Hey guys, newbie here. This site rocks!
Long-distance, lifetime Buckeye fan here in the land of the south (Pensacola, FL). I'm taking my son-in-law to the OSU-Scum game. I've only been to the Shoe once and he's never been to a college game.
Any pointers on how to maximize our experience? Going to try and get to skull session and be in our seats for the band entrance. Any other not-to-be-missed events to maximize his experience? Are there any tailgates that allow out-of-towners to chip in and meet other Buck fans?
Any advice is much appreciated.

Getting there in time for Script Ohio is definitely the most important thing.
I am going to the scUM game this year too, and it will be my first time in c bus in 6 years. I also would love any advice people feel like offering up. Biggest priorities are the skull session and carmen, oh.
I know it probably sounds a bit "younger crowd" but head to The O Patio on 15th and High EARLY for Keggs and Eggs. I think you get a free shirt and they have eggs and beer for cheap. Good start to the morning at 7 am for this game every time.
If I can talk my wife into going up that early, I will hit that up for sure. sounds awesome. am i right in thinking the skull session is 1.5 hours before the game?
After kegs and eggs, avoid the dreadful skull session (unless you want to lose the buzz), but make sure to be outside to walk over to the stadium with the band and join in a chorus of We Dont Give a Damn. Then get to your seat and look for me. And don't sit down (or ask me to sit down) during The Game.
Respectfully disagree, my good sir Mr. Green - the skull session was one of my favorite experiences at the Miami game this year. Enjoyed seeing the players in their civy suits, quick word from Tress and TBDBITL was awesome.
I second the love for the skull session
If your son-in-law is old enough, I recommend Little Bar. It is just off Lane Ave. and the atmosphere is awesome, although, the hot ladies there may make it awkward for the two of you. Skull session is a must for first timers, Tressel usually has the best speeches for the scUM game, and I imagine Cameron Heyward will be fired up for his last home game.
Let your son-in-law where your thermal underwear(long johns). A Buckeye stocking hat would also be a good idea. And maybe a little flask of Jack. Stick it down by your "junk," as I don't think they frisk down there for college football games...yet. It's going to be cold as shit... especially for a Floridian.
"Here officer, hold my beer while I find my license."
Definitely go to skull session, it's sad to hear that a fan of OSU refers to it as dreadful...
Watching ramp and script are a must, as is never sitting down and never stopping yourself from letting UofM know their sad, twisted little place in this world by screaming at them any time they touch the ball.
TWO hours. Skull Session begins TWO hours before kickoff, not 1.5. And for the Michigan game, get there at least 45 minutes before that or you won't get a seat.
Show them Ohio's here!
thats good advice. im assuming all restraunts/pubs/bars open a bit early for the noon games?
