Seeing how difficult Chris Ash's job has been at Rutgers so far (two shutouts, multiple comprehensive beatdowns), I've been wondering if there's any coach who could be expected to take such a bad program as Rutgers and make them successful in any short amount of time.
So obviously Urban Meyer isn't leaving Ohio State any time soon, and if he did, it certainly wouldn't be for Rutgers. However, for this hypothetical, imagine that for some reason Meyer decides to go to New Jersey, maybe to prove to himself that he can win anywhere (not that he hasn't already proven that with his stints at BG and Utah).
Does Meyer turn Rutgers into a solid program? What record does he get in his first year there? Does he keep New Jersey's substantial football talent in state and ward off the would-be poachers? Does he ever turn Rutgers into a Big Ten East contender, or are such things even beyond his ability? Let's also assume that Ohio State gets a strong replacement for Meyer (if such a thing exists), so they'll remain a very-difficult game every year on Rutgers' schedule.
