. Hall was recruited as an Athelete if I recall correctly.
How much WR did he play in Jeanette?
Class of 2010
Methinks we will not have any kind of a downfield passing attack this year...at least until Posey comes back, and probably not then due to the QB's and Bollman. Good move.

Yeah - and Stoney will likely be used more as a receiver as well, considering the glut of tight ends we have. Put Fragel and Stoney in at the same time (with Heuerman in to sub) + Hall in the slot, and our inexperienced quarterbacks should always find an open guy. This allows us to spread the field horizontally. Besides, if he wasn't looking like 'the guy' at rb, but he's too dangerous not to be on the field, then a slot-ish position is perfect. We can only hope Philly Brown gets his hands together so we can have some kind of downfield threat too.
Wow, are we actually talking football?

With the 2 rb's coming in next year it may also help in that regard.
*hopefully* two running backs next year. I sure hope Brionte Dunn doesn't bail. He looks like a player.
@irricoir - yeah, it's kind of hard to believe. I've been hoping Hall might be moved to the "playmaker" position (as he calls it) for awhile, but I was more excited about this news than usual simply because it actually has to do with football.
In the slot he could succeed, but I don't see him as a wideout.
vacuuming sucks
Pretty sure I remember reading that he had more receptions than carries in high school. If that's incorrect I know he at least caught a bunch of passes.

One less rb in the mix may help solidify Dunn's commitment.
I remember that his recruitment video showed him in a lot of slot, and scat back formations. (What ever the current terminology is for the B back in a triple back formation is nowadays. We called them the x back) He ran a lot of sweeps and off tackle runs from that position and was prolific in the short passing game. If I remember correctly they used a speed formation. I don't recall a lot of use of the full back. I guess before I commented, I could just watch it again...Derp.

I remember when Saine was used in the slot. This seems like a great idea. Now, we can rest knowing Berry won't transfer.
