CBS news has an article that notes that Baylor may be in trouble if it is called for early review of its' accreditation due to the ongoing sexual assault scandal. (Baylor isn't scheduled for review until December, but may be called in early if circumstances warrant).

Probation is the 2nd level of punishment by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) - not quite the 3rd strike (revocation) - but significant enough that it will cost them in terms of student enrollment due to the downgrade in academic standing. Baylor was placed in "warning" status for a 1 year period at their last review in December 2016.

This probation would affect the general student body, not just the athletic program. A sad situation indeed.
