A Look at the Spring Football Helmets

OhioStateBuckeyes.com has a pretty good photo of the helmets that will be used for spring ball:

At the end of camp, 25 of the helmets will be autographed by Tressel and then sold for $1,000 each, with the sale benefiting the Ohio National Guard Family Readiness and Warrior Support Program, LiFE (Learning in Fitness & Education) through Sports Program and  the Ruth and Jesse Owens Scholars Fund.

I'm sorry, but that helmet looks like crap.  What's it supposed to be, some urban pixelated version of camo?  Looks like something Burton would put on a jacket...

That is truly one ugly-ass helmet. Looks like it got scuffed up by dropping it out of a moving ve-hicle.

These helmets look awful, they're worse than the ACU design Army wore.

looks like the helmet caught on fire, burning away most of the silver paint, leaving just patches intact

I hate all uniform modifications.

At least they're not changing the name plates on the back of the jerseys to "Freedom", "Courage", etc.

Yeah, I think it's important to remember that this is just for spring football. Besides, they will raise $25,000 for military-related charities.

Has nothing to do with being a communist or looking bad for spring practice.  The helmets are ugly and poorly done.  Period.  Although raising money for charities is a good thing, it doesn't mean it (the helmet design) has to be poorly conceived/executed. Homer...

Satch Sullinger To Retire From Coaching

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Northland High School boys' basketball coach Satch Sullinger announced on Wednesday that he was going to retire at the end of the season.
Sullinger will step down one year after being named the 2010 national high school coach of the year, 10TV's Dan Fronczak reported.

"It's the right time to quit coaching and go full time as a husband, a dad, and a grandpa," Sullinger said.

Sullinger, the father of Ohio State freshman forward Jared Sullinger, has been coaching basketball for 32 years and has spent the last 10 at Northland.

He won a Division I state championship in 2009, which was Jared Sullinger's junior season.

Satch Sullinger addressed rumors that he was leaving because of the possibility that Jared Sullinger might leave early to make himself eligible for the NBA draft.  He said that he will continue to stay at Northland to teach and planned on "going to all of Ohio State's games next year and not just some of them."

Hey dick (Cross Village), me and RBuck were replying to Orlando Buckeye's comment regarding Satch Sullinger becoming an assistant coach for the Buckeye basketball team. Now please, go take your smug (and completely incorrect in this case, might I add) comments elsewhere. And quit being such a first class asshole while you are at it.
