I know that this blog is essentially for the tOSU Buckeyes, but as a Buckeye expat, I have been made aware of something that is quite disturbing. I live near Auburn, Alabama, home of the Auburn Tigers. One of their traditions is that Auburn fans traditionally celebrate wins by using toilet paper to roll the Toomer's Corner (Toomer's is a local drug store) trees, which are estimated to be more than 130 years old. This has been done for years and is the type of fun, college tradition that makes college football great.
It seems that an Alabama "advocate" (I won't call him a fan, because he doesn't deserve that type of positive label, terrorist may be more appropriate) used a commercial tree herbicide and provided lethal dosages to at least two of the trees at Toomer's corner.
I don't know if you see the similarity, but being BUCKEYES, it would be nice if tOSU could step up and assist with this (tOSU Department of Agriculture, Horticulture, and even Jim Tressel). This is a chance to reach out to an SEC team in a positive way and maybe create a little solidarity. If any of you can turn on anyone from one of the schools up to, and including the Athletic Department, it would be nice.

No.
October 20th: National Kenneth Guiton Day
Because Auburn would just be itching to help tOSU if this had happened in Columbus.
No, we do it because we have class...

It is hard to play dirty against a man who picks you up.
As far as I'm concerned, this is just another result of a culture of ignorance and disrespect. Alabama and Auburn both deserve everything they get from each other.
Doesn't mean I think it's right or that I take pleasure in it, but they've made their own bed and it is what it is.
